  1. Season 1 Picard was better than this.
  2. Lionebacker John Motton. Played for the Bombers in 1995.
  3. There have been a fewe concept Bomber uniforms. Obviously Wade & New Era weren't paying attention. Take the triple striped helmet from yesterday & replace the one in this photo & it would have looked great.
  4. Watching Star Trek: Picard. There are more holes in the plot than a homeless guy's underwear. Like WTF???? The Borg assimilated species because they were lonely? Rios contaminates the timeline by falling in love with a woman in the 21st century. Q is dying but we never see him. Brent Spiner plays another Soong. Why?? Adam Soong & the question is why is he even there? His daughter who is an android has disappeared. Seven is now Borg again. They keep exploring Picard's memories of his mother's suicide to the point of it being painful. One episode was enough, PLEASE!!! They killed off Elrod who was maybe the most interesting character in Episode 1 only to bring him back as a security hologram with memories of before he died. Agnes Jurati now the new Borg Queen leaves them all stranded by stealing their ship. And Picard's response? "Let's go!! We have wotk to do!!" The timeline is totally effed as they've made so many mistakes. He should have said, "Let's go!! We have one more episode to fix this total ****!!" The writing has been terrible, the plot all over the place & the dialogue just horrible. Which is why I hate season long arcs. Episodic is the way to go. Story begins & ends in one hour. That's why I have much higher hopes for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as it'll be episodic.
  5. Those blue cammos lasted one game. I read that the players hated them back in 2014 & after wearing them for one game all refused to ever wear them again.
  6. I have a feeling that this jersey like the navy blue cammo in 2014 will have a short life.
  7. Not feeling it for the jersey. Don't like the W on the front either. Just as long as they don't mess with the main jerseys.
  8. I personally don't give a **** who broadcasts their games. It could be Marcel The Monkey for all I care.
  9. Are you talking about the education system out here in Calgary? I don't understand your reference.
  10. If I said we had no school buses like wimpy kids have today & I walked 4 miles a day would that make it even more special?
  11. I grew up in Winnipeg. We had wind back then as well. I used to walk to Churchill High & back 4 times a day. No matter the weather from grades 7-12. You just learn to walk backwards.
  12. Why do people care who does the Riders play by play??
  13. That isn't even a teaser. I don't like giving teams cheap yards. And this is exactly that. Cheap. Also, as I said before in windy conditions it isn't discipline that is the problem... it's the wind. All teams will get caught.
  14. Swift? Paul Robson.
  15. It's the wind that'll play a factor. Not motivation. No matter how hard the cover team may try they'll get caught at some point & if we're the kick over team it will suck. Especially if it costs us a game. This will be the equivalent of how the PI & Incidental Contact rules were changed a few years ago & almoist every long ball was flagged. It affected the outcome of games. The rule changes were stupid & had to be tightened up. Now this. Ugh.
  16. Brief? Like one one millionth of a second.
  17. Agreed. Kinda like giving a bike racer training wheels.
  18. We'll see what you say when a football kicked into the wind goes 30 yards & lwe ose15 yards like it used to be. Or No yards on a bounce back. No exceptions, No ifs, ands or buts.
  19. Oh God, don't change the OT rules. It works. Let's just play two handed touch.
  20. This is a return to old rules on a No Yards penalty. It used to be 15 yards no matter what back in th day & fans howled & screamed for years how unfair it was. Especially in windy conditions, Now they go back to the way it was?? Cue the yelling, screaming & gnashing of teeth from a generation ago. Messing with No Yards is just ridiculous as it becomes blantly unfair to the kick cover team. This one rule alone will **** teams over like it did back then.
  21. Starting at the 40 after a FG will change the game. It was fine the way it was. But of course other than the hash marks, they had to go overboard. to make it look like they actually did something.
  22. In exchange the Flames pay property tax. I THINK. For more details, you'll have to google it, sorry.
  23. Different group & different negotiations. There was bad blood going back a number of years between Edwards & Nenshi regarding the arena. Maybe the the Tsuu Tina will look at an arena deal to spur development as it will become a destination point for an Entertainment District with a minimum of 40 nights a year in use, I dunno. I mean there's absolutely nothing there. It;s forest, rivers, gizzly bears, cougars & foothills to the Rocky Mountains basically. There has to be a starting point for a development.
  24. In the deal with the City that fell through, the Flames wouldn't own the arena. The City would have. But they would have controlled concessions & revenue from the games & concerts.
  25. Multiple All Star Center Bob Swift. He was the Center for Don Jonas, Chuck Ealey & Dieter Brock from 1971-77. Came into the league in 1964 with the Lions as a fullback rushing for over a thousand yards & named ROTY. Swift blew his knee out in the 1964 Grey Cup early in the first quarter & missed the rest of the game. He was able to come back as a player when his injury healed but his running days were over. The Lions converted him to Guard in 1965. Acquired by the Argos in 1966 where he also played Center. Traded to the Bombers in a positional swap. We traded our starting Center Paul Desjardins to the Argos for their Center Bob Swift prior to the 1971 season. He was a four time CFL Western Conference All Star in 1971, 72, 73 & 74. as well as an All Canadian in 1971, 72 & 74.
