  1. Is there a video interview somewhere online of Kyle Walters recapping their draft? Im a bit out of the loop since i moved to Nicaragua.
  2. The importance of a second elite corner has increased with the changes to the hashmarks. Hopefully both of these National corners can become ratio breakers but the barrier of entry with the rule change I think got a little bit higher. Hopefully Dobsen comes to the bombers in time for training camp but if we do need to wait for NFL cuts we have the ratio flexibility to start an American guard until alexander is healthy.
  3. After the long draught this team literally can't win too many in a row. I've got the same vigor for championships I did before we won the first one.
  4. Besides all of that. My issue with losing Lawler is he's a freak on the field. He's not replaceable. Having said that. We have more than enough talent to compete for another cup without him.
  5. JWJ is the same guy who thought he was a serious candidate for be at 2000/2000 guy.
  6. There's also Josh Johnson's salary I believe. What we don't know right not unless im mistaken is which of the players who re-signed took pay cut from what they were making before to help the team.
  7. Yeah he's certainly not specifically holding funds for Strevy. But he always seems to have an emergency fund (must watch Dave Ramsey). He will say he's done doesn't have more to spend and then he changes his tune when a significant player becomes available.
  8. I doubt that Winnipeg would scrape something together to make it work if he were available. Walters is currently shopping only for bargains and asking players to play here below value so he's not going to give a public indication that he's reserving capitol for a player who may very well be going to an NFL camp.
  9. That doesn't seem to be in line with the reporting I've heard. I don't think it was about money. He rubbed O'Shea the wrong way last season and O'Shea wanted the team to move on. Had more to due with the shape he came to camp in and perhaps his reaction to being told he wasn't gonna play during portions of the season.
  10. So the benefit to this is that so long as Alexander is not ready we could start an additional Canadian on the offensive line. Imagine we draft one and Dobsen comes to camp we will have an embarrassment of riches again. And if Desjarlais becomes available it ends up being a problem. Im hoping we get clarity on Dobsen early so we can draft accordingly. Would love to see a Philpot in a bombers jersey again.
  11. Alexander will be back but he's not going to be ready for the season due to an injury.
  12. The bombers have been in this situation before. Needing to use the draft to produce starting offensive lineman. And in other times needed the draft to produce a backup offensive lineman. I think they did alright when they selected Dejarlais and Chung. With the amount of skilled talent available high up in the draft i think that there will be a quality offensive lineman available when our pick comes up. Don't get me wrong. I hope Eli is signed. But given that nobody around the league seems to have offered on him Im willing to bet he's still not planning to vaccinate. I'd love to get political here but im not going to.
  13. Liam Dobson may be an option but I was thinking that if he's bound for the NFL Winnipeg would use their first round pick to draft a lineman.
  14. Outside of Lawyer i feel like we handpicked the guys we were going to have to lose based on positions where we already had cheaper replacements. And in the case of Lawler we spent the money which might have gone to him on Ellingson. Pencil Houston in at corner, pencil Sayles in at DT, pencil (use a marker) Oliveria and Augustine in at runningback, pencil Gray in at guard, pencil McKnight in at receiver. Darby was just a replacement for Matson who got injured and he's healthy now. Sounds like Alexander will be back. I would expect we will make some additional moves once the dust settles but we could go to camp with this team, recruits, and the new draft class. Any word on how much NFL interest there is in Dobson?
  15. If i was playing season long fantasy Id be targeting Bailey and Demski for year over year growth.
  16. Interestingly it isn't the first time he's played with Zach.
  17. Gonna have to make sure we know the numbers for Ellingson and Wolitarsky.. just saying.
  18. https://3downnation.com/2022/02/08/five-time-1000-yard-receiver-greg-ellingson-agrees-to-terms-with-winnipeg-blue-bombers/ I know reported already but thought id add the article. I think this is huge for us! Zach's accuracy with a good big receiver like that as a wideout is going to be a nice addition.
  19. Yeah exactly.. We don't really know for sure what this is about. But i think maybe the bombers need to shave some money somewhere. Id take Zach/Oliveria over Masoli (or similar)/Harris
  20. Personally I think we will be ok at receiver. Bailey is a larger role will be one of the league's leading receivers. Demski is really elevating as a pass catcher. Wolitarsky is solid. I think we need one free agent to replace Darvin. Ambles or Ellingson would be sufficient. And then you pencil in Kelvin Mcknight at the other starter and let the returning practice roster receivers from last year and a new crop compete with him. We've been down this path before. I wouldn't be against signing Brandon Banks at the right price to see if he's able to bounce back. He would have to show that he's still better than McKnight and crew.
  21. Don't see why would would want to do that when we've been drafting and developing that as a Canadian position.
  22. Its a tough decision. Its probably best for both parties if he moves on. Because he deserves to get paid and Brady deserves a larger role and more money as well. I wouldn't like it if we just had Harris and Augustine with an age combination of 63.
  23. The bigger risk here is that it could ruin his reputation to sign with BC if he no longer puts up the same kind of numbers.
  24. But he signed for big money with Montreal and it ruined his career. I think you are right but players routinely take less money to be a much better situation. Like Couture for example. I don't see Andrew Harris on this list. I don't think Stove is a priority because they have a adequate replacement on the cheap.
