  1. Geezus .. Vaval plays the ball like he fields punts.
  2. I would never have guessed strevs first touch tonight would be a reception.
  3. That was an embarassing attempted tackle.
  4. Will the Bombers **** the bed in the third quarter again tonight?
  5. Great reception but WHY were those receivers so close together??
  6. How soon we forget Tim Burke For as much as we might complain about the roster and O'Shea being stubbornly set in his ways, we have won a **** tonne of games and have enjoyed a fun ride these last number of years.
  7. Haha .. I grabbed the wrong depth chart. Still low on the caffeine this morning .. looks like it's going to be one of *those* days
  8. I understand the "math" behind it .. I just look at the defensive side of the ball and see a giant hole right in the middle of the defensive line.
  9. Good to see Logan draw in but all of Schmekel, Lawson and Thomas on the game day roster? I also don't get dropping Jones in favour of Weitz.
  10. https://static.cfl.ca/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/WINNIPEG-at-MONTREAL_AUGUST-21-1.pdf Depth Chart
  11. While the scoreboard didn't show it, they got BADLY outplayed in the third .. I think Ottawa's first drive chewed up around 9 minutes (ending with a TD) while we went two and out twice before stringing together a couple of first downs to close out the quarter. It was just awful football coming out after the half and it's been emblematic of this team's play this year.
  12. Not disagreeing at all. I'd be all for punting the ball away if they chose not to go for it after the sneak. Even if Sheehan puts in into / through the endzone for a single, it forces Ottawa to put a drive together AND successfully convert a 2 point attempt. Watching that game slip away from the third quarter onward was the most maddening thing in the world.
  13. Last night, post game, O'Shea was asked about the decision to kick the field goal (and was pressed on it a bit). He said he did it because he had faith in Sergio and the cover team. What was left unsaid (and I'll admit I'm reading into this a bit), is that he had no faith in the offense or offensive line to pick up that yard. I look at that situation and, to me, lining up for a QB sneak on 2nd and three signals that you intend to go again if it's close. I know Sergio has been great this year but that whole sequence was bizarre and nearly cost us the game.
  14. Ottawa isn't a well coached team. They have some talented pieces but Dyce isn't a good head coach. Not that our coaches have been lighting the world on fire this season but, if we lose to the RedBlacks tonight, it should be a serious indictment of our coaching staff.
  15. I don’t think it’s fair to "write off and move on” from *any* of our quarterbacks given the state of our offensive line. Receivers. Coaching and co-ordinating are all holding this group back. That said, Zach at 600K is absurd. His play, over multiple seasons, doesn’t warrant it. Strev hasn’t played well but if you set aside your bias and ask yourself: does a system that asks a QB (who has just come off a serious knee injury) to block for his running back put that player in the best position to be successful? No QB has a chance. Nobody on our offensive line is untouchable. Stan stays (if he wants to) to play, provide mentorship and a veteran voice. There are guys who have potential (Wallace) but need to be pushed and replaced (if necessary). WRs. Talent. Plain and simple. We need players who run well, can push veterans and can create space for themselves in the routes they run - that's what we need. NI. Import. Doesn’t matter. Corners specifically need an upgrade. Holm and Nichols are fine but also need serious challengers facing them. Safety is a work in progress and we *may* have a guy on our roster who can play back there but we actually need to give that guy reps and see him work.
  16. It may be a non-issue but for free agents looking to sign somewhere, a coaching staff & management regime not under contract isn't the most attractive place to land.
