  1. Yup. Also insulates us moving on from JA for mci. So it doesn’t even end up being that expensive.
  2. I agree to an extent. He shouldn’t be held to the fire in the court of public opinion. The average fan is pretty clueless. I think he should be held accountable. That should come from media, and maybe some of the q n a stuff with season ticket holders at the diner before the year starts. I mean I can’t handle how dumb many of the questions and comments are at the coaches show. I haven’t been able to stomach it for a while. But for the last two years I don’t even listen to the caller free bit because it’s less than fluff.
  3. Very well could be. In this case, I wouldn’t mind paying him 125k or a bit more if we actually use him as a change of pace back, rotational wr/package guy, obviously depth at rb and wr and of course kr.
  4. I don’t think he’s a legend, but he’s on his way. He’s a damned good coach. Top tier currently for sure.
  5. Shouldn’t be. But with mos every thing public is like water off a ducks back any way. If his seat gets nuclear hot at some point he will probably only be mildly annoyed about having to talk about it and him self. I wonder if Walter’s and wade would even approach him like that. I could see them kinda dealing with it internally between them. I can’t imagine them going to him and asking why he put zach back in and kept him in or questioning offensive prep and game plan. While they do have a hierarchy, I feel like in reality they work in conjunction with each other to the point the lines are blurred. Pure speculation on my part keep in mind, but it looks like that to me. I don’t think there is any chance he faces heat this off season either. I think buck is gonna get it all. He isn’t removed from being criticized, but I do think he’s immune to it. I don’t think he gives two shakes what any of the fans or media think about him. oof sure looks like it. Just when you thought they were gonna turn it around. Imagine if they go on another long home /losing streak again to start next year.
  6. That’s opposite of every thing that’s come out from then till now with respect to him wanting to move on. And again, we saved maybe 15% of a rookie base contract in moving on from grant. That money had zero impact on the cap hit from any of the big guys we resigned. Augustine made a good chunk more than grant last year. Feltmate at worst made almost what grant did. they hard balled grant twice before in free agency. Which they haven’t really done with any one else. I suspect he just wasn’t a mafia guy. His disappearing act in the off season and unlicensed agent may have put Walters off. The selection process to join the old boys club with mos is an odd one. I don’t think any one else will ever understand it, unless you come with service history.
  7. Probably, but the mafia seem to have no issues ignoring the out side complaints. I think you still bring in a big crop of kids to push and compete with grant. I mean he didn’t make much more than vet min. The rookie min is 70k, iirc the vet min is 85k. And the average starter salary is well over 100. So we might’ve saved 15k for half the year then between 5k and none on lucky the other half. It’s understandable to go young and for a healthy guy, but financially that’s a bad gamble. At that point I think we should’ve gone after atleast a decent league vet. A guy like leake would be good this year. 26, good size, very good returner, very good rb and pass catcher. He could do a lot of the sweep stuff we used to do with Demski.
  8. That’s how all coaching careers end sadly
  9. He certainly is not on the hot seat. The seat could warm up with a rough start next year but he’s gonna get lots of leash. Bucks seat is pretty hot imo.
  10. You’re right in that it was an understandable decision in terms of health. I think at 90k though, it would’ve been a fine gamble to take. The real problem is we dumped some young guys, ran through some guys who couldn’t do the job then settled on lucky who was all the down side of grant with none of the upside for probably the same money.
  11. Really? Ew. We all knew that. I wonder if they wouldn’t be better off trading rourke though
  12. I agree, though I think they did better with in mid season by way of need.
  13. He’s worked his way up here as an American scout. Done a tremendous job finding talent down south. Very keen football mind. That makes sense. Danny spends his time in warm climes with his wife’s family. He’s only up here for camp and as needed. I love Ted, great guy and under rated as a gm candidate in the league. I’ll be very happy if he stays, but also happy for him if he gets the shot he deserves. Ringmaiden was a harder loss any way.
  14. He did, but he was only playing running downs as we subbed him off for the dime db in passing plays at wil. Swapping wil to mac on running plays just changes which A gap you are aligned in.
  15. Danny and Ted both have ast gm titles, and director of pp/scouting titles. So unless we let both walk they’d have to offer titles higher than gm to one of them. Maybe Mac has changed his tune but I kinda doubt it. Hes a snow bird who loves the freedom we give him. He hasn’t even interviewed for another job. I’d be stunned if both left. I like Cyril penn and think he’s got a great future in football. He is likely ready to take one job. Replacing both would be very hard.
  16. I wouldn’t be soo fast with jones. Unless they think his range on pass pro can be improved he’s really a 1 down backer.
  17. Hmm upper body can’t throw a ball. Lower body can run. Thor has no axe. Not even his hammer. Tough luck we will get it next time.
  18. Getting that DI spot back for D would be huge.
  19. It was like watching a Michael bay car crash series in slow motion complete with nuclear scale explosions.
  20. He would. If he is supported on the line and protected in snaps. But that isn’t worth 200k plus. A 200k plus a year guy needs to make the guys around him better. Not be propped up by other guys in order to succeed. Wj back at a reasonable rate with better pieces would be ideal. If it’s him or a younger dl who makes guys better around him for less, that’s an easy call imo. A di K really needs to be doing all the jobs to get Sergio money. A none imp/global or two to take over all 3 kicking duties would be sick. Agree across the board.
  21. Lmao true. Raise enough to upgrade the apple and road map to first class and steak with a side of gtfoh for a few guys. Take him back in a heart beat. I really like buck as a guy. Wasn’t a fan as a qb but I loved his heart and determination. I have a lot of love for zach too. But it’s time.
  22. Please hire buck Ryan. HMU I’ll pay the lions fine for salary cap overages this year if you do.
  23. I tend to agree. And I don’t think any one else will offer him the kind of money that might incentivize him to leave.
  24. And even then after the first pass when he came back. Every person watching knew it was over. To trot him out after that duck again and again is the peak of futility.
  25. Yup. My hope is he takes a coaching player role that doesn’t dress like the goat did his final season. He’s about as useful at lber as wade miller these days.
