  1. I don't recall ever observing Jackson's football abilities receiving sincere acclaim. The comments I've encountered were clearly draped in playful jest.
  2. The award is for the Most OUTSTANDING Player. Kelly has performed exceptionally well as a first-year starter, but he hasn't quite reached the level of "outstanding". I can't recall any truly exceptional individual plays, highlight-reel throws, or remarkable sack evasions from him. Zach Collaros is undeniably an outstanding QB. Nathan Rourke was unquestionably outstanding last year. Chad Kelly took over the reigning Grey Cup Champion squad and has kept them performing consistently. On the other hand, Brady Oliveira has truly been outstanding this year. He has made numerous exceptional individual efforts, dominated in the fourth quarter, excelled in all the RB statistical categories, and amassed over 2000 yards of individual offense. He is undoubtedly the most outstanding player of the 2023 season, and he achieved this with a Canadian passport to boot. The CFL media should give him the respect he deserves.
  3. My ex-great-aunt-in-law saw on X that he tore his perineum.
  4. We must keep Ford contained within the pocket (shoutout to speedsters Brian Cole and Jamal Parker) and force him to rely on his arm. If he manages to break outside the tackles, our core team's speed isn't what it used to be, and he could keep Edmonton in the game by scrambling for yardage. If luck happens to favor Edmonton during the game, it's a real cause for concern, they've looked much improved in weeks passed. But let's all radiate positivity into the ether this week to shift the luck equation in favor of the blue and gold.
  5. Here's my hot take: Our coaching, team culture, and in-game adjustments have been quite effective this year, concealing the challenges we face with roster management decisions, an aging roster, and a lack of impactful recruits.
  6. He made an impact in the first few weeks, and he sealed the win with a sack against Hamilton(?), showing impressive individual athleticism. However, it appears he might be deficient in one aspect of his game, potentially struggling in run defense. In years past we ran 3 American DEs, so someone else, likely aged, took that spot. And our d-line has suffered from this decision.
  7. Put Parker or Cole in that position. These upcoming two games should serve as auditions for some of our depth players like them, Eli, Dobson, Haba, and BOLO, to determine if they can step up and secure full-time roles for next season.
  8. Haba? I'm puzzled as to why he's on the practice roster when he's proven his abilities on the field.
  9. Did he actually say that? Can you p provide a link that quotes him? In professional sports, that kind of talk is weak. Your opponents work incredibly hard to improve every year, and if you're not participating in that race, as we've seen this year, it's a problem.
  10. I appreciate you sharing this. If you've been objectively watching our games this year, all the points you've made are undeniably evident. The level of denial, optimism, and unwavering loyalty in the responses to your post is truly astonishing. You're speaking the truth here. It does make you wonder if we've lost some scouts in recent years. Apart from Schoen, our recruitment efforts seem to have fallen short, and the lack of depth on our gameday rosters is a clear indicator of this.
  11. Your strong bias towards the blue team is quite evident in this post. It's clear that our team is displaying signs of aging this year, and I anticipate significant departures during the offseason to lower the average age and offload veteran salaries of several players you've mentioned.
  12. They should consider implementing some kind of flag cannon, maybe even repurposing a t-shirt cannon, so that fans in the stands are immediately aware when the booth makes a call. Currently, there's no communication within the stadium, which can lead to confusion for in-person fans who have no clue what's happening, why the game stopped, or why the refs are moving the ball.
  13. That pick-six is unquestionably one of the most embarrassing plays of the year. Time to hang 'em up Bo! LOL
  14. So true! It's becoming very tiresome that any opinion or comment contrary to the opinionated personal views of a few passionate posters leads to ad hominem attacks and immature personal insults. There's a wealth of potential for meaningful, intelligent discussions that gets pushed to the sidelines every week because it irrationally offends a select subgroup.
  15. From my viewpoint, just a few rows ahead of you I suspect, it seemed like he was quite eager to get back in the game if the coaches and trainers had allowed him. He stood on the sideline, looking ready to play the entire time. I didn't spot him on the trainer's table (which was right in front of my seats). I only realized he was out of the game when I noticed that BOLO was in. The atmosphere at that game was truly amazing! It felt incredibly special to be surrounded by a sea of Blue. It was also the most nerve-wracking and thrilling game I've experienced in the 5+ years I've been attending Bomber games at BC Place as an expat.
  16. That description reminds me of our championship-winning team in 2019.
  17. I used to live in Winnipeg but now call Vancouver home. I must say, I admire what the Lions have achieved in terms of marketing and enhancing the fan experience since Doman took ownership. Attending games in BC has become a lot more enjoyable in the past couple of seasons. I make sure to catch all the Winnipeg and Edmonton games (my good friend's favorite team) when they're in BC.
  18. Number of passes defended? And how many completions allowed?
  19. 🙄 you know what I mean. He's not a shut down anything this year, still good but he's regressed, as the whole defense has.
  20. He hasn't lived up to the reputation of being a shutdown corner this year, he's been beaten more frequently than past seasons. It's possible that it's due to the support around him. It's been pretty easy to see that he's been receiving considerably more camera time on TSN this year. Like I said he used to be almost invisible in television coverage.
  21. Did you properly read my post before making assumptions that directly contradict what I had stated? Geez Louise 🙄
  22. Perhaps, but he's been having a down year compared to his usual standards. You can see him making tackles every game now, whereas in the past few years, he was ghost because the play rarely went in his direction.
  23. Has any other rookie managed to make an impact across all three phases of the game? Jackson for Most Outstanding Rookie and Holm for Most Outstanding Defensive Player! 😉
