Shane Ray is returning to the line up for the argos. The former first round nfl pick who was allegedly unblockable in camp but invisible in his only game played. He went right into the 6 game ir with a finger injury. Cordero law is healthy and is a 2nd stringer while Charleston Hughes is a 3rd stringer.

see above post * Back in the day, swept under the rug for sure. Today, idk. Ive heard a lot of tales of guys like oj simpson getting away with a lot back in the day.
-
Yeah, he's their real modp in 2019.

I confused the wheelers, I dont follow hockey. Of course if it was an NHL long time guy itd be bigger news. Its hockey in canada. If a guy like that flipped off a valet instead of tipping him it'd be bigger news than if a cfl star crashed their car while drunk. Nature of the beast.

tell that to the loss to the argos. even in the win we struggled with the run badly. 100%. The noise, full team flex seal, and we will see the poutiest wilder we've seen all year. I think sheed is gonna step up in a big way. He's really gotten it together after the first few weeks of considerable struggle. We've consistently gone from wr to wr having big games. I think Adams will soak up a lot more touches too.

I dont agree, unless wheeler has some massive following im un aware of. In no way shape or form was what he did more impressive than what lawler did. Weve seen other rookie qbs play better this year in game 1. The dui doesnt change his performance. But it doesnt really matter. The cfl weekly and monthly award choices this year have been comically bad and mostly over looked the bombers any way. You say never hear about it, but then its referenced. If any thing in this modern pro sports era of the last 20 ish years you dont do jack all with out it becoming publicly known. Its not particularly soft treatment for athletes either. DUI, and minor possession raps happen 20 times a day in manitoba. They dont face some sort of horrible consequence legally unless some one is maimed. The professional back lash for coke, and street racing to athletes is far far greater than what any civi gets. Follow the MB RCMP page for a week and youll see a half dozen plus 200+ kph speeding tickets, 2 massive drug busts and countless domestic violence cases. Follow up those cases and youll see a TON of slaps on the wrist at worst.

No kidding. Wow.

Weve only been able to do that once this year though. Teams aren't playing the run like they did in 19 and prior.
-
Except for us starting 2 rookie DBs, 2 rookie DTs, a rookie wlber, having started a rookie wr this year, And rookie kickers. I dont think we'd be plucking guys off PRs either. But I think we might see some early TC 2022 guys. Or perhaps if meredith gets healthy I think he'd bump a pr guy at the least.
-
I would assume so, other wise I think they wouldve cut rosie. I think itll be interesting to see if they slot him right into lawlers spot, or if they move some guys around. Idk I think they are really high on mcknight. If he was over 6' and 200 I probably would be too. Dont see a lot of small possession wrs with mediocre speed. But they seem to love him. Nelson is a Mos guy. The mos guy this year. I dont underestimate that value, any thing is possible. I dont think he's a grant like guy any more either, but the bombers probably do. His stride frequency looked soo slow, he was soo flat footed this year. Idk maybe injuries really caught him. It looked like woli was OK on the sidelines, I suspect it was just precautionary. But he was nursing that thorax injury already. The cumulative injuries would be the only real concern I think. Hes a physical player who does a lot for us in blocking schemes. They might give him a week but he's also a warrior. Cant really say what will happen with him till game time. Yeah Orange is an exciting ni wr prospect. Id rather have him on the active roster than tyrrell but he does more on teams n stuff. Agudosi would be the guy I go with. He's not getting younger, if you dont play him this year I dont know that you bring him to camp next year. It takes wrs a little while to adapt and excel. If they brought him back next year, then the year after he hits his stride he's pretty old at that point. Especially for a raw guy. When its rosie I wont be surprised. I think at this point the bombers should look at some PR wr moves though. Maybe time to move on from mcknight and nelson.
-
Probably right. Thought honestly I dont think any of them are particularly special. They wouldve been better off cutting one of them and who ever else it takes and bringing back moncrief. I think that big body hybrid sam is the future in the CFL. Id rather tear down and build from scratch than deal with any of their guys. You gotta rip out toxicity root and stem in a team situation.

We use the rotation of thomas and kongbo to keep the dl changing over. If they sit rocquemore, briggs isnt the starter on paper, we will have an NI at wil for 90% of our snaps. We use the 2 NI wils on some passing plays to get 2 imp DTs in, or in the past to get an extra DB on the field. We dont have another spot that an NI can jump in at to keep an imp will in kyrie on the field. What we would gain in a nelson et al at field wr over tyrrell is tiny compared to what we lose with kyrie and rocquemore at wil especially vs a heavy run team that put up 150 yards rushing on us in less than 20 carries.

Yep. And faj is the exact opposite of what duke needs to succeed. After this 7 game stretch he may tell maas to lose his number lol. Its like kevin fogg. He was constatly johnny on the spot for fumbles, and loved to gamble for picks. But despite his speed got burned soo frequently. Getting rid of fogg and heath is when our secondary started to get good. The riders instead got married to those type of guys and are worse off for it.

I very much doubt it. I suspect that mcknight is still a head of agudosi, though Id prefer to see him. Nelson is probably above mcknight, and might be above rosie sadly. I really hope nelson isnt that high on the depth chart. For ratio, the only way we could get the extra imp wr on the roster would be to go NI at Wil again, which was exploited pretty heavily the last time by the elk. We then also wouldnt be able to DI both kyrie and rocquemore. As we are using DI spots on a kicker, grant, and sayles. If woli cant go I think we see oleary orange activated and tyrrell start. We can use more of the heavy set with Eli at TE, and we could (but probably wont) finally run some 2 back stuff and motion harris through H back range and lean on him more as a pass catcher. I dont know if its a mistake, but olumba the DB we just signed is listed on the active roster on the website.

I grew up in a multi generational drug and alcohol abuse family. Its why ive never drank or done any drugs. And when I was 16 my mom was put in a wheel chair and remains disabled to this day from an accident with a drunk driver. Alcohol is an awful drug and it baffles me how its considered so much less then soo many soft drugs. Drunk driving is among the worst decisions you can make. But at the same time, for an alcoholic whose drunk the decision making process isnt cut and dry. I hope he gets the help he needs. Hes a great player and seems like a good person. Health has to come before football. Be it physical, mental or what have you. Im guessing by the way things are being dealt with that he is going to attempt to get the help needed. I hope that if he doesnt however, if he quits or goes through the motions, that we dont play him again. I wonder if we might make a call into deveir posey now.

With the tite alignment teams are playing against us unless buck has some serious progression run plays planned it isnt likely. Demski and adams could carry a lot of heft too. We could If woli is out put Harris at slot and send out Brady or Augustine at back.
-
Yeah. I'd also be happy to see agudosi too. Some offensive reps for Grant. I hope Lawler gets his s$%^ together.
-
who will fajardo blame when he cant make 50/50 passes now?
-
I think stove and kyrie will have the flex seal taken care of.

haha not exactly. A 1 gap player lines up in a gap between two blockers and rushes the gap. More modern defenses try to use 1.5 gap defenders, where they rush 1 gap and have to watch the other then shed the block and make a tackle in another gap. Its hard to find good 1.5 gap defenders and they are worth their weight in gold in the NFL, especially if they can get after the qb a bit. Finally you have the 2 gap defensive tackle. The 2 gap player lines up in 0 technique, at nose tackle directly over the center. His responsibility is to flow to either guard-center A gap and stuff the run. Some times this is done by discipline, anchor your position then disengaging from the C and scraping to the ball carrier in the gap. Other times this is done by mashing the center back and removing the A gaps entirely. The later happens when an OL is playing a tight blocking scheme, especially in man blocking. Or tossed suhk, then ripped the center down and filled the gap between michael reillys ears with his heft.
-
Idk, I think cornys ability to run, size and strength are going to help him. Harris rattles and becomes toxic too. But coming in mid game for harris is probably the best case scenario for the elk. This is the trap of all trap games, but we've seemed too focused to give into that type of thing so here is hoping it plays out.

Mid-season CFL player awards - MOP
wbbfan replied to TrueBlue4ever's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Its between biggie and jeffcoat, though alexander deserves some consideration too. BA opens up a lot of different looks for biggie. I dont think jeffcoat will get the votes he deserves though, the ends are gonna split each others chances imop. -

They should have that and call it the stegall award. I think collaros is the dominant favorite. I think defensive players get a but of a snub, but we dont have a most outstanding offensive player so I get it. Having an offensive player of the year and an MVP would be better. -

Yeah. He certainly doesnt have the supreme physicality of strevy. But the playbook with streveler here in 19 was pretty dreadful too. They could keep 2 or 3 of his passing plays with that timing route. I dont think we had 1 good passing play that strevy was comfortable or happy with. But he wasnt physically limited throwing either. Lynch couldnt be any worse passing down field than CF. He just couldnt be. Its like lefevour when he was in a bad streak, but every single pass.
