  1. If I remember correctly it was a 2 year extension at 140-150K per? Fuzzy on the actual number but I believe that's pretty close.
  2. You'd have to think a guy like Richmond is going to figure in somehow as well. He's a guy they've kept around the last couple of years and I wouldn't be shocked to see them move him to the right side in pre-season to see how he fairs.
  3. Of the two "big" guys that are left for us to potentially re-sign (and I *do* hope we somehow manage both), Schoen for me is the priority. This is a passing league and Schoen is a proven commodity who has demonstrated amazing chemistry with our quarterback. Don't get me wrong, I love the ability to grind down opponents and salt away a game with a dominating rushing attack but running back isn't an area where I'd choose to prioritize spending.
  4. I know continuity is huge when it comes to the offensive line but I'm a little disappointed with this. Now .. having said that .. Eli didn't exactly light the world on fire when he was giving his limited opportunities and that might be part of this. However ... the interior of our line was a HUGE issue at times last year and that starts with who's lined up over the football.
  5. As much as I detest New England, I will be the first to say Belichick is a phenomenal coach but would also say that it's likely neither Brady nor Belichick would have had the success they did without the other. Belichick's downfall was his inability to build and maintain a roster - he failed as a GM.
  6. I appreciate the view and *you* for choosing not to derail the topic (even if this part of the discussion has gone a little sideways).
  7. Lurkers help keep the lights on and if, as a community, we drive those people away it's less likely the lights stay on. In a professional setting are you someone who thinks those in a meeting who are shy, introverted or hesitant to speak are worthless or are you someone who looks for ways to give them a voice? Do you recognize that different views, perspectives and experiences are valuable and hearing them might benefit the team as a whole or are you someone who rejects that person because they lack the confidence to put themselves out there? Food for thought. Frankly, I'd rather this be a place where *anyone* feels safe to contribute .. where those with knowledge foster a spirit of understanding of the game and are humble enough to recognize their opinions are not gospel .. I want more voices, not less.
  8. There's always been a vaccine mandate for healthcare professionals. Yes, I acknowledge there is a dearth of qualified, compassionate healthcare workers in Canada. As one of those million people who doesn't have a family doctor, it's concerning to me. It's equally concerning that I might have someone I care about under the care of a "professional" who is so selfish and self-absorbed that they can't bothered do the bare minimum to keep them safe. As far as I'm concerned, if you aren't willing to do the smallest of things to keep those under your care free from harm then you have no business being in the business you are in.
  9. He performed when he had to and, at the end of the day, that’s all that matters. He’s a champion and an MVP. That can’t be taken away from him. If any number of our star players did the same, the outcome of this last Grey Cup (hell last two Grey Cups) may have been different.
  10. Organizational continuity is HUGE. When you've been as successful as we have for as long as we have now, it's hard to keep all the key players in place. People look for different challenges. Pieces get picked up by other teams. It starts to erode the very thing that helped you "get there". Happy news on a Tuesday morning. I look around the CFL right now and, in terms of vacancies, there are essentially no attractive options. Sure, there's the opportunity to evolve yourself as a coach, get experience and perhaps build something. That is *SO DAMN HARD* when you don't have a quarterback. Stepping into a situation where that position is an unknown is not setting yourself up for success (or a long tenure as a head coach).
  11. This game played out like every other game we lost this year. Out played and out coached in games we SHOULD have won.
  12. Imagine if Fajardo pulls this out and takes home the MVP? I’ll be sick.
  13. Always appreciate a dude who can take a bit of a ribbing. That said .. let’s close this one out.
  14. One had a pedestrian season when compared to his peers ... the other has done something no other player (let alone Canadian) has done in over a decade. Which one truly stood out?
  15. I don’t think Brady uses “disrespect” as motivation but I SINCERELY hope the Bombers offensive line goes out with something to prove. More of a “we’ve got your back” type effort.
