Last game of the season, game time is 6PM. Ottawa resting a bunch of starters. Win and we are at least 3rd in the West and possibly 2nd. Lose and we are either 3rd in the West or crossing over. Most importantly, team has to play well to get some momentum into the playoffs after their horrible outing last week. Another fun fact: If we win tonight, Ottawa will have 1st place in the East with a sub .500 record. If Edmonton wins this weekend, 4 teams in the West will be above .500.

So the professors at the University of Manitoba went on strike today. Haven't seen anyone talking about how this might impact the Bombers. If we do in fact host a playoff game AND the strike continues for another 2 weeks, what are the chances the professors would setup picket lines on Sunday during the game? It would have a huge impact on game day for people getting in and out. Or is there little chance the profs will come in on a Sunday to picket?

This is pretty much 1 a week after you take the byes out and figure week 1 would be considered "training camp"

Jets will hold his rights until he is 27, at which point he is a UFA. He can ask for arbitration, at which point the Jets could walk away and he would be a UFA.

Pick for this week need to be in by Friday @ 6PM

Not if Trouba is unprotected and Vegas takes him, which is what TUP was talking about. In that situation he is Vegas property and they have the right to match. Jets have to protect Trouba.

Pretty good tool here to do mock expansion drafts and protects for each team. Linked to the Jets page, shows who is exempt and who has NMC. Stuart doesn't need to be protected. http://planmyteam.com/NHL/ProtectPlayers?teamid=30

Don't think there was 26k there. HH to the 26000 who bought tickets.

Just saying there is many variables and discussions in this, it really isn't as straight forward of suggesting 'make a deal' for them not to take a player.
-
Depends on if Vegas wants a player for now or picks to build for the future. Otherwise why would they make a deal so they can pick a worse player from us. If I was Vegas I might just say no deal and force the Jets to expose a player like Armia.

PM me the remaining games, and I will take them.

Anyone see anything wrong with this picture?

Here is the scoop .... This patch is scheduled to be released end of November. They say unless a bug is crashing a site, it isn't going to be patched any sooner. And this doesn't qualify. These are the options for the next month: I can disable auto embedding until the patch comes. This would mean that things like pictures, videos, tweets, etc would show up as a link that people would have to click on rather then view-able content. When you paste the link in, it wouldn't auto convert to content. People could still "force" the content to embed, and I can't stop that. This would only apply to new posts after the setting change. People on Internet Explorer will have to put up with this for month. I don't track browser usage, so I have no data on how many people this might affect. So looking for some feedback on how many people actually view the site on IE and how much people would miss embedded content like tweets, videos, and pictures for a month.

Most of the enrolment for Canadian Universities is reserved for Canadians. Limited number of spots for international students. -

Awesome to see the CFL family come together and get this done. Reading through the names of people who have donated, and you see a lot of CFL players, coaches and media who have put in. Some of the big donors I recognised: CFL Alumni Fund - $1,000 Bob Wetenhall - $1,000 Jason Maas = $1,000

Here is an update I received from support: The current status of release 4.1.17 is in development. I've asked for an ETA on when they think it will be released and I have also expressed extreme displeasure on behalf of the Members here who this is affecting. Now that I've read the planned release notes, here is another item coming that should address a common annoyance: This should address the problem when you go to type in a post (or quote a post) and end up not submitting it, but then it keeps showing up over and over when you go to make a new different post.

Announced today that Little is out until end of November.

Comrie would be the next saviour. Might see him this year if both Hutch and Helle don't figure it out.

He has played a grand total of 29 games in the NHL. Have teams adjusted to him? Probably. But you have to now give him time to adjust his game and work through what they are doing. Is there a guarantee he will be able to? No. But to write him off this early in his career is ridiculous IMO. Skaters get sheltered minutes as they adjust to the speed and nuances of the NHL game. Goalies don't get that luxury. He didn't even get eased into the Pros as a backup. All his time spent in the NHL has been with significant starts. He has been stellar in the last few years at lower levels of hockey. Need to give him time to try and evolve his game.

I wouldn't call these A-List defensemen yet. These are good, young, up and coming defensemen that signed these deals after their first entry level deal. They may get to A-List in a few years, not all of them will. The exact same position Myers was in when he signed his deal. A-List D-men right now are people like Doughty ($7M), Weber ($7.8M), Keith ($5.5M - which is a steal), Subban ($9M) Enstrom is probably overpaid for what he is now, but his contract can't even compared to these guys because of all of the RFA years that were bought in those contracts. Enstrom had mostly or all UFA years in his. Myers may be a problem if / when the Jets become a cap team. Until then it doesn't matter. A $2.6M salary for Stuart for this year and next is peanuts and is splitting hairs to complain about. Both Stuart and Enstrom come off the books after next year, so those contracts are not hurting the team at all. Other then Trouba, the only contracts they need to figure out before both of these guys come off the books are Stafford (won't re-sign will free up more space), Burmi (still RFA signed for low or traded, Thorubrn - won't be re-signed, Tanev - 3rd / 4th line RFA, Postma - UFA, Chiarot - RFA won't command a big salary, Helleybuck - RFA who Atomic has decreed as AHL calibre so he will sign for peanuts as well). There are things to fix on this team for sure, but these contracts are not an issue at all.

How so?

Connor gets his shot in the top 6 after sitting out a game. Maurice doesn't want to breakup the Matthias Lowry Armia line. If they are going to keep Armia in the bottom 6, think I'd rather see Tanev with them rather than Matthias. Love the effort and hustle Tanev has on every shift.
