  1. Hard to say about Holm, how much of those times he was exposed was due to having new and underwhelming corners. I would be inclined to let OShea and Walters determine worth
  2. thankyou but I saw enough of Bridges, Bonds and even Lawson jt last year to not want to lose any of Allen, Nichols, and Holm. I'd also keep Houston.
  3. There is truth to the statement Walters made that we have to surround Zac with more talent. His deterioration has coincided with that of the oline and to a lesser extent the receivers. The only way he turns it around is if he actually gets protection, and the offense as a whole executes some decent game plans
  4. a lot of posters here make it sound like this team has been awful. Last year was the only time we didn't finish 1st and that requires changes. Every other year we were in it with a genuine chance to win it going into the games. At some point we need to acknowledge that the job O'Shea and Walters has done is commendable. Theres a reason both Hamilton and Toronto wanted O'Shea. ALso a reason that we have sold out the stadium more than any other team Yeah O'Shea can have blinders on but its usually about some marginal player being replaced by another marginal player. In the overall scheme it didn't cost us the game being discussed. Yes, after last season we need to make changes and retool certain areas namely the oline and dline. Its okay to criticize but at the same time its ok to acknowledge the strengths.
  5. Maybe I'm optimistic but there is reason to believe that it isn't business and usual for next season. This is the first time I've heard O'Shea talk about not having done a good enough job coaching especially the offense. Both O'Shea and Walters realize that last year was a step back and that's also something they have never admitted in previous seasons. (usually all we hear is how this team has great leadership and they will figure it out) Walters stated that they needed to do a better job of surrounding Zac with talent, another indicator of change (he also talked about how it's easier to revamp your team with all the one year contracts being the norm for most teams)
  6. Actually didnt care for Hodges little side takes. Osh was pretty straight forward in hes not interested in gm role. Also recognizes that lywasn't good enough and he has to adjust h4is coaching style to be more involved in day yo day coaching
  7. OShea has always done it according to some formula in his head, but this upcoming year I'm hoping (maybe unrealsitically) he and Walters take a good hard look at what went wrong in '25 that we finished 4th in the western conference. And what is needed to change. Our offense was disjointed and lacked direction. Our oline wasn't good enough. Our dline was in the bottom 3rd of the league. (hard work +Experience) > talent
  8. I get it but it also infers we need stronger talent at cdns, which has always been an element of stronger teams, just look at Sask with Emilus, Schafer baker, Campbell. You dont get stronger by losing your best cdns to other teams. Ford, and Dobson are recent examples of us getting weaker.
  9. yeah but not all cdns players are equal, unless youd like an even more steady diet of JT
  10. Thing is signing Brady allows us an import elesewhere , hopefully on the oline. A decent cdn lineman would cost 220 plus so the savings isnt as much as youd think. So Id really go in on Brady
  11. the football gods are on the riders side this year. Lauther saying thankyou
  12. I'll say this for the riders, at least their OC had a decent gameplan. Olivera probably saying see Hogan "RUN THE BALL"
  13. https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/29/elks-extend-tyrell-ford-through-2027/ If your going to try to get a cdn starter thru free agency chances are you"ll overpay
  14. Starting Cdns are amongst the highest paid Dline Robbie SMith at 305k (tell me that isnt a bigger overpay than Olivera), then next is Betts Dback - 3 of the top 4 highest paid are cdns - Ford (and he was just reupped at 230k), Dequoy, and Campbell (How is Kramdl the highest paid db on our team btw = other than because hes cdn) Oline top 3 salaries are cdn Hunter, Ferland Korte Recievers McInnis is the 2nd highest Demski 4th, and tell me how Gittens jr isnt a massive overpay at 210k. Just wait til mtrl's Philpot hits free agency this upcoming year. the highest paid rb as you mentioned Brady is in a class by himself and at qb another cdn Roarke.
  15. Neither are overpays as thats what the market is for starting top cdns, just like Dobson,Ford, Mcinnis.robbie Smith etc. For the most part we have been unwilling to go go there so we ended up losing both Dobson and Ford and unable to replace them adequately. We tried to get "deals" which never happened
  16. Im not sure about losing Demski or Olivera, after all how many were convinced that OShea and Walters would be back. I think its more about what happens with the OC position that effects Brady and what we are willing to pay.
  17. By any measure for the last 6 years we have been the best performing team on and off the field. Both OShea and Walters deserve to be back
  18. Maybe Bryant and or Jefferson, Lawson and Olivera.
  19. The thing that might end up keeping OShea here is loyalty not to Wpg, but to the group of vets that want one more crack at winning See Zac's comments of wanting to return with the group he's battled with.
  20. If OShea goes I wouldn't be surprised to hear Walters stay. . As for head coach maybe Khari or Calvillo?
  21. something for osh to think about, theres a reason Dinwiddie didnt even listen to a counteroffer from Toronto.
  22. In a way I think Hamilton/Bo levi fell into the Lawler trap, hes so good the qb focuses in on him and becomes almost one dimensional. Lawler had more targeted receptions and yards than White, Bridges and Smith combined. Those receivers are too good not to be utilized more
  23. That doesnt explain why the no other team picked him up last year if as you say hes the most respected coach . Younger is more likely to get a hc than Jackson in the near future. Edmonton was a gong show in regards to their qb situation regardless of the pressure. He may be a good coach its just we have zero evidence during his time with this organization. I would much rather see us go outside our organization for once to replace Hogan, We need some new perspective
  24. What did Jackson contribute this year to make him desirable as OC? There wasn't a single group on offence that didn't look disjointed. Nor has any player that I|ve seen commented that hes a good coach. an interesting combo Justin Dunk might be Kyle Carson as GM and Mark Meuller as hc
