NFL Coming to Winnipeg for Preseason Game
SpeedFlex27 replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Gruden made a comment earlier today about his concerns with the field. He sure looks like he can't wait to get outta here after the game. We may hear more about this fiasco on Hard Knocks. -

What I don't get is when they had the Bills playing at SkyDome they never had an issue with the goalposts. So, who's fault is it anyway? -

Gruden has a permanent "I'm So Pissed Off" look on his face. -

Nah, that'll be fixed properly. They just never thought it would be a problem. They probably should have converted the field days before to give them time to fix problems like this. -

Pisses me off that we had such a loser promoting this game. How bad it's making us look. -

I agree our turf is better than Oakland but at the same time there are no holes in the field in Oakland. -

Shame that this **** show happened. Watch the promoter sue the Bombers for his ineptitude. No way this is on the Bombers or CFL. -

Well, I'm not apologizing for what I said. I don't like NFL bashing any more than CFL bashing. Sort of like Rider fans telling us how great the City of Regina is & how great it is to live there. If it's so great then why the need to tell us? We should already know, if it was. -
How come people who complain about a sales tax will happily pay a carbon tax? A tax is a tax is a tax.

Most fans are footballed out after the Super Bowl. I honestly think they want a break from football with it being late winter, the Final Four Tournament gets going in March, MLB spring training starts mid February & then the NBA & NHL are in their final third of the season leading to the playoffs. Another spring football league doesn't excite a lot of fans because a lot of sports are going on. . -

Four hundred dollar tickets on the 50 yard line in the upper decks. Absolute insanity. -

It seems some people just can't enjoy both. They have such an inferiority complex about our game that they have to throw insults out to try & convince themselves & others that our game is better than the NFL. Lot of jealousy when they see 90,000 at a Cowboys game in a gigantic, sparkling new state of the art stadium & then only 18,000 in a rickety, century old stadium in Montreal. Or the dump they call McMahon Stadium with half empty seats. People all over the world know about the NFL but have never heard of the Grey Cup & I think that drives some in Canada nuts. I enjoy both games & never compare the two. Each one is unique unto itself. I don't think one is superior or inferior to the other. I just like football. -

Peter, Paul & Mary sang a song about a dragon who lived by the sea. Must have meant Seattle. -
Nichols is a veteran & at least can process what he sees in front of him. Streveler isn't. Hope he does well but I'm expecting he'll be in for a rough ride from the Esks defense.

Promoters just think they can charge anything they want, including outrageous prices & people will open their wallet & show up. That's not true at all. This game would have failed in every other Canadian city because of ticket prices. This promoter especially seems out of touch with reality. -

I think the promoter is a joke. He made the total experience a joke for everyone. -
How anyone can think that we can win even if Streveler doesn't play well will be in a for a big shock when we lose.
-
I'd be bitter too if Dominic Davis & Jonathan Jennings were my qbs.
-
Considering that it came out just before the RedBlacks played the Eskimos I question the motives of Pruneau who to me was being a jerk. Harris never responded & good for him that he didn't. For all we know it was Pruneau who was the so called cancer. I just think it was sour grapes.
-
That's Antoine Pruneau's opinion. I question motives when a player takes something that should be kept internal, public.
-
I think Desjardins let Harris leave rather than lost him. But hey, whatever Antoine Pruneau says. Hope he's enjoying the losing.
-
I blame this fiasco on Marcel Desjardins who more than ever this season has shown he really is the GM from Hamilton who ran that franchise into the ground. Not the guy who built the RedBlacks. Thinking he could win with Dominique Davis & Jonathan Jennings over Trevor Harris. Now his team is struggling. Great job, Marcel.
