  1. Is quick to insult Bowman but doesn't offer alternate solutions. Could have run against Bowman but chose not to because he was worried about his precious seat. Browarty comments on the costs to train city staff on reconciliation, being forced to resign from the Winnipeg Police Board. Votes against increases funding to public works projects, like Tache Promenade, but acts shocked when funding for his own areas projects are rejected (Kilcona Park).
  2. There's no way Bowarty would have won. He has no ideas and contributes nothing. Same as Jenny. No one was beating Bowman. Despite the hatred of few on here, the city has been improving and people see that.
  3. Bowarty is coward. Is and always has been. Nothing to do with P&M.
  4. That's what I'm thinking. We should vote on fixing streets. We'll go street by street. Hope that those unaffected by P&M but voted "No" anyhow have their streets fall apart.
  5. My inlaws voted "No". I asked them why. They said that they were worried about traffic. They don't drive downtown. Then they said it was a waste of money. Money that the city is going to need to spend anyhow. They didn't know about that because they didn't read anything about the issue. Have been retired for 25 years. Congratulations Winnipeg. I blame Bowman for bowing to that coward Bowarty. He could have done this without the plebiscite but can't now.
  6. The repairs will happen. They are completely necessary. A engineering report will be complete next year, and I'm sure the repairs above and below ground will start afterwards. The barriers are coming down but there will not be a crosswalk.
  7. When the team loses, it's Nichols fault. When they win, it's a team win. Can't you follow TBurgs logic?!
  8. Trump relies on uneducated white males. Without them, he loses in a landslide. Guess who's predisposed to blaming non-whites for their situation? Uneducated white males.
  9. That's what banks do. They're in it for them, not you.
  10. You can retire from you fifth company at 50. That leaves you only 35 years to go until you can retire from work altogether. A tip: Have lots of kids. It may hurt the pocket book now but it will provide many places to live in the future. One of them is bound to appreciate your hard work and provide you a room in the basement.
  11. You're not special, millennial, despite what your ribbon says.
  12. Was it ever. And, Trouba showed good patience to move the puck to a better shooting angle.
  13. "Don't label me... blah, blah, blah..." Such a millennial thing to say!!😉
  14. 1981-1996, which is a HUGE, probably too long, range of time. Post-millennials are the real drain! 😉
  15. Yes, there was zero physical evidence just a very dodgy confession, that did not provide a reasonable explanation. The whole thing was crazy.
  16. As season 1 developed, I felt that we were not getting a full picture and that the documentarians (is that a word?) were steering the narrative. I never felt we saw a balanced view. Now, what we did see, seemed to be enough to throw the whole case and conviction into question. Also, now that this is a high profile case, it obviously sees a lot more attention and the outcomes are playing out in the national media. Not as many surprises. But, I still look forward to watching it. Thanks for the write up. I'll touch base when I get into it. (I'm still finishing the Ken Burns doc - Vietnam and Hip Hop Revolution just released season 2). I guess I just watch docs!
  17. Going to start very soon. Is it good? Am I going to be outraged and shake my fist at the TV?
  18. That's what I've been hearing too. Loki will be cool (I hope).
  19. It is different. It's kind of good but did get stale near the end of the first season. There's a few twists and turns and they carry like an ongoing narrative (and yet some things are kept in bottle episodes, which is weird). That being said, I flew through season one in less than a week, so I must have enjoyed it.
  20. Well, I said it to trigger TUP but he didn't take the bait. I wish we could find a better way to help sectors without direct bailouts, like to Bombardier. I see the need to invest when some industries are struggling or during bad economic situations but there must be a better way.
  21. It looks bad on the league. Really, the team relies on the police informing them of the arrests. I'm not sure that if Hughes was an Argo and this happened in TO, if anything different would have happened. Team still would have needed to suspend him. The schadenfreude would have been lower though. 😉 And, we're going to beat Calgary for us. Not for you. Riders can kiss my butt. I want you to get no joy in us beating the Stamps, cause we're coming for you soon!
  22. More people are moving downtown and, besides the new communities in the south end, it's the quickest growing neighbourhood in Winnipeg (or was in 2016). No one thing will make downtown appealing. It's a combination of new investment into housing and retail, along with entertainment, that will drive growth.
