  1. Caps fans aren't happy with him. They say he would be the second defenseman called up if there were an injury or two.
  2. He doesn't need a job he has a contract with us for one more year.
  3. A salary cap and Chevy needs him for when the team goes on a run. I can see a team giving up a 3rd for him at the TD...if you could get a 4th for him now, why wait for spring...do it now. I haven't liked Staf since last year. I was looking for the things the Sabres' fans were complaining about and I couldn't see it in him for the stretch run to the playoffs right after the trade. Saw them the next year though...disappearing for games on end...really streaky goal scorer....lacked effort....couldn't play D. Where they were wrong was they said he always plays well in the last year of his contract...I'd rather see Tanev and Connor in the lineup than Thorbs and Staf but I guess we need that "vet" presence. After all, they are going to be growing with the team for the next few years, no? Why dress Tanev?
  4. Probably around the same time the team "goes on a run"...
  5. If the team picks it up and plays half azz it wouldn't surprise me either but it would only be a 2 year deal with an option for management for the 3rd year.
  6. I'm not saying this is untrue but if it is true, why are we holding on to him?....get rid of him now. Everything the Sabres' fans said about him was true.
  7. M-T 4m H-M 10m T-B 13m That's a lot to pay for your D corps. I like the looks of it though. Has Hamonic ever played LHD?
  8. not enough RNH and Klefbom and a 1st and we send Copp and Wheeler.
  9. I'd do both of those especially Drai and Nurse but they never would for Wheeler straight up. I'd throw in Stu and Staf!!!!!!!!!!
  10. He has been pulled kinda early but in all fairness, he isn't doing much to give the coach much confidence in him.
  11. for? edit ... could move some vets too if you ask me.
  12. What I wouldn't give to be sitting there listening to what was said and who said what at that meeting. Supposedly it was kinda like, You shouldn't have games like that in this league. (about letting them score 3 goals on the first 7 shots)...Before you know it, the season is over and suddenly it's summer again and you're training for the next season.... Just trying to make sure everyone is on the same page about what we are trying to do... That was the main point. ... I would have liked to hear what Buff and Scheif and Wheeler were saying.
  13. “It’s that time of the year where the evaluation process is honed-in and the needs and wants and desires of each team are discussed,” said Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff. “You set out with some marching orders from there. “I would suspect over the next 10 to 15 to 20 games, as you get closer towards that deadline, you’ll see chatter and intrigue pick up from that standpoint.” Cheveldayoff is not ready to throw in the towel — or start trading away pending UFAs like Drew Stafford and Paul Postma — especially with top goal-scorer Patrik Laine and defenceman Tyler Myers expected back sometime soon from injury. “A lot of it depends on the injury situation for us here,” said Cheveldayoff. “We hope to get Patrik Laine back in the lineup as soon as possible, as soon as he’s medically able. And the same goes for Tyler Myers. Those are two key pieces for us in that realm. “There’s lots of games to be played yet and a lot of discussions to have internally and externally before you can classify us or a lot of teams as truly buyers or sellers.”
  14. I was in a mood... still think he needs to do something.
  15. I went through the whole game last night without opening a beer. Tonight? not gonna happen...
  16. 4 more years after this one for 4.125, per year and we are paying Armia 925k and Lowry 1.125m...
