Jerry was a great player. He could play both ways & was not only an All Star qb. He was also an All Star defensive back as well. Cut in the same mould & from the same generation as Ken Ploen. Both guys could go both ways. Keeling came into the CFL in the early 60's playing defense while being the Stamps backup qb at the same time. It wasn't until Peter Liske left Calgary for the Denver Broncos after the 1968 season did he get a chance to start. He quarterbacked the Stamps to a Grey Cup victory in 1971 & along with former Blue Bomber qb Rick Cassata, the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1973.

Kids, especially Canadian ones coming out of university are broke. They take whatever help they can get. Unless a Canadian player is figured to go in the top 2 or 3 rounds they won't be represented by a top agent.

MLSE should change all that. The Argos practice facility burned down in a fire a few years ago when David Braley owned the team. In typical Braley spend no money & grind the team into the ground style of ownership he never replaced it.
