Yeah, I bought into Macksymic too from 2022. I’ll happily admit to being wrong. but he’s clearly one dimensional. Multiple RB’s and can’t/won’t run the ball. If the QB can’t hit a bunch of deep shots, they have no answers.

It’s wild how successful Mike Reilly was in his short time as HC, and he’s barely mentioned with the other great coaches. I think we would have won at least one more cup had he stuck around, his departure really hurt the club.

Yeah, that’s the type of versatility the club loves too. If he can keep it up in the heavy set he could carve out a nice career as 2-way depth, or (maybe jumping the gun a bit) even grow into a serviceable starting OL in a few years.

There’s zero standard for competence for officials. I don’t see anything changing until they start paying and training them better. Anecdote- When my daughter was in an Edmonton hospital in 2021, one of her nurses was the line judge on the top CFL reffing crew (Proulx) He left a full shift on one of the busiest paediatric wards in the country to go home, eat and ref the Bomber/Edmonton game that same night. If it’s their second job, they’re going to perform like it. You get what you pay for.

Are there many good ones though? Especially younger? There’s 4 guys over 6’2 in the top 20 receivers this year. Coxie, McInnis, Rhymes and Shemar Bridges. Besides Bridges, they’ve all been around a while. Everyone else is in the 5’11- 6’1, 175-200lb range. There’s some NI freaks like Mardner and that kid Edmonton took in the supplemental draft, but I don’t see many really tall American receivers having a lot of success up here since the NFL PR expansion.
