No it wasn't. The first round pick, well woopdeefrickindoo. One year of buff a first round pick and table scraps ain't enough to get the conversation started about Hall. You know what might get a conversation started? Meyers or Trouba. I wouldn't trade Trouba straight up for Hall. Myers and a 3rd for Hall is fair but Deadmonton would be better off with Buff and Stu in the locker room and the 1st rounder...they need some backbone on that team. They will certainly be making a trade for one or more D men and I am thinking one will be an offensive minded one.

My trade was fair value for Hall. Don't forget I said a 1st rounder too. Deadmonton has a year to sign Buff to an extension. Buff will have all those young goal scorers to play with...lotsa PP time. Good in the locker room...good hunting for him around that area too. Stu can help out on the D on the 3rd pairing and good in locker room. The Jets get a star LW to play with Scheifele for the next 5 years at 6m a year. It leaves the Jets with two places to fill on D but it makes the team stronger and a better team looking to the future. Maybe Morrisey makes the team and takes a spot on the left side. That leaves Trouba, Myers and Postma? on the RH side. Toby, Morrissey and Chiarot on the left? Ladd-Wheeler-Little Scheif-Hall-Armia? Lowry-Stemp-Perreault Copp-Thorbs-??Ehlers??

Actually, I think Andrej Meszaros would be a good fit if he came cheap enough for 3 or 4 years. It would sure help our left side of the D. We trade Buff and Stu and the 1st we got from the Sabres to Deadmonton for Hall and our left side is set for a couple years with Ehlers coming up and our D gets a pretty good, experienced guy to play with one of our RH D-men. Hall's play in the world hockey probably pushed his price up though. He'd look good on Scheifele's line. Re-unite the Little-Ladd-Wheeler line and play Scheifele with Hall and ??? Armia? Staf?

The cash I suggested for Huberdeau would cost us a 1st and 3rd....I'd give that up for him in a heartbeat. I know it is just pissing around but I just wanted to know what everyone's ideas were.

Who would you go after if you were Chevy and you only have one to choose? Cannot have rights owned by Jets in 2014-2015. For me, the RFA would be Huberdeau. Not many UFAs worth chasing this year but I think it would be Andrej Meszaros. 25m for 6 years for Huberdeau and 15m for 4 years for Meszaros.

Drouin had similar numbers for the Mooseheads and went to the Bolts to start this season.....4 goals and 28 assists and if I amnot mistaken, sat the last game against the Habs. I'd be happy if Ehlers made the team and had 32 points in his first season...I just think Armia makes the team before Ehlers does. It's a shame Ehlers can't go to the Moose for a season to play against some bigger guys. Lowry, Ehlers and Stemp on 3rd line?

Who makes it out of TC that wasn't really with the team this year. Copp? Hellybuyck? I say Armia, Copp and Burmistrov make the team. Kostalek, Morrissey, Petan go to the Moose. Comrie backs up Hellybuyck for the Moose. What will happen with Ehlers?? If they send him back to Halifax, can they call him up mid-season?

He'd sure look nice on Scheifele's wing. RW would be Armia.

Oops about Trouba, fixed. We would make the trade for a sniper on LW with a contract (6m per) that expires 20-21. Someone to play with Scheif and Staff? plus PP time. It leaves us with Pardy?, Postma, and Harrison, too. It would give us great depth down the LW. They would make the trade because they need help on D and it IS a 1st rounder. I don't think we re-sign Fro...he'll get paid more than Chevy will offer...too bad, I like him. I would have traded him before the trade deadline. I wouldn't give Staf too much but would like to see him re-sign....don't think it will happen though. I could see Tlusty re-signing with the Canes. I think Stemp re-signs.

With all the top picks this franchise has had in the last 6 or so years, they should be making the playoffs every year already. Absolutely pathetic. Send Eberle to Winnipeg, he'll fit in with the style Maurice has them playing.
