  1. Haha. Well done, Chevy. EDIT: Didn't have to pay him for a month to sit.
  2. Live action Little Mermaid? That could be really creepy. I liked Moana too. I appreciate the fact that Disney has gone out of their way to incorporate women as strong independent characters. Gone are the days of princesses waiting on princes to "save" them. They even turned the story of Rapunzel in a positive way. I hope they continue with the Moana universe.
  3. Not if you're paying for two residences. His fam lives there.
  4. He allows us to play another International on the line. Is that worth it? Can we even find a replacement?
  5. We had to do grade 4 and 5. When I was in grade 4, there was only one grade ahead of us. Our school was English but changed to French. After grade 1, the English students moved to another school. We had our grade and one ahead of us. So, when I was in Grade 2, there was a Grade 1 class,a Grade 3 class and no other. The next year, it went to grade 4, then 5, then 6. Yes, they still have kids. I saw them two weeks ago outside. One boy was in his gym shorts and t-shirt while it was really cold out there. Dad instincts kicked in and I almost called the school. Didn't but really thought about it.
  6. 41 - Crossing guard in 86 and 87. Grade 4 and 5.
  7. I remember going to see Star Trek, The Voyage Home at the Met as a crossing guard with crossing guards from around the city. That was fun. I remember going to movies at the City Place, when they had a theatre, eating with my step-father at Taco Time. We saw Ferris Bueller's, Short Circuit, and more there ~'86-'88.
  8. Oh for sure, I saw all three SW movies in theaters. They brought them back over and over again. I could also count on the Park Theatre in Wasagaming to have re-runs of popular movies each summer.
  9. A big difference was that everyone around Reagan sheltered him and protected the institutions. No one shelters Trump, they enable him and do nothing to protect the institutions. It's a complete reversal. -------------- We may be ignorant of some big things but he has people around him that can explain things to him. He can't even handle simple things. Normally, when idiots are elected, those around him are the ones in control. Here, we've got an idiot who's in complete control and surrounded by other idiots and enablers.
  10. I would like to open a discussion on Taylor Loffler. He's due a big pay raise now that he's no longer on a rookie contract. Is he worth it? Can we replace him for less with a National in another position? I love his style and that he's Canadian but what his his salary cost us a prime player in another area. Re-sign or not?
  11. 81... I would have been 4... maybe I have them reversed. I thought it came out in 80.
  12. I'm not sure we'll know if he has dementia, his ramblings and obsessions have been around for more than 20 years (and probably longer). Just look at his unscripted speeches and interviews. One event that particularly stands out is this one: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-boasts-of-his-philanthropy-but-his-giving-falls-short-of-his-words/2016/10/29/b3c03106-9ac7-11e6-a0ed-ab0774c1eaa5_story.html?utm_term=.62fecba384e9 (Can't remember if this has been posted here before)
  13. I saw The Fox and The Hound first, then Empire second. In fact, I had a choice, Empire or go see Mr. Dressup live. Chose Empire, obviously, as any three year-old would. What sort of horrible mother would bring a child to Fox and the Hound?? I cried and cried. I never wanted to see another movie. It still brings tears to my eyes. But, I love it.
  14. I forgot to provide feedback. I watched last weekend. This was VERY good. Short vignettes and stories. I really liked it. Tom Waits stole the show. But each story was unique and well told. A bit campy but everything works.
  15. Oh, boy, lots to unpack there. First, I'm looking forward to TS4. I'm not the biggest fan of the series but it's been so well made. Not sure we really needed a 4th but it's Disney. Live action Dumbo? I like this. I was never a Dumbo fan. I truly hated the bullying and it made me uncomfortable as a kid. Even when my kids watch it now, I'm put off by it. It's along the same lines as Rudolph, that they exploit the thing that makes him different. Anyhow, maybe they can modernize the story in a way that focuses more on the positives of being different. Aladdin. One my all time favs. I loved the story and the music of the original Dis flick. I'm very hopeful that they can recreate the magic. I'm not counting on it, just hopeful. Frozen 2? I liked the first. The story was unique and the music very good.. Yes, got a bit sick of the music and the overexposure. Also, as a Disney fam, who go to WDW almost each year, it also has quite a large footprint there. Fingers crossed that it's fun movie. Now, the Lion King... Also one of my favs. When I heard they were redoing a "live version" I was interested. The Jungle Book was good because it was unique, in a way, and they kept the music. Also, live action worked because Mogli was human. But the Lion King does not have humans. so, this is a animated remake of the animated movie from 25 years ago... why? Based on the trailer, it looks like a scene-for-scene remake? Will it look cool? I'm sure it will. The trailer certainly does. But, is this truly a scene-for-scene remake with some of the same voices? I don't really get it. I would have preferred a remake of the Aristocats. Bring that story to a new generation. There are great, iconic characters, great music and it's a great story.
  16. They'd have to keep him on the roster for 30 days though, before sending him down (and watching him get claimed again).
  17. Wrong. He was dumped and the Bombers went into free fall.
  18. He still get 45% of the vote to "own the Libs".
  19. I think he would throw all the resources at his disposal at protecting Ivanka and maybe some of his other kids. But I don't think he would ever plead guilty to something or take a deal to protect her.
  20. Do you think he would protect his kids? I don't see it. It's not in him. He does everything for himself. He is truly one of the most selfish, self-centered people I've ever seen. He has no regard for the damage he does. His lives his life in his on bubble and surrounds himself with "yes" men.
  21. Well, he does have money. But, when you look at how he's achieved anything, it's been through his Dad's money and bullying. He doesn't pay his contractors or lenders. On his own, he's nothing. But, when you're white and privileged, you get away with everything. And now, his enablers will protect him.
  22. I don't think we had cap room left. Plus, Matthews knew he would start right away in Calgary.
  23. He's not that successful.
