A salary cap and Chevy needs him for when the team goes on a run. I can see a team giving up a 3rd for him at the TD...if you could get a 4th for him now, why wait for spring...do it now. I haven't liked Staf since last year. I was looking for the things the Sabres' fans were complaining about and I couldn't see it in him for the stretch run to the playoffs right after the trade. Saw them the next year though...disappearing for games on end...really streaky goal scorer....lacked effort....couldn't play D. Where they were wrong was they said he always plays well in the last year of his contract...I'd rather see Tanev and Connor in the lineup than Thorbs and Staf but I guess we need that "vet" presence. After all, they are going to be growing with the team for the next few years, no? Why dress Tanev?

I'd do both of those especially Drai and Nurse but they never would for Wheeler straight up. I'd throw in Stu and Staf!!!!!!!!!!

What I wouldn't give to be sitting there listening to what was said and who said what at that meeting. Supposedly it was kinda like, You shouldn't have games like that in this league. (about letting them score 3 goals on the first 7 shots)...Before you know it, the season is over and suddenly it's summer again and you're training for the next season.... Just trying to make sure everyone is on the same page about what we are trying to do... That was the main point. ... I would have liked to hear what Buff and Scheif and Wheeler were saying.
