  1. he isn’t sticking long term, he’s already done more than any cis qb in 40 years. he was a front runner to be cut before the pre season. i firmly believe this is the best case scenario for him and us. a year on an nfl pr would be phenomenal for him to catch up to the higher level of competition. his chances of sticking with another wave of rookies who also have great arm talent and drastically more polish will likely spell his demise down south.
  2. and with all that, he’s better than dobson was at the half way point of last year. he’s close to as good in run pro, but significantly better in pass pro. dobson is very likely an east all star this year, and imo wallace will likely be better than him out of camp next year. Boy the ex bomber ol around the league is looking pretty good. hardrick, dobson, couture, desjarlais, and broxton.
  3. more bad play off games to good by a massive margin. 0 mop level gc games
  4. normally you practice and prep to run an extended series of 15-20 or so offensive plays. with some if-this then-that progressions. normally you don’t get through all that in the couple series. depending on how the offence goes you usually finish that around half way through to the 2nd Q. Often, you’ll go back to some of the sequence calls if it works well, or if you didn’t get a chance to go in a certain sequence you prepped for. At the half, you of course don’t have the time to build a full sequence again for the second half, so you have some deeper progressions in the play book to work off, build off what worked and toss what didn’t. Week of prep is an incredible amount of work as an oc. you have a short period of time from debriefing over the previous game to building your game plan for the next, then you spend the week doing install with the qbs/offence and practicing the key plays and sequences. An average oc, preps and installs a good game plan for the week. a good oc builds and adjusts well at half and does what an average oc does. a great oc builds a good game plan on the spot in game and does every thing a good oc does. A bad oc, often sees glimmers of success in various areas. but most often it’s the talent shining through the system.
  5. I went off his game log from cfl.ca, but its possible. he might have been rostered as a back up even though he was out injured. Yikes that is a lot of injuries piling up. Ott is gonna be the death of his career at this rate.
  6. We tried real hard to ****** defeat from the jaws of victory. But Ottawa just snatched it away from us, gotta give it to them, they wanted it more. And I'm glad they did.
  7. Roster management. We were married to bridges and bonds. Bonds earned some rope last year; bridges didn't earn jack. Parker, too, coasting on half a season from several years ago. Rostering Parker as the dime di would've made sense. Any other team in the league, Allen breaks camp as a starter.
  8. Never heard one, no. Did look like a knee, yeah.
  9. Eh some similarities but not as much. Willy, as much as anything, was shell-shocked and ruined by all the hits he took, not as injury-prone. Willy played 17 games here, then 7, then we traded him, and it was 18 total. That's 14, 15, and 16. Dru brown has played in 17 last year and 7 this year. But I think he's been injured what, 4 times in that season and a half? I think Dru is becoming Zach.
  10. At this point, I think the shock of any shake-up will have value in the locker room. Imo, you ideally hit a Trade, a Cut, and a Demotion. Show the team, there is no such thing as good enough. I'd look to trade Strevy for another vet-ish backup, create a little QB room controversy. A dream cut would be Kola, of course, or Hogan. Demotion could be Hogan, or maybe Streveler, or a few guys.
  11. The booth is a coin flip, on if it will be a brutal decision or not. Then another coin flip on if you will win. I think a big part of the value of a challenge, though, is momentum both for your team and with the refs. When your team sees the challenge, they know you have their back, it fosters that us vs them mentality, and you can get some increased hustle/effort/heart etc if the team feels they should've won the challenge. The coaches are always working the refs as well, and when they sit and watch all the replays showing they were wrong, you have a good chance, even if you lose, of getting a make up call. Even though the review process is a farce most of the time, I think it's an important asset to use. Wasting it gives you nothing, and a double coin flip is more than nothing.
  12. The least physical/strong defender, too. But he form tackles well and does his job. If you get out tackled by that guy as a lber/db, you should feel bad. I'll say too that Jones, Allen, Holm, and Vaval all did solid jobs tackling tonight. Far, far better than the rest. Tony jones will likely get consideration for an all star spot at Lber at this rate.
  13. I mean, Big Jake was given an unblocked clear path to the QB 3 times, but he did make the best of it. And I respect his heart for not giving up on that pursuit. Both metaphorically and literally. Brown was in control of that scramble, though, but when Adams was on him, that was running out of fear and survival. Damn, that dude is quick for a DT. Some of the most impressive physical displays on the field tonight, Jake running a marathon, Adams making brown look like Jake Thomas, Schmekel blocking the punt, Vaval closing out Pimpleton for the pkd, Zach running in general, Paddy running 25 yards downfield for a block, Sterns mossing Pickett, Adams and Person one punch move KOs of their OL, and Tony Jones knifing between two blockers, shedding a block and stuffing Stanback for a loss. Honorable mention to Demski for tearing up the RBs' D with YAC, routinely making them look silly. When the list of times you physically manhandle the other team in your 1-on-1 match-up is that long, you should win pretty handily.
  14. I'll say this: the physicality that Cam Allen brings to the secondary is going to help change that. That kid is just barely scratching the surface of his potential, and he's the best DB find in a good while. He can cover, he can tackle, he can hit, and he can come up to play the run game. I'd love to see Woodbey and Allen draw in, maybe eventually. I wish we could see where allen would be at if he had broken camp on the AR, like he should have.
  15. i am pleasantly surprised that we won, played an entertaining competitive game, but damn still some crazy decisions he is
  16. 1 demski carried us a lot of the game again 2 schmekel best game hes played 3 sergio/sheahan. clutch kick, very good punting hh sterns some how dominates the jump ball from behind block of the game neuf down field for brady on the screen crunch of the game cadwallader with a missile tackle after being pushed from being in kick cover aww that’s dirty, the refs, our second half, and 4thq play call/decisions, and randolph’s decisions. honorable mentions, holm, allen, jones, adams, person, wheatfall, and sterns.
