  3. The important part will be what he says and asks for behind closed doors. It is unlikely he tells the media he is here to be traded even if he really is.
  4. At 27 years old or at 7 years in the league. You get arbitration rights after your 2nd contract.
  5. Minny had no choice with Dumba because of their cap situation They had no room to sign him to a 5-6M contracts The Jets do Those guys also didn't hold out for a made up reason. You really think Trouba has had a sudden change of heart? Or he doesn't want to lose a year of earnings and a year towards being a free agent If he wanted to be here long term, there are plenty of comparables to pull from.
  6. I think the fact that this is 2 years and not 6 years like every other comparable D-Man out there speaks volumes. Him and his agent did the right thing by not crapping on Winnipeg because if they had, this 2 year bridge deal wouldn't have turned out well for Trouba the next time he stepped on the ice. A smart agent knows he has no leverage after the ELC and this outcome was a real possibility, and they left that door open by claiming this was about playing the "right side".
  7. Yeah, not sure you trade Myers when you know that Trouba still doesn't want to be here long term. There is a reason Trouba signed a bridge and not a 6 year deal. Of course all that completely depends on what return you can get for Myers and / or Trouba.
  8. Trouba is only 2 years and both are RFA years, that is why it is less. Maata is over 6 years and includes UFA years in there. If it was a longer term deal, Trouba would have got more because you would be buying UFA years. What this basically means, is after this contract, if Trouba keeps on his current trajectory, you won't be getting him in the $5M range, it will be $6 - $8M range, depending on how he does.
  9. $25M PER year. $125M over 5 years.
  10. Have to hold down control and right click on it.
  11. Not a way to build a team. And if you plan to overpay a player may still take less money to play in a preferred city. Winnipeg isn't high up on most players list. It is just too unpredictable.
  12. Free agency is too unpredictable to "plan" on getting anyone.
  13. Picks need to be in by Sunday @ 12PM.
  14. Apparently Durant isn't even dressing for the Saskatchewan game this week. BC is going to slaughter them. The slim chance we had for a home playoff game is pretty much gone.
  15. Last game of the season, game time is 6PM. Ottawa resting a bunch of starters. Win and we are at least 3rd in the West and possibly 2nd. Lose and we are either 3rd in the West or crossing over. Most importantly, team has to play well to get some momentum into the playoffs after their horrible outing last week. Another fun fact: If we win tonight, Ottawa will have 1st place in the East with a sub .500 record. If Edmonton wins this weekend, 4 teams in the West will be above .500.
  16. So the professors at the University of Manitoba went on strike today. Haven't seen anyone talking about how this might impact the Bombers. If we do in fact host a playoff game AND the strike continues for another 2 weeks, what are the chances the professors would setup picket lines on Sunday during the game? It would have a huge impact on game day for people getting in and out. Or is there little chance the profs will come in on a Sunday to picket?
  17. This is pretty much 1 a week after you take the byes out and figure week 1 would be considered "training camp"
  18. Jets will hold his rights until he is 27, at which point he is a UFA. He can ask for arbitration, at which point the Jets could walk away and he would be a UFA.
  19. Pick for this week need to be in by Friday @ 6PM
  20. Not if Trouba is unprotected and Vegas takes him, which is what TUP was talking about. In that situation he is Vegas property and they have the right to match. Jets have to protect Trouba.
