  1. Helmet and shoulder pads looked like they reached the goal line but because TSN didn't have the right angle on the play, we couldn't see where the ball was. It was the proper decision to leave the play as called on the field but they really should have a goal-line camera set up from both sides.
  2. Probably sending Portis (wish it was Brohm) to the Als, given their injury situation. Interested to see what he can do with the Bombers; certainly doesn't have anyone like Matt Ryan here to learn from but.......
  3. First and ten from their own 5 yard line and drove the ball all the way down the field to run out the clock against the Als defense..........well done RedBlacks!
  4. Considering the shelf was relatively bare when Walters took over, he's done a fine job. That being said, there was a HUGE stagger to make up and there's no way he could possibly be expected, in such a short period of time, to find enough talent to match what most teams have been able to accrue over all those years of Bomber management neglect. Hopefully, after a couple more years of solid drafts and the odd trade or free agent acquisition, the scales will no longer be tipped in favour of the opposition.
  5. Not sure how much Shell has left, hopefully plenty, but judging by his comments, his attitude sure is great. Been a solid player over the years.....
  6. Who's saying Marve doesn't have things to work on? All people are suggesting is that he should be getting the nod over a player like Brohm who show's absolutely no ability to move the team (one td drive in all the opportunities he's had) if/when Willy gets injured or has trouble in a particular game.
  7. With respect to coaches making the right decisions, they screw up constantly and get fired all the time. In fact, it's often said that a coach is usually much better in his second opportunity at leading a team because he's learned greatly from all the mistakes he's made during his first kick at the can. O'Shea leaving the offense in the hands of MB may well turn out to be his downfall; let's hope that's not the case.
  8. Let's see, one QB stands in the pocket and can't move the team, the other runs around more and moves the team rather consistently. Comparing both guy's stats during their time in Winnipeg, Marve has more PASSING yardage with more TDS than Brohm in addition to all the extra yards he gains on the ground. The only way Marve will ever get the pocket experience he needs to take his game to the next level would be to actually play more often. Everyone already knows what they'll get with Brohm, possibly a first down (more likely not) and another punt. He's 30 and hasn't been able to win a starting spot anywhere he's been after leaving college for a reason.........he isn't good enough! Marve hasn't been able to win a starting spot largely because of inexperience due to the injuries he's sustained. Marve is actually exciting to watch (football after all is supposed to be entertaining, right) and gets the fans buzzing when he enters a game while Brohm has many people wondering what kind of pictures he's in possession of that allows him a spot on this roster. Bombers have absolutely nothing to lose by using Marve ahead of a guy that has proven to have no future in the game, it's only a matter of time until the powers that be come to that conclusion as well.
  9. Off our meds again, are we? No, just calling it as I see it. Then you need to schedule an appointment with your optometrist. If you guys like our linebackers, you must love everyone else's!
  10. Off our meds again, are we? No, just calling it as I see it.
  11. Yup. Good hands, great size and no concussion history that I'm aware of........
  12. This strikes me as a risky move. Montreal or BC might grab him. Heck, I'd choose Franklin over Portis. Franklin is the most impressive young quarterback I've seen this pre-season, albeit in limited action. Sure wish the Bombers could somehow get their hands on him!
  13. What on earth has Brohm ever done to look as though he was about to break through? Must have missed it because he's always looked lousy to me! Thankfully, Marve will quickly move past him on the depth chart (Portis might as well) should something happen to Willy.
  14. None of the teams linebackers are good enough to be starting in this league. Sad situation really.
  15. Anderson's injury must be serious or there's no way he's not on the squad. O'Shea said it looked bad after the game; very unfortunate.
  16. Only player cut that's going to be missed is Anderson in my opinion. Would have been a nice addition but for the injury he sustained last night.
  17. Has Brohm ever produced a CFL TD? I can't recall one. I asked the same thing last week and someone replied that he had led the Bombers to one touchdown in a game last year.
  18. If the Bombers ever had to come from behind, could you even imagine Brohm leading them to a touchdown, never mind a victory? At least with Marve they'd have a shot at a comeback and likely be very entertaining in the process.
  19. Maybe the only bright spot to emerge from tonight's game (again). How he's not already the back-up to Willy is beyond comprehension.
  20. You are slightly over reacting here. Just slightly. Manhandled? That was the way it was described on the broadcast (sounded that way too)!
  21. Losing a pre-season game doesn't matter at all. The fact that so many starters were manhandled by back-ups, at home no less, should be a concern. Not the way they wanted to enter the season, that's for sure.
  22. Yes and I'm sure they'll pass it off as another "hamstring" injury! Not limping, no ice pack (just like training camp)..... they must think people are really stupid.
