  1. I loved dressler. As a rider I liked him as much as I could any rider player especially one who used to kill us. He was like buck pierce at wr but with a stronger surrounding cast. From a league stand point he should go in as a rider. If he chose us, I’d be thrilled he was a great player and great person.
  2. Problem is at this point basically the only chance is to trade a real asset away to get that. Other wise we will wait for cuts and take a shot on a guy who is a fringe talent at best. not saying we shouldn’t do that, but I don’t think we will. Could be that one of the global DL from this year gets cut or put on a pr which would be solid too. I think menard is the Thomas of ends at this point. I don’t think we need a ni dl though it would be a big value to add. I think with Kramdi we have the ability to use that ratio flexibility else where. If our 6 game is going to save serious bucks, which it looks like, I’d consider giving a call to grant. I believe it was mos 2nd tc. They cut him in the off season and only brought him back a few weeks into the season. pretty much. I thought he had more to offer back then and was a reasonable back up / back end roster guy. But we always over play nis like that.
  3. I’d love to ask mos why he cut Jake early on in his time here then
  4. It’s all going to depend on how healthy Jake is. And if they are finally over the old boys club. or how far over it they are.
  5. Collaros always seems to want lots of reps in the second pre season game. I bet he takes half plus a drive maybe more. I think strev still has adjustments and will play at least a few drives.
  6. Not soo much but it is a factor. Heavier sloppy guys will lose more during the game, endurance is more its own thing. I’ve seen big belly guys with surprising motor. It does cause injury issues though. All that weight is hard on the joints. The difference in wear with just 20 lbs on the hips knees high ankle low back is extreme. he’s got sloppy weight especially on the torso, but he does have a big frame. He doesn’t need to lose massive amounts. Less than 10% total. I think for next years camp he will be pretty close to optimal.
  7. Don’t think Kramdi will start. I think it’ll be Cole at Sam. But with ford, 3 ol, rb, 2 wrs we will be ok. As long as Brady is ok
  8. He didn’t have by any means great technique in college. He wasn’t playing with near the leverage he did in preseason. Virtually every football player in the pros has been playing since early years. Raw still applies.
  9. I’m not sure the criticism of schmekel was unfair. He really was awful last year. I think it’s fair to say he was put in a position he shouldn’t have been. This year, he’s playing at a level that deserves that type of role. Either way, I’m thrilled to have been wrong about him and look forward to what he does next. This. We need guys who buy in to the rotation and play like their hair is on fire when on the field and trust/communicate when they need a rest. The previous group with kongbo Hansen etc seemed to do that extremely well. Yep. De is much tougher, you can find dts who just mash fairly easy. If Lawson is out 6 Games(I hope it’s just roster shenanigans) I’d go two imp dt with shmekel backing up. We have the ni flexibility to do it with ease. I love the idea of ba as a dna, but with how he was last year still not being healthy I feel like his days are numbered. I have no expectations of him returning to form again.
  10. That’s a good point the riders 2/3 team of ol is not good. But he wasn’t out there stoveing people either. What was most impressive was his quickness, motor and effort. He was getting in on the back of plays, just flying for a dt. we kept letting NTs and dts walk for pipeline guys. And it worked for a long time. But we never replaced stove. When he was here and hurt or after he left. We got too cute with dts. Then we lost Kongbo and didn’t rebuild the de rotation. Start of 2022 was the end of the high rotation, varied front looks that cooked offenses prior with no added rushers. Which allowed biggie to play mid field or a deep cover zone. That front change really took us from a generational defence to a solid defence that can’t close out.
  11. Guys can play and be raw, especially big athletic linemen. You can dominate lower levels with little skill and technique just size strength explosiveness. Playing ol at the sub pro level is as much getting in the way of guys. Polish in terms of hand and footwork is rare for ol.
  12. Yeah, obviously it’s one pre season game, things could change. But the riders ran starting dl and they have a decent unit. I wouldn’t be surprised if Wallace gets nfl looks after a year starting here and kick around a bit like desjarlais. Dude is clearly far better than was commonly believed.
  13. I would expect offenders to be behind the curve on calls by the new defences in general for sure. I would expect a qb to notice an overload look pre snap that doesn’t drop through. Strevy I think is likely behind in terms of teams prepping for him. Also, I’m sure he has to adjust to the speed at which an over load edge can can get to you here, and not having high level pass pro from rbs and tes.
  14. Did mention it in the game thread and 3stars. But he can’t get enough credit. He was Terrible last year. This year he’s taken a huge step forward. He was relentless the whole game. Surprising game. He isn’t a guy who can beast mode a guard, but if he keeps that up you have to roster him. He played better than Jake has in a couple years. I for one had him as tcf quality, mos talked about how they liked a couple of his tools as a developmental guy. He shouldn’t have been on the AR last year when we were ni heavy. But he sure has taken a huge step forward.
  15. Honestly with his performance here it makes sense why he fell out of the nfl soo fast, and then in the usfl.
  16. Yep, I think we had the horses between fox, Habba and garbutt. But like you said we just didn’t want to for some reason. Though to be fair Garbutt might be killing it now because he had last year here. I’m sure he’d a been good still last year. It’s strange how we got soo far away from the dl looks that made us soo dominant in 21 and prior. I get Jackson took some of that roster flexibility, but we had di dbs back then and other wise similar usage. I am glad that it seems like JY has us going back to better front alignments and blitzes. And that’s just pre season. What he has in store for the regular season is really tantalizingly.
  17. His stance. He went directly into his stance, and was in a 2 point stance that was still too upright in pass pro, and a 4 point stance (some thing tackles virtually never do unless short yardage.) with a 3pt stance on two other run plays. He was also really on the line at best for moving early going backwards in pass pro. Stanley is great at hiding his stance till the last minute he has to Commit, and using his leverage to work out of a lot of 2 point stances, some times a 3 on certain plays. But usually a 2 point stance with hands on legs and uses bend and step to gain the advantage instead of a 3 point. I went instantly to cjob for pbp gladly missed the whole mess with the rider flunkies.
  18. Just usfl camp stuff for barry, but yeah I didn’t realize Wilson started a game and rostered for a couple. So he’s not soo green.
  19. DC says Sergio had to return home for a bit, think bringing Randolph back is just min maxing roster spots.
  20. Oh you’re right I’m out to lunch on that one. I’m glad we have Wilson. His adjustments and poise was excellent. If barryeh isn’t gonna coach up I’d look to bring in another for the pr still. With Strevy running and a true rookie behind him we for sure should keep one on the pr.
  21. All fair enough. I bet it’s wearing to try and get legit answers. The best use of the dna I think would’ve been JJ with garbutt/habba to rotate. Or if we had signed lemon.
  22. They’ve got scouts and some talent. Just jones doing jones things holding them back. Basically emptying their ni stock and failing to add any has messed them up as much as any thing.
  23. Exactly. So if they are in dire need of a roster spot may as well. Seems like he’s a turn key LS already too. Dru brown. He was the worst rookie qb I’ve seen here in a long while. 4qbs with one on the pr is fairly standard.
  24. For sure. having the best ol, and coaching in the league has really cemented the next man up process. Marty is a beast and I bet he’s excited about this crop of guys. Imagine if manu comes up too lol. Embarrassing for other teams. Eli Dobson and Wallace. Almost 1000lbs of beef. I think neuf is in the verge of replacement, but his experience and leader ship for the right side is needed now more than in a very long time. He’s gonna be critical in settling our rt. We are in great shape with the interior line and ni depth.
  25. Some guys especially qbs need time to adjust to the pro game. If that’s all they think he needs, with his upside, it’s well worth keeping him around. Personally the top of the cut list would include Blackmon, vlaghionos, kornelson and a db or two. If you don’t cut mastro I’d suspend sheahan and let mastro punt next game. Seems like we have a few spots that’d be easy to free up. Leroux could be sent back to college as well.
