  1. I think this would be sounds logic to deny the BC offer but it is a totally different oganization. New Owner, new front office, new coaching staff. There really isnt much connection or bad feelings towards this group.
  2. I gurantee every team does something similar. I bet there is a condo somewhere in Winnipeg that a bombers board member or a friend of wade miller owns that houses many bomber players at a somewhat reduced rate. If anything teams like Sask,Winnipeg are at a bigger advantage with this being in a smaller community.
  3. should help with cap situation though. Have him on 6 game for half the year. Only half of his contract would count against the cap. Then get him for the stretch run and playoffs. Honestly not a horrible situation.
  4. As a non bombers fan I would disagree. I also dont think it would be one or the other. I dont think BA would get a massive pay day as in over 150,000 just for the reason that not many teams play american at safety. I know he isnt just a safety but to me he is an above average halfback but the leagues best safety.
  5. you're correct. CFL.ca said he was on the free agency list but after a google search i can see he signed 6 days ago.
  6. As a sask fan stay away from Moncrief, I want him back. Looking at FA list I wonder if the Bombers would be interested in Zach Williams from Calgary. Played pretty well last year for the stamps, honestly might have been the second best LG in the CFL behind Desjarlias. He is from Brandon and played at U of M. If you guys lose Couture and Eli could have some money to spend on a veteran guy from another team.
  7. As a rider fan that for sure soured me to Duke Williams. I was willing to give him the pass for the Lemon incident as it seemed like Lemon just lost his cool and came up with an excuse, especailly that there was no evidence to back it up. But when something dirty happens the next week that starts to be a trend. I do think Duke is the best receiver in the CFL though. He can change the game. If he leaves the Riders I hope he goes to Ottawa for a ridiculous amount of money and we don't have to worry about playing him in meaningful games.
  8. I cant imagine you guys would lose all 3. I think it is reasonable to lose one guy. But my guess is you get two out of 3 or 1 and sign a veteran american like Wieneke. With his family in Minnesota and the fact that his parents drive to every game you would think would make you guys the favorite if he leaves montreal.
  9. Isn't every contract signed now from guys going from CFL to NFL a futures contract? I think it just states they go on the 90 man roster and dont count against the cap to the new league year starts in march. I think it is standard for any player that didnt finish the year on a NFL active roster.
  10. Problem is those guys dont really shake lose from the NFL. I would not be shocked if Kalinic sticks down there as 3rd TE. He is a very good blocker and a strong special teams players. He isn't super athletic so don't see him giving much in the passing game as he didn't do much up here but lots of teams have blocking TEs and special teams players as their third TE.
  11. The play clock difference is way overblown. The NFL starts the play clock almost immediately. In the CFL they wait for substitution, refs ready then blow it in. If you did an average time between each play the difference would be much smaller then you think.
  12. Well his contract was up in Feb so if he went down there and gets cut in TC he still could have signed anywhere. I dont really see him as an NFL player. I dont think he has the speed or explosivness to get off the line without the waggle. Interesting that he lost all that weight between 2019-2021. He played TE in college in the states and I think that would pprobably be a better position for him in the NFL. Shaffer Baker is better and morre explosive. It does suck losing Canadians to the NFL though especially a guy that is 24/25 and you think could be a building block in the future. Super nice guy and is dating a regina girl so hopefully he comes back if he shakes loose.
  13. I am a Texas Football fan. He was a big deal down there and a super highly recruited guy out of highschool. I remember being disappointed seeing him sign with the bombers as a rider fan. Nice to see him down there promoting the league to a bunch of guys that could potentially be thinking about coming up here in the feature.
  14. Desjarlais should get a solid NFL look. Teams are always looking for lineman, I think he has the skills to stick also. The only thing that might go against him is his height. He would probably have to move to centre. I think the two DBs also have a decent shot. I am always a little hesitant with the slot back to nfl transition that Lawler would have to make. Having the waggle is a big advantage especially for guys that might not be explosive. His 4.60 fourty time 5 years ago kind of shows that is him. I would expect him to maybe get a look but if he does I think he would be a guy that ends up north of the border again next year.
  15. I am not sure on the timeline of events. I am sure Jones made an offer to Willie but he left for the NFL in January and then Willie left for the Winnipeg that following Feb. It will be interesting to see how Jones attracts guys or his guys back to Edmonton this off season especially on the defensive side of the ball. Guys like Willie Jefferson, Edem, Purifoy, Marshall, Gainey, McCoil. Even Moncreif who is back in Regina telling people that he thinks he will be back with the Riders next year. He gave all these guys there shots in the CFL and for whatever reason guys feel a weird loyalty towards jones whether that be formal players or coaches. How much is the Grey Cup bonus do you know Booch? I was suprised how little the players get for the first two rounds of the playoffs after talking to a player on the riders this past week.
  16. So we are just going to ignore the tweet that DT put out later that said he had no riders on his all star ballot ? He is just simply stating facts in this tweet and everyone here seems to be the one getting upset.
  17. I am sure nervous right now as a rider fan. IDK how you guys are hanging in there.
  18. Ticats are winning based on the pre snap. Good pressures on defence coming from different looks. Good motion on offence on a few key plays on offence that led to misdirection of Winnipegs d and big plays.
  19. As an outsidie observer I am jealous of you guys and that special feeling that you get when your team plays in a championship game. As a CFL fan I am cheering for a great game and hoping the CFL can build off the momentum of two exciting games in the Division finals. My keys to the game for both teams are: Winnipeg: dont make the big mistake. Whether that be a costly turnover, or giving up a big play to Hamilton's offence. I think Winnipeg wins this game if they control the ball with their offensive line and consistently make Hamilton have long sustained drives on offence. This style of game favours the bombers for sure. Hamilton: Start fast. As someone that was at the 2013 grey cup in Regina I appreciate what the home crowd can do in such a big game. If they start fast they can get the crowd into it and ride some momentum against a superior team. If they don't they could be in trouble. My prediction: 27-17 Bombers Top Canadian: Harris 150 combined yards MVP: Lawler with two touchdowns.
  20. Pretty good list. A few changes I think I would wish they would do is put 5 Receivers in all star teams, essentially the 5 reciever set is base in the CFL it seems. I understand the point of having an all star fullback but I think they can just have an extra position. I would also put your guy's left guard on it over Chungh.
  21. yes and again another thing they overcame this year. I dont think it is fair to blame mass for the struggles or for all of them. He was kind of handcuffed. The oline vs dline matchup today favoured you guys big time especially at our offensive tackles.
  22. Riders need to invest in the oline. I think there was a circular cycle of oline struggling, mass afraid to trust the oline so that effects the play calling, and fajardo not trusting oline. This resulting in him scrambling early, not stepping into throws resulting in him floating throws and also looking at the rush and not at the defence.
  23. So when the riders make plays it the bombers playing like crap but when the bombers make plays it is how dominant they are. Okay got it. thanks for the clarification. Oh and also everyone, the riders got lucky and got everyones worst game all year.
  24. but i thought all stars didnt matter 2 pages ago? Also you have missed my point. I never said the riders are the better team. My point is the riders dont get the respect they deserve as being a solid team on here, and i beleive today proved that. According to you guys this game was going to be over after the first quarter.
