  1. It will be very interesting to see what kind of interest Lirim gets from other teams.
  2. Another interesting article from a guy who both played and reffed the game with experiences on both sides. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Paul-Stewart/No-Sympathy----But-Some-Empathy----for-Wideman/196/74359 He never expands on this tidbit, but I'd love to hear the story about when he was punched by fans in Winnipeg. As much as I've been mad enough off at refs, that is a ridiculous thing to do.
  3. Interesting breakdown on the Wideman cross check from Kerry Fraser. www.tsn.ca/c-mon-ref-a-former-nhl-official-s-take-on-the-wideman-incident-1.429965
  4. I can't find a video of it but they were talking about this on the morning show. Apparently the video angle from the other direction shows he didn't see the ref until the very last second. It was almost as if he was mad about being checked or whatever right before and didn't even realize that was the ref there. The other interesting point is that there was no penalty or game misconduct called on the ice which would typically happen and force a review.
  5. Biggest difference in their careers is The Rock has been the star of a good portion of his movies. Jesse was always supporting cast.
  6. Harris is still under contract with BC and will probably continue to be until free agency officially opens.
  7. I'm aware of his age. The question wasn't about Horcoff specifically, it was about the NHL in general.
  8. If I had to make a pure speculative guess, I would say tip of the iceberg. With millions of dollars at stake for your career and the typical bullet proof mentality of 20-something year-olds, I would be shocked if PED use weren't rampant.
  9. Barkov is 20 years old. That is a lot of expensive RFA years they bought.
  10. So we've basically swapped out Moore for Dressler. Not a bad deal at all.
  11. Lawless is reporting 2 years.
  12. Hutch was really only good for the middle part of the season last year. Pavelec stole the show to get his job back and the winning streak to get the Jets into the playoffs by the end of it. If you look at his career even back when he started in Boston, he has mostly bounced around the AHL and ECHL. It is getting to where his current body of work is more on par with most of his career. It will be interesting to see what the Jets do with him since he is an RFA after this year. With Hellebuyck's showing this year and Comrie in the queue, they will likely try to trade him. Though his value won't be that high.
  13. Where was it reported that his signing was a formality? All the reports I've seen have said that the Bombers have a good offer on the table but he is still talking to other teams. How is that only a formality?
  14. If the CFLPA really wants the salaries published, couldn't they just disclose them themselves? Create their own CFLPACapGeek site. If the reason is to use the salaries as leverage, then they don't need to be public, they only need to be published amongst the players and agents. Then again, technically the NHL doesn't officially publicly publish salaries, just more eyes and leaks on them I suppose.
  15. I would guess he would be in the $180k - $220k range
  16. Isn't this what every free agent does?
  17. The reality is that the Jets care about salary more than cap hit.
  18. Situation is going from bad to worse in Tampa and Drouin isn't doing himself any favours.
