  1. We are down 9-2 if either of our other two goaltenders were in net for the 2nd.
  2. is that a record for the most shots in one period against the Jets?
  3. Nice stick by Armia but he was about 12 inches low and it should have been a two-hander.
  4. he played 24 minutes in a game last season..........stopped 5 of 6. A good team would get on him fast and pepper him with shots and traffic in front of him.
  5. Comrie played in that game, a Moose 4-2 loss (EN goal). Pavs played the other one that weekend and got the W while stopping 43 of 44.
  6. Starting with the loss to AZ last Friday, we are on a stretch of 13 games where 12 are against conference rivals. Arguably the most important stretch of the season. So far, we are 1-2-1.
  7. It was for 13 years. Those contracts aren't allowed anymore but it is a nice cap hit...only 39k more than Myers' cap hit. I'd move him too but a starting D man would have to be coming back or Chevy would have to have another starter because that would mean Melchiori starts...Stu, Postma and Mel all in the lineup? ...rather have Enstrom. Hope Enstrom's fiance beats the bastard. Trouba points to Enstrom for his improved play.
  8. I think with Greiss (UFA) and Alzner (UFA) we are contenders...just for you Floyd, my 2017 roster... Laine Little Wheeler Ehlers Scheif Armia Matthias Lowry Dano Tanev Copp Roslo Alzner Buff Morrissey Trouba Enstrom Myers Greiss/Hellebuyck Poolman, MP and Connor need to be in the lineup too??? 100 point team easily with that lineup.
  9. On the bright side, Hutton is the lowest ranked goalie at .892.
  10. What are Huddy's responsibilities and I am being honest? I don't know how the assistant coaches are used on the Jets. Does Maurice tell him what matchups he wants and he makes sure they are on the ice at the right time or what? What does Kompon do? I have read that Woodcroft has been helping the centers on faceoffs but I have never really read anything about the other assistant's responsibilities.
  11. He had Crawford for one year and he had a .917 and is a career .918. Niemi one year at .912 and a career .914. If memory serves me, they won a cup under Falherty did they not? Do you really think a goalie coach has that much influence anyway?
  12. Okay i just did....he put up .916 .914 .921 while playing in front of a piss poor Edmonton non-existent defense...what's your point? Have you found a goalie that did better after he left Flaherty's coaching yet? Besides 99 year old Budaj. What does that tell you? The goalie either isn't very good or won't listen. What exactly is he supposed to do if he won't hold his glove higher for instance? edit ... I guess if Deadmonton had Minny's goalie coach Dubnyk would have put up those numbers there?
  13. We can dream, can't we? That young LHD I was talking about trading him for would look good about now. It is too bad though because he was playing some pretty good hockey just before his injury. Besides, the Isles don't need more D men to protect...
  14. All the more reason to go out and get a goalie like Greiss... What if in 3 years he isn't an NHL goalie and all our youngsters are hitting their prime? Maybe Chevy should go and get us a #1 goalie now?
  15. Because Pavs isn't that good. Do you expect a goalie coach to take a mediocre goalie and turn him into Ken Dryden? For sure he needs time...never said he didn't.
  16. Postma, Scheif, Lowry, Little and Trouba. EN by Laine from the booth (Armia).
  17. Not fair to compare him to the elite especially when he doesn't have that LA team playing in front of him. The Jets think he is the goalie of the future and I am still okay with giving him more time. If at the end of next year or the halfway mark he hasn't shown much improvement, it would be time to look harder at Comrie or acquiring a #1 goalie in other ways. Ideal situation was, and hindsight is 20/20, the Jets opening their wallets and acquiring a #1 to mentor Helle and let him develop with some vet help. The Isles goalie, Greiss, is one I would look at if he makes it to free agency this off-season. 30 years old and a career .919 and making 1.5m this year. 12-7-2 on a struggling Isles team this year. A 3 year deal or something.
  18. I looked it up to see what my opinion was at the time. I thought I was ecstatic about it and I was. I was wrong. They should have sent Hutch down and if he were claimed, they would have had a season to find someone for the expansion draft. What's a spreadsheet? Sounds dirty...
  19. Another serious queston then... It is obvious Flaherty has tried to "fix it" right? Why is it the guy being told to keep his glove higher doesn't take an ounce of blame here then? Maybe Flaherty should sew a string on the end of his glove to his shoulder so it won't go lower?
  20. do you honestly think Flaherty hasn't noticed his glove is held low? serious question.
  21. and yet when I look back at when Pavs was sent down you were very non-committal and didn't really say one way or the other.
  22. Can anyone tell me of a goalie that has gotten better after leaving Flaherty's tutelage?
