  1. Whole ol 7 yards down field Brady just behind em
  2. Randolph really got down field and walled that off
  3. Nice catch n run Misdirection direct snap pretty good
  4. They’ll be too busy making excuses for what we did to Rourke
  5. I’d love that too. Not optimistic though.
  6. Some one get a couple extra workers to the rum hut and a bunch of water too. 3 keys for me, 1 don’t play down to hamilton. set an aggressive physical tone and maintain it, especially with the ground game. 2 score tds preferably many of them 3 rotate the dl heavily. Keep em hydrated and energized. players to watch: Adams see how he bounces back from hitting the pr for a week. Hopefully plays like his hair is on fire. Hubert, started super strong but has hit a bit of a rookie wall seemingly. Jones. He gets better every week and has a chance to solidify him self as a starter. Clercius. Hes been very good and steady so far but no big coming out party. Wouldn’t be Surprised to see him have a big game atleast once this year.
  7. No joke I’ve forgotten stuff on me that aren’t allowed and I just kept them in my hand. My wife’s purse has only been checked a couple times. Maybe 5% of our games.
  8. https://3downnation.com/2024/08/22/cfl-command-centre-refocuses-on-clear-and-obvious-principle-in-decision-making-process/ I like the smaller staff and more learning based responsible evals. I’m unsure of the clear and obvious part. They make it sound like the booth isn’t going to change much or have any incentive to do so. The cfl has had soo much trouble balancing challenges. I don’t know what the answer is other than throwing money at it. The reffing too seems to be getting worse league wide with the retirements the last few years.
  9. The biggest challenge of this game is not playing down to the cats. They tend to play us tough, and we’ve had a history of playing down to teams rather than burying them. Even last week we dominated bc and should’ve won by 3+ tds. A winning streak going into ldc/bjb would be huge, turning the red zone offence around would be too.
  10. Yeah. McI got up to speed much faster than I would’ve thought from early in the year. Guys a quick study. Feltmate, mci, and 7 ol is a lot of roster value for blocking, but with banged up wrs and considering how much we use the heavy set plus mci/feltmate being valuable on teams too it’s not bad at all. But with all that chunk on the roster we can’t be running 10-14 times. We’ve got to be putting up 20 carries bare minimum for Brady. Then we can weave in other stuff on top of that. More of that jet sweep to lucky etc.
  11. Only moderate thing (aside from the usual suspects) is still starting Johnson especially with wheatfall on the pr. Other wise it’s pretty good. Only 2 really bad starters who shouldn’t be here now. I hope they don’t burry Adams but I think they might. Just usual bad roster management.
  12. Gauthier wasn’t much of a down grade from biggie any way. also helps the ratio if Demski can’t go. which is pretty crazy given how prominent the short passing game is. The hash mark change took QBs from attempting 7-9 yard passes to attempting 0-4 yard looks. Idk what the hard stats are but I bet passes behind the line haven’t been even close to this high in the past 30 ish years. we did a lot of that in the 21 late season and play off run too. It’s clearly been the strongest base our D has run this year, the strongest any one has really. That and the 4 end package with every one pass rushing the qb. I think that might come back more with Habba back as our pressure pack, with less of the db blitz. All very much the rave down south too with the nikel pack fangio cover 6. Even down to the Iowa state 3s cover 3 pack.
  13. That’s a good point. I’m not up to date on college politics in Canada, but I don’t feel like we have a Florida type school that’s a football and diploma mill but not a lot more than that. I’d say most of the top college teams tend to be really strong schools. So it could affect things in both directions. Does the university of Maine have programs that will help you in an after career life in Canada more than a u of m ubc etc?
  14. You’re right. The national muppets. Still too generous. Nailed it, also maybe admit that they have hyped him to the moon and he’s still a young un proven qb. Not a “national super hero”. That’s a decent chunk but he hasn’t been on a Canadian football field in 2 years. I expect about a month of rust. You can always play better. Biting hard on db bait 4 times leading to two picks and a dropped pick could’ve been better rust or no. He could’ve used his legs more and made the game way easier on him self. He was in a bad spot for sure. But I don’t think he played as well as he could. He wasn’t going to have 300 yards and 3 plus tds. he will for sure develop and get better. No idea if he will come close to maxing out his potential or become an nfl player or a perennial top qb up here.
  15. The media is in permanent off season mode. As good as semi retired. No moves made no news to report though to be fair. They packed it in long ago though. Only news we are likely to get is tomorrow when the roster is announced.
  16. https://3downnation.com/2024/08/21/no-apology-needed-breaking-down-nathan-rourkes-struggles-against-winnipegs-elite-defence/ trying soo hard to put a shine on his game wow just gross. The national media is a joke.
  17. Lmao and being posted by a Shreveport pirate page is the cherry on top. Feels like we might never be free of him, but if he’s just a co I guess that’s not as bad.
  18. He has an infectious enthusiasm that comes from a deep passion for the sport and the league. I love it, though he does need to be managed by a color guy or host he gets a bit crazy and yeah the punch drunk thing is real. They usually put real media types like John liu (who is awesome) on the sideline. But I’d love to see a football guy in that spot giving more in depth updates on the game. Matty could let loose with his energy and not be over extended.
  19. Agree. We need all the ni talent we can get in this league. I do love seeing guys excel who played college ball in Canada, doesn’t make them better or more Canadian. If you were in a position to pick between a D1 school and likely leaving home for a good Canadian college program why wouldn’t you bet on your self and try to give your self the best shot. Jbr has mentioned it even if you don’t play you get drafted in the cfl. It’s been a long time but when I was around college football the difference between mid tier d1 schools and the good Canadian programs was still like the difference between the stamps stadium and facilities and the Dallas cowboys. In baseball they have had the same thing with “true Yankees” for a long time and it’s widely panned across the sport.
  20. I love what lapo brings to the booth, he’s a bit more loquacious than ford, who is also really enjoyable. Either of those combos and I un mute the tv turn off cjob. I’d be down for a show recounting the week with Ford, Paul and Dunk. Dream would be to have Sara orlesky host.
  21. You know it’s funny, I kind of feel bad for Rourke. He seems like a good kid with a good head on his shoulders. He’s got incredible arm talent and dynamic running ability. He got rushed up with hype before he should’ve, gotta get past the sophomore bumps as a starter before mop talks and mega pay days. It’s not his fault, but here he is. This league needs QBs, and stars and Canadian stars. I want us to beat him like every one else in the league. But I really want us to shut up the natl media clowns.
  22. https://3downnation.com/2024/08/20/saskatchewan-roughriders-qb-trevor-harris-named-cfls-top-performer-for-week-11-by-pff/ “The Bombers’ offensive line led the charge as the highest-graded unit this past week with a group score of 70.7. The best individual grade on the line belonged to left tackle Stanley Bryant who finished with a 70.7 score. He was followed by Canadian left guard Liam Dobson (63.7), then American right tackle Eric Lofton (63.3).“ Another suspicious pff grading. Our ok certainly played much better again vs bc, but big Stan had his roughest game in a while. Lofton out played him with ease. Randolph out played him as well.
  23. The allure of cbc is the massive audience you can reach. I know they’ll never come back with a killer studio crew like they did back in the day. And chances of them ponying up any significant money are slim and none.
  24. I’d agree that most of the broadcast content is better now across the board. But back then it was also worse across the board for most sports. Tsns primary form of improvement has been through having a new generation of people in front of the camera. I think people have forgotten how bad the old broadcasts used to be. I mean camera work is still bad, but it was horrid back in the day. I vaguely remember them being kind of nooby, but it was honest atleast. I face palm at cjob now a couple times a game tbh. It’s hard to live up to bob. Loved those days. CBC really had tremendous on air talent for the cfl.
  25. They picked up games that otherwise wouldn’t have been televised from 2004-2006, and had dramatically better camera work than the alternatives of the era. The booth work was mid pack, and while York was a pest covering the cfl he wasn’t bad on their panel. You’ve lost the plot if you don’t remember how bad the camera work and quality back then. CBC had a much better panel and booth work than the rest back then or now.
