  1. West Semi Final -- 11 of 21 for 193 yards and a TD West Final -- 17 of 25 for 267 yards and a TD Grey Cup -- 17 of 23 for 170 yards I think the argument that is being made here, and that the Bombers were a 3rd place team, Streveler was at least somewhat injured (and underwhelming as a non-gadget player) and the depth QB was Sean McGuire. If you don't pick up Collaros, maybe you grab another QB instead and not have to trot him out there, but McGuire with his one career start, 15-36 for 221 yards that includes 1 TD against 4 interceptions doesn't really inspire much confidence.
  2. Different situation in the NFL obviously because you can get a QB in the draft, but Peyton and Luck were never on the same roster. Manning messing up his neck had the Colts suck for Luck, and Peyton was released to join the Broncos. Manning managed to get Osweiler a fat contract as his backup, and when he retired he was succeeded by Trever Simian, Paxton Lynch (remember him?!?) and then Case Keenum over the next 3 years... so not exactly anyone to write home about. 2 success stories I can actually think about in the NFL are Rivers to Herbert, and Smith to Mahomes. The NFL is quite a different beast though, the quality of QBs sitting on the bench is obviously far higher.
  3. I dont think football coaches with a legitimate MVP quarterback stay up at night working about QB Depth. I always fondly remember someone asking the Colts OC why their Peyton's backups didn't get more reps, "Fellas, if 18 goes down we're ******, and we don't practice ******." Probably pretty similar to how everyone feels about Collaros.
  4. I was reading an article about the Ottawa game and it highlighted a real issue I see with how people deal with analytics vs 'the eye test'. Dude was complaining about how PFF was rating Crum so poorly compared to even say Collaros. You can do the right thing and have a bad outcome, and you can do the wrong thing and have a good outcome. I think with QBs this is a bit more obvious if there is a clear read progression. You can't really complain about a QB missing an open guy if he was the 4th or 5th read against a blitz. As a RB, there is only so much you can do if you run where you are supposed to and the hole slams shut, but if you mess up the hand off and end up having to spin around and bounce outside for 35 yards, that really isn't a super positive play 95% of the time.
  5. Geez I'm not sure entirely whats going on but the Bombers are trying singlehandedly to keep the league scoring average up. If my Math is correct, when the Bombers play there is an average of 74 points in the game. If the Bombers aren't playing it goes all the way down to 35.
  6. Looking at Keon Hatchers twitter and woof. Retweeting Andrew Tate and Daily Wire "What is a Woman". BC Lions PR should probably have a sit down with him.
  7. Does the rain affect the pre-game tailgate? Taking the kids tonight and they love the bouncy setup at the game haha
  8. This isn't a fair comparison though, the Bombers only got to play the Elks twice 🤣
  9. I wonder if something happened near the end of the season to coincide with this 🤔
  10. XFL Season runs until May 13th, CFL Training Camp opens on May 16th. Wonder if some players are trying to double dip. I'm not sure the contract requirements in the XFL but I know players can dip if they get NFL offer, wonder if its a 2 year contract with an out or if its year to year with an option.
  11. For me the play is the Prukop interception. Grant kick return TD for take the lead. Missed PAT which was 👎. Hold the Argos to a FG on their next drive. 13 yard pickup by Oliveria. And then for whatever reason you have Prukop out there bombing a pass into double coverage and its picked and all the momentum generated by the kick return TD evaporates and the field is tilted in favor of the Argos.
  12. It's like an advent calendar but instead of chocolate it's all my favorite Blue Bombers being resigned.
  13. Isn't Huff like 20 years older than O'Shea? Not sure if Buck is willing to wait 15 years for O'Shea to reach retirement age and want to move upstairs.
  14. The reason for the language is that for 95% of the cases you are never going to exceed that. Some canadian DB? Maybe throw them a bone (up to 10% increase) in their option year and you have more than one year of control. Or cut them loose if they don't work out When you have a generational Canadian QB (Rourke) or a very good receiver (KSB) you tear up the option year and keep them happy. This is a good look going forward because NCAA Canadians who might be considering doing the journeyman PR thing down south see that if they come back home and play well for a couple of years they will get paid one way or another. Also... if you opt out of the contract... you aren't on the first contract any more? why would you be beholden to the salary grid for 1st contracts at that point?
  15. In the 2+1 Draft Pick Contract the "Option Year" is the +1. Yes, the base salary of the "Option year" is required to be no more than 10% of the 2nd year base salary. What happens if the team chooses to not "opt into" the "Option Year" of the draftee? Are they (the draftee) required to sign a single year contract at a rate not more than 10% of their 2nd year salary with whoever will have them? Is any team that signs them for any length of time required to have that first year be no more than 10% of the 2nd year?
  16. I think Bighill and Jefferson end up staying. They are pretty entrenched in the community. I'd worry about Jeffcoat. Seemed like he took a bit of convincing to come back this year, he had a bit of a rough season injury wise as well.
  17. What was the deal with the player package on that Prukop interception? That came off of a 13 yard Brady run for a first down, and only the 2nd play of the drive. I thought Prukop was effective where he gets a short yardage first down, and they keep him out there and try to catch the opponent with a mismatched package, either for a designed run outside or a quick pass... was he out there at the start of the drive or did they sub off Collaros for that play?
  18. Brady was drafted in 2019, he theoretically should have signed a 2+1 deal then. He signed a 2 year contract extension this off season. What happened with contracts during the cancelled season? I know players didn't get paid, but did their contracts toll? Were all 2019 draft picked in their option year or were they playing out the 2nd actual year of their deal?
  19. The Bombers the past few years have seemed to be able to identify the exact moment in a game where they can execute on an opportunity and really take it to the other team. The moment last night was after the Grant Punt Return. The 4th Quarter Bombers should have run away with the game after that point. However what happened was Missed XP Inexplicable RTP penalty and letting them get a FG to bring it to with 3 Inexplicable bomb by Prukop on the second play after a great Brady run to give Argos the ball back and the Argos are back in the game. Despite all the perceived short comings... the Bombers had a chance to win at the end of game. It's too bad that little pass to Demski didn't make it over the DL but I'm not sure why you don't keep riding Brady there.
  20. I think the sequence going with Grant getting the TD, missing the XP, letting the Argos drive for a FG and then that terrible Prukop arm punt was the turning point. You have this amazing play that should tilt the field against the Argos but you let them chip back into the game. If there is any silver lining, losing the game in such a manner might keep the team together more for next year. 3 straight and you might see some of the grizzled vets ride off into the sunset. Miserable end to the game might keep them wanting more!
  21. I like making Slow Cooked Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches. The kids enjoying making these with me https://www.simplyscratch.com/baked-homemade-pizza-rolls/
  22. How do we really know that is Collaros? That could be anyone in a #8 Jersey!
