  1. I would guess about 0.000000000001% Kongbo returns to the cfl, but to Edmonton. Wish it would’ve been here. https://3downnation.com/2025/01/12/edmonton-elks-sign-refocused-canadian-dl-jonathan-kongbo/
  2. I don’t want to lose those guys, that’s just who I think will have the greatest draw in free agency. And I think we will struggle to give them heavy raises. The chances we bring both back is slim imo. That’d be the most expensive secondary in the league with what we pay Kramdi, plus the vets. It will be interesting to see how our scouting changes. You can see the difference post ringmaiden leaving. Especially on the lines and at lber. I do think that db is a very deep position, and we have a great system for the right guys to succeed in. Plus tremendous coaching. I think fit in our system and growth mind set are the biggest factors in our db prospects. We don’t need to find stars like Hefney, we need guys who fit and can come up to make plays on the ball/carrier. With bonds, griffin, nichols and Kramdi we are in a strong spot, at worst needing to replace 1 starter and the dime/nickle. Then With ba/kelly/cole for we have lots of flexibility and not a great need at S. We also have bridges and the lotto ticket that is Parker as experienced guys who can step up and push younger guys in camp. Rogers and dandy are also guys who have one camp under their belt and some pr time. Considering our modp in ford is a fa, and could be nfl bound or get a massive pay day, and holm our multi year step up guy also a fa it’s as good a position as we can hope to be in. Best case scenario imo, ford comes back and Cole wins the job at S. Griffin takes a starting hb role, then one of Parker bridges dandy rogers and the new rookies steps up for the nickle and one for the dime. Thanks. That’s actually really strong value. Very team friendly deal. I feel like his fa market would be over 200.
  3. 390 for both years right? No way they gave him 130k a year more than drew desjarlais got from the rbs right? (160k higher than the next highest imp ol) That’s either a great deal or the biggest positional albatross deal that isn’t a qb. I believe it. He’s either coming back cheap or getting over paid imo. Teams don’t usually over value dbs especially ones that play like him. (Not physical, not a ball hawk, not a shut down corner, not an elite box and cover Sam/s) what ever you think of his level of play aside, he’s the easiest type of db to replace and the least desirable style.
  4. I think that’ll be the case. Plus with soo much front office turnover, I think we see things run a bit differently now. Hes sub lawler/schoen but close to the top tier of WRs. That said I think that’s pretty much top dollar for WRs now. I don’t think any one is handing out 285-300k for WRs any time soon. Lawler already came back for less, he’s about to turn 31, hasn’t played 18 games in one season ever, and only eclipsed 1k yards once (by 13 yards). Hes done a lot in limited time, and on any given game day you’d be hard pressed to have a better guy to throw to up here. But I don’t see teams risking big dollars on him now. I think he remains a bomber for a bit over 200k. Schoen the question of when he will be ready and how close to 100 he will be is big. Buck would be the biggest threat to scoop either imo, but they already have a wr to lock up and lots of money spent. I think the guys that’ll be hard to retain are Dobson, ford, holm and I could see teams trying to drive up the market on Lofton to hurt our cap space.
  5. https://3downnation.com/2025/01/11/cfl-wont-hold-neutral-site-touchdown-series-game-in-2025-report/ No td Atlantic type game this year. Which is fine by me. We don’t have a viable market for a 10th team in Atlantic Canada or an owner.
  6. For sure excited to see what the fresh blood brings into camp this year.
  7. Plus Lofton who left and came back. Mcgloster who went to I think tor. And Broxton in bc. We had been churning out ol at all positions for a long while. Both ni and imp. Teams have been getting fat off our ex ol for years. Bc might well start 3 ex bombers again this year.
  8. Honestly they used to for us as well. Last year we didn’t do a good enough job of bringing in actual tackles. Too many converted guard projects when we broke camp. I am a big fan of Randolph and what he can become as a tackle. I like vanterpool, but I don’t think he ends up a tackle. He’d be an excellent guard if you want to flip ratio. We signed Chris walker who is a long term project at LT. I like him as a prospect, I think he’s a full year on the pr away though. I actually think Wallace could be developed into a RT as well. Especially is he leans out a bit more. I hope we see a lot more talent at tackle this camp.
  9. WOW. Toronto out here swinging. Looks to me like they are hoarding ni talent, saving bucks and expecting to be able to just churn out new imp talent with ease. Ballsy moves this year for them. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. Qft
  10. Oc is for sure a big deal for us. We have to get that person in place before the legal tampering period imo. Really, asap would be great. Who ever it is they are going to be installing a whole new offence (albeit with some hold overs from previous years.) and they will need to put in a lot of work with zach, and marty. For my money, Sunderland is among the best guys in the league at scouting front 6 players.
  11. Correct. He's done a bit of every thing else with them as well. "Jauch joins the Blue Bombers after spending the last three years with the B.C. Lions as their Director of U.S. Scouting. Jauch is the son of former Blue Bombers player and head coach Ray Jauch (1978-82 as head coach) and played five years in the CFL with Calgary (1989), Edmonton (1990-91) and Hamilton (1992-93) where he also played with his brother Joey. After his playing days Jauch became a college scout with the San Diego Chargers in 1994, joining the Cleveland Browns in 2006, where he was then promoted to Associate Director of College and Pro Scouting, a position he held until 2010. Jauch returned to the Chargers and worked with them from 2010-14 before joining the New York Jets as a National Scout until 2018. He then returned to Canada to become the Director of Pro Scouting with the Toronto Argonauts before heading to B.C." Yep. In the end they did an excellent job for having to end up filling the boots of both Ted and Cyril. And I'm very happy for both ted and cyril getting great steps up in their career. Cyril is going to be a GM in a couple years if he wants it. All guys with high level experience as well. Gives us great flexibility moving forward.
  12. Love that pick up. He had his hand in soo many different areas of the Als football ops pie over the years. I'm pretty surprised he is parting ways after having been there as a player and front office type since 07.
  13. I could see that being the case for sure. The only way I could see us going 3 for 2 is if all 3 of these guys are cheap, since it is likely ted was expensive and penn middle up for sure. I really can't imagine it being Cameron, or Gulakow on the way out. With hamilton shoring up their front office, I tend to think Mac won't be out bound. An odd and un predictable off season that is for sure.
  14. Jauch is a massive score. Very happy with that pick up. Deslauriers is a sneaky good pick up. Im expecting he will lead the canadian scouting. Sunderland is a kind of polarizing guy, thats a big surprise to me. Edit, All 3 get the title of Senior Director of Player Personnel.
  15. Not just that. But not having any one in Teds Ast Gm spot. I really hope not, but I kind of worry we will. It's a big off season litmus test imo. How well and prudently we will the OC and front office spot. The rest of the coaching staff could be rounded out later. And the front office spot doesn't need to be an ast gm, but we need some one in that role. FA and the majority of rookie signings is a ton of work for the front office. We need all hands on deck. https://3downnation.com/2025/01/10/hamilton-tiger-cats-add-three-to-front-office-staff/ We just lost Cyril Penn to hamilton. Ted scooped him to be the new director of player personnel. That hurts. He has huge upside.
  16. Pretty much. Great to have that guy in the room too. Yep. Hes also the most physical DB on our roster, maybe the most physical and imposing guy on our whole D. He's not physically big at all, but he's an outlier like Grant. Just built different. Runs around smashing WRs and Rbs. He was damn good at Sam, and If he gets back to his old self he could be a prime candidate for a long term S replacement for BA. I feel like after last year, BA could play half again. But the physical side is just too much of a struggle for him to be S or in the run fits. Maybe another off season he gets even healthier and that changes. But it's hard to see happening at his age.
  17. Low risk, High reward move. He's still like 26 or 27. Hasn't started in an age. But such a beast. I'd love to see him healthy and back to his old form. I have no expectations at this point though.
  18. He was, but I'm more talking about a camp shot. Not an immediate departure for part of the nfl season that overlaps. Some guys get an insane amount of chances and looks, especially at QB and KR. I can't count how many times guys cut and who didn't cut it up here go and get another NFL shot. Position depth plays a bit of a role in that, a long with a bunch of other factors. Soo many, it almost seems random some times. Oh this db who can't cover man is going to get 8 nfl TCs, 2 years on the PR and a hand full of games.
  19. It's true. Normally, such a dominant season, little on two, would propel you into another chance. He's more deserving than pookie. But I'll be more than happy to have him play his career here.
  20. Strange move. I can get not trusting stanback with blocking. Butler is a better fit for what buck wants to do clearly. But quality wise he just isn’t there.
  21. He does though. He might be quicker than kupp. That was the same knock on all 3. And frankly he is the best tester out of all 3 by a lot.
  22. Agree 1000%. I feel like Wilson is an over achiever. Which isn’t a bad thing, but I don’t think he has another step to take in progression. Clercius is a guy I really want to see take a step. If he does he could be a big win for us. Really good at a lot of the little things, catches every thing, and I don’t think Demski has a lot of high level play left in him. Wilson had almost as much chance down south as schoen had, before Wilson got this deal. Wilson now is gonna have more opportunity. That’s just not true. The nfl has seen many guys in the last decade with the same skill set and athleticism as schoen or worse who succeeded at a high level. The rams alone have been using the Cooper kupp/ puka nacua inside and out over the past several years in the exact same ways we use schoen, with the same skill set and athleticism. I mean it’s the jets. They’re the TCF of the nfl in the first place. I think that’s how it’ll go down. We’ve seen a few fringe guys up here at wr get nfl deals kick around back n forth and change teams up here. I don’t see some one lining up to give up 200k or close to it.
  23. White zombie for sure. Which is all time great.
  24. I’d love that but I bet after another year or two down south he will be back and as a hc no less.
