  1. I'd rather not because he is not that big, but plays with a big heart. At his age, there would be a good chance of getting him dinged up. Would prefer to save him for the receiving corps.
  2. Agree 100%. Nichols is not the problem, he is the QB that can take this team to a GC win. I have seen Bomber teams win a GC with a lot less. Personnel wise, I think they might be closer than I thought. This team needs to develop a killer instinct and when they do... look out
  3. After last night I tend to agree. Sask is better than some might think, particularly their receiving corps and Glenn played well. The defense played better than I expected for the first game and I think it will give BLM all he can handle. If Bombers don't go ultra conservative they should be in the game competitively with a shot to win it.
  4. Going into this season I personally questioned whether the receivers Bombers have are good enough to stretch a defense when the game is on the line. The performance last night of both Adams and Dressler has changed my mind on that. I'm starting to think it's the system they are running that is responsible for the lack of big plays consistently. When they fall behind and Lapo opened it up the receiving Corp did what it waz supposed to do. I find it frustrating that they do not play wide open like that all the time. Particularly when they are playing a defense that shows no signs of being able to stop the big plays. Would really like to see them play wide open throttle all game against Calgary...
  5. Bombers have to avoid the 2 and outs, but its good to see the defense play tough on that first series
  6. Happy Canada Day! Bombers need to come out strong today and win convincingly. I still have some doubts regarding their receivers and overall scheme on defense, but we will see. I'd like to see this team have some receivers like BC, Calgary, Edmonton, or even Sask. Can't wait for kick off....
  7. Also, if there is one player that you don't mind thinking about making that big hit first, that player would be Lofler. You gotta love the physical way he plays - Old School There used to be a Canadian safety named Scott Flagel...
  8. That's great, but I'd prefer it if that was not "Plan A"... "Plan A" should be to stop the offensive player from making the play. Stripping the ball or picking off the next pass needs to be considered "Plan B".
  9. Welcome to our team. Bombers have sorely missed a physical presence at receiver - one that can catch a ball reliably from many formations - for a very long time now. This was something I always wanted to see added to the this team since about 2009. Bomber fans can be very demanding, but they absolutely love players that have a big heart and play smart.
  10. Undisclosed lower body injury. Out for 2 to 4 more weeks. But similar to Neufeld, once healthy, it won't take more than an hour or two in practice or game situations until he gets himself back on the pogie train again. Some guys have that talent down to an art form and for some reason, ever since about 2009, Winnipeg Blue Bombers seem to have attracted a few of them. Does anyone know why we have been so unlucky that way?
  11. Yes, this is the type of receiver that fits in well with what LaPolice likes to run - 5 yard outs or hook plays to the middle all day long... Nothing wrong with that though. Joe Pop made a living catching shorter routes in traffic. Addison Richards should get unloaded pretty soon if this guy signs to go along with Blasko. It's about time.
  12. You can still pick Blue and Gold... On offence this year they should be more than capable of carrying the team
  13. Would like to see JFG get the ball more. Have always thought he has more potential than people think. Probably could be the first 1000 yard Canadian receiver after our old friend Wilcox if he was fed the ball more. He would have even looked good in the jet package.
  14. The key will be the Bomber offence. They have to control the ball and avoid going two and out at all times. With the quick release, Glenn's experience and those receivers against an extremely soft Winnipeg secondary, pressure up front is not going to matter much and the Riders will be controlling the clock and marching up and down the field when they have the ball. Best chance for a Bomber win is to match them point for point and keep the ball away from the Sask offence for as long as possible on every series. If they start off going two and out, it could get ugly early.
  15. I'm just curious, you have the Bombers well ahead of all the competition here. How do you see that happening when they give up an average of 24 points a game and only score an average of 27 points a game? Calgary only gives up 20 points a game and scores 33 points a game and you know they are consistent year after year. How would they possibly finish 2 games behind the Bombers? Are you just being optimistic or do you see some secret weapon being unveiled that has not been tested so far in preseason? Based on the progress that the rest of the teams have been making every off season, most pundits who are in the know are picking Bombers to finish 4th in the West at best and 6th or 7th overall.
