  1. I didn't explain football to booch, I explained the testing procces. Which I have expereince with in the last couple years. Took the punishment like a man? He never admitted guilt or even took responsibility for what was in his body even if it was a mistake, which I beleive there is a good chance that it was. Leonard hasn't even spoke or made a statement so its hard to say how he took it. I am willing to give a guy a pass for being frustrated. You want to get out of the stadium after a bad loss and you are forced to take a piss test but can't pee because you are dehydrated. Then you are forced to stay there for four hours and you are hungry dehydrated and pissed off. I dont think his frustration is that far fetched. He took his frustration out on the wrong person and made a mistake but I am willing to forgive him if he is willing to admit responsibly
  2. Except they wont. This is false. There is a limited amount that you are able to drink. Things have changed since you have played Booch. But the Bombers should get a free pass for Andrew Harris' failed test last year? This place is so hypercritical it is funny.
  3. I wouldn't blame dinwiddies play calling I think he called a pretty decent game. Good use of motion and misdirection to get some free yards. Arbuckle also missed about 3 throws off play action that could have gone for big plays. If he connects on those the game could have been different.
  4. Stop complaining about the schedule. It all evens out at the end. Now the Riders have to finish most of the games on the road for the next two months. I am not too sure how that really benefits them?
  5. As a rider fan, this may be a hard one to watch.
  6. CGY went from looking like crap to playing a solid game. I think next week will be more of a measuring stick for the stamps then the bombers. I didn't watch the Bombers game but the score flattering them is kind of what I saw on here and twitter. The reality is in a full season even the best teams are going to have 1 or 2 games where they are off for whatever reason, it sounds like that was the Bombers yesterday.
  7. Riders look pretty good. Defence will be tough for anyone to play against. A little worried about the offence and the inability to create big plays. Losing Evans and JWL is not going to help. Labour day/Banjo bowl will be a big test. Will be interesting to see how the Riders and Bombers stack up as I still believe they are the two best teams in the league even after the bombers showing yesterday.
  8. I love this place, it is actually comical coming here and reading the takes of how trash the Riders are. They just steamrolled a team that you guys beat last week by way less of a margin but that win shouldnt count. I dont know why some of you guys have such a issue saying the Riders may actually have a good football team. Also Cody Fajardo looks like a starting QB not a medicore back up, hey booch?
  9. The story line of the season for the Riders is the mono outbreak on the OLine. They have 2 or 3 guys down with it already and could potentially have more diagnosed in the coming days. With people taking time off it might be hard for them to field an oline. I heard they only had 6 at practice this week becayse of mono/injuries.
  10. I think any offence wants to get rid of the ball quickly. Look at Tom Brady/Drew Brees they are always getting rid of the ball quickly post snap. It is a sign of a offence that is functioning well. Considering that the Riders averaged the second most yards per play last year behind only Hamilton I don't think this getting rid of the ball quickly was a huge hinderance i dont even know if it is true as their is no stats on that. I would like to see some stats on what the teams average time from snap to pass were and depth per target. Unfortunately the CFL doesn't have the stats readily available.
  11. Riders squeeze there tackles more then other teams. All teams will squeeze if they the d is showing a plus one pre snap or another situation. Every team in the CFL would have some sort of zone protection in pass pro. If you did old school man pro it would be easy to game plan for that based on stunts/games up front. You won't see any team run a man protection much past high school. You also don't want to ever see a olineman flip their hips in pass pro and not be square to the line. So that leverage/angle would do nothing unless you are in run blocking. Unless I am miss understanding the statement in the 4th paragraph. You also said the guard would get the edge rusher which doesn't make much sense.
  12. Oh I'm 100% worried about the Oline this discussion was about 2019 Oline not this years. The Riders season could look alot like BC's in 2019 if the line struggles. Not super worried about Dline, it won't be as good but I think will be league average playing two American DTs should help and AC is a good DE but the other side if for sure a question mark. Linebackers I don't personally value as important as the line, with Lacey being there they should be okay. I am more worried about SAM in the linebacker core as that is an important position and it looks like they have a raw rookie starting there. Derrick Moncreif will be the biggest loss I think.
  13. First statement is false. If you actually believe that I challenge you to watch the games again. Biggest busts=High draft picks. Shepley was not drafted and signed two different times. So that comparison is off. Shepley has been invited to 3 camps and has been invited back to the same team that had him the year before. He is also not an outlier for size or athleticism in the NFL so you can't say he is just there because of his size. I'm agreeing with you on Bond, I pretty much said that didnt I? As far as the short set it can be harder on the tackle. If you are reading inside out on a shallow set then you have to react to a speed rusher on the outside that puts alot of pressure on the tackles athletic ability. Being able to just kick deep and get there against a guy like Willy Jefferson puts you in a better postion. The shallow set almost puts you in a chase mode off the bat.
  14. Labbatte is still good. He is not in the 2015 level but he is still one of the best guards in the CFL when healthy. He is not a liability. Saying he is not an asset is pure ignorance or trolling. Clark is a solid center. He is not the best in the league, Sean Macewan is very good and Ucambre Williams is up there when he plays centre but he is still very solid and is easily in the next tier. You have to be a good football player to get 2 chances at the NFL like Dakota Shepley, he had one stint after his UBC days and he was on 49ers pr for most of last year and even dressed for a couple games. If Shepley shakes free from the 49ers and come back to CFL he will be an automatic upgrade on most teams oline. Even the bombers. As far as the Dennis/Bond that is the last regime, Bond was brought in to see if he could play tackle and he couldnt so he was released. Dennis was brought in and was a little out of shape. He also struggled to transition to the Riders protection differences from Calgary and how they asked him to play (im not going to get into this because it is actually pretty complicated) but essentially the Riders have their tackles to set shallow in work alot with the guard. Where the stamps guards had freedom to set vertical.
  15. I presented facts, these are things that can be measured and are all true. I would like to see you dispute these facts with some actual arguments not just your feelings and parroting narratives and talking points without much substance.
  16. Dog **** but gave up the second lowest sack total only behind Winnipeg which passed at a lot lower rate. Had a CFL hall of famer at LG, and all star centre, and Right guard that stuck in the NFL for the last year. Add in the fact that their 6th and 7th olineman are now projected starters on another team and the reality is a little different then the narrative here.
  17. I dont know about that. Hard to prepare for 4 retirements at the same position in the weeks before the season.
  18. There will be changes to the offence which will be negatives. Lapo is one of the best at using motion to create angles in the run game that give a huge advantage. He was constantly evolving this which really allowed Harris and Streveler to be very successful. The argument can be made that the passing game will improve with Buck and overall it will be a net benefit but thats not a guarantee.
  19. Ya he kind of played all over but it was mostly disguised stuff. Like at the snap go from stand up linebacker looking like he is spying the QB to playing a deep half. Things that kind of shock the offence. If he lined up consistently in spot that required coverage and the offence can plan for him I think he would be picked apart. I think more likely he may replace Richardson or maybe a linebacker in passing situations and be used as a blitzer , qb spy and occasionally moved around like maybe bring a safety blitz and he drops out and covers for Alexander or whoever is at safety. I think a pass rush group of Jefferson, Antigha, Kongbo, and Jeffcoat could potentially get after the Qb at an extremely high rate.
  20. I dont know if Antigha has the coverage skills to play there every down. I would expect him to be a situational pass rusher/situational player. He can drop into a zone once in while but I dont think I would trust him in man coverage on a regular basis.
  21. Ya as a Rider fan I feel the same way over here. Now that fans are able to go might get a little bit more. I find myself jonesing for any CFL news. I have been trying to follow the bombers camp also as I have a couple former teammates at camp and want to hear about how they are doing. I might go watch the Riders scrimmage of Saturday. Too bad the planned Riders vs Bombers scrimmage couldn't have happened as planned this coming up weekend. Would have been nice to go watch that. I think I would have had a combined 6 or 7 friends playing on the field between the two teams.
  22. Was Maston playing Sam for you guys? I wonder how this effects how you line up? I think Darby played safety last year for most of the year in TO but he is versatile. Maybe he plays safety and you move Alexander to SAM? Also any report from camp on who is lining up to the boundary in you defensive backfield? Replacing Rose and Sayles is probably the Bombers biggest question heading into this season.
  23. From an outside fan perspective I think Lawler has the chance to be your best receiver. I really like Darvin Adams and think he is a very complete reciever but I think he is probably at his peak in play. I see Lawler as having room to improve. I remember him burning Purifoy in the West Final for a long touchdown on a corner route. Something not many receivers did in 2019.
  24. I talked to a player at camp. He said that all the injuries happened on the same drill. It seems like maybe that drill was too hard to with coming out of quarantine.
  25. Achilles can be a variety thing, it can be related to over work or being tired, a calf injury that is not healed ei Kevin Durant in the 2019 finals, taking steriods or being out of shape. Lots of these non contact injuries are freak so as injuries happen in camp don't assume it is because someone is out of shape.
