  1. Past hour
  2. This league has changed to one of one year contracts. It's time Walters changes his approach. I have never been a proponent of FA but it is now a necessity in an age of unprecedented player movement. The luxury of developing players is over. Fact is that Walters did not sign a single FA that has been an improvement over one he lost. And anyone thinking that MOS chose the FA signings only to cut them or not play them is smoking crack.
  3. Typical bombers loss. O'Shea needs to go. Awful decisions on his part. Can't believe he has lost his balls to take any chances at all. He lost them that game and a few more with stupid decisions.
  4. I don't deny roster construction is a problem. What i don't agree with is that many here seem to think it's our main problem. Overall talent level is 70% of the reason we are losing games. The other 30% is poor coaching, poor coordinating, and poor execution by the players. Does anyone here honestly think we could get a different coach and suddenly this roster is a contender? I don't. Sorry, we are talent deficient at way too many position groups.
  5. There's obviously an injury issue with Logan still so why dress him? We could use that spot on a more impactful player. Kick off returns and 2 or 3 offensive series isn't good use of roster.
  6. Oh that play call is fine. Qb has to recognize it's not working and throw the ball away. Collaros ****** around and took a sack instead.
  7. It's time to bring in a coach who trusts the players to get a touchdown from 5 yards out instead of always going for a field goal. He lost them a couple games because he's too safe. He gets them to kick 63 yard field goals but settles at the 3 and 5 yards lines. Even if they don't score they scrimmage from there instead of 40 yard line. He needs to grow a pair or move on.
  8. Biggest problem with this team is complacency and some guys never have to worry about their jobs regardless of performance (again, complacency).... that's coaching. Person and Allen and woodbey come in and look ******* good instantly but it was coaching kept the off the roster so long.... so at what point do we stop pretending that osh is playing the best at every position when we can see that he doesn't always do that... If osh won't change his approach this team will just get worse and worse because the message has gone stale. Too many passengers on this team right now and that's a coaches job to fix. Let's even say that maybe there's an overall talent problem here.... Let's say that oshea is playing his best players at each position... there are still massive problems with the way the roster is constructed and that's a common theme going back a long way. We drafted some high upside linebackers who don't get a sniff on defense while career depth Canadians get to start continuously. We have in the past dressed players who taken 0 snaps. We dress Americans to only chase kicks or do really niche situational things. I've described it in the past as playing other games on hard mode. Well that doesn't work as your team ages and loses some star power. Replacing stars doesn't happen magically, you have to actually develop players to replace aging veterans.
  9. I have NEVER stated BOLO is better than Clercius. I do blame Walters for lack of starting talent. That's a GMs job whether you like it or not. If you want to give him a free pass to hang onto the fantasy that the fringe talent that left for playing time is our downfall then you are the one not being too swift. Unless it is your belief the REAL talent such as Lawler, the OL, our numerous actually talented DTs such as Sayles, that left was a coaching decision? I see a crap load of FAs making huge impacts with teams that have passed us and our GM did squat. You can sit and suggest that MOS controls who is brought in the door and if that were the case all the more reason to fire Walters if he has handed off his job to his HC.
  10. There's alot of rookies in the secondary right now, and not enough pressure from the front. Lets see if these rookies can continue to grow, and learn before the playoffs arrive. If we can win some games, then get healthy, get Houston up to speed, we may be alright. I would like to see Adams and Woods more, and Woodbey appears to have some talent. If we dont have enough push up the middle, guys like Jefferson, Person and Vaughters arent effective, and I am not sold on Tony Jones at middle linebacker. In short, our Defense has alot of good pieces but how their used is another question. Right now, there's too much pressure on the Secondary to carry the load when our Linebackers and D-Line should be more effective. Offensively, using Collaros to scramble or to have a enough time to check down and throw, and to be able to hand the ball to one of our most effective weapons in Brady is all so important. With this O-Line right now, their best option when calling throwing plays is for Collaros is to throw on the run. The offensive lines interior features an aging Neufeld, an ineffective Kolo, and a rookie/sophomore in Wallace. Wallace is on the learning curve right now, Neufeld has seen better days, and many if not all here agree that our center isnt very good at all and that means everyone is compensating for his short comings. Is Wallace and Neuf better than what were seeing but they are compensating every game for Kolo? Probably. Do we have options at center? Does anyone have a back up center that is very promising and that we can use and suffer growing pains with? I am not sure. We all though Eli was that guy easily. Apparently not. As far as receivers go, we could use one more guy, since we all know Schoen needed more time, Mitchell is improving, Demski is always solid, Clercius is continuing to improve, and we have injuries there so I am not as worried at receiver as other areas. Really our biggest concern is a lack of depth when guys go down. Hopefully we figure this all out by the playoffs, because winning the Cup is all I care about.
  11. Logan has been a disappointment. He doesn't look fast/quick to my eyes. Is he still not fully healed? Got to wonder about personnel decisions over the last few years.
  12. I agree, Zach outplayed Harris, just imagine if he actually got decent protection, our guards were shown to be slow and outmatched. Our defense played well enough to win. two things cost us the game 1. the aforementioned offensive line 2. Coaching; -what oc calls on 2nd and inches a play for a deep drop back against a dline thats owned us?. - how do we roster only 6 dlinemen? Of course one gets injured and by the 4th qtr they are running on fumes * we have the best all around running back in the league and we don't use him. We seem to have a history of when up against a strong dline of giving up on the run. (ie Toronto ly) and we lose every time. - its pretty obvious Logan isn't ready and we play him rather than another db or Adams/Woods
  13. Today
  14. No it's not. We go all NAT DT on 15% of our snaps. We go 3 man front more often
  15. Straw man nothing, we don't need an all Canadian DL interior for the ratio, that's quite choice that is being made.
  16. Logan has been a waste of space. Woodbey was good, I'd keep him if we can. Get one of the Americans on at DT too. Don't care if it's adams or woods. As for OL preference is kolankowski sits but that won't happen so yeah get an American in the third spot.
  17. Not a comparison of their roles, a comparison of whether or not it was time to move on. We got it right with Woli and wrong with Thomas. Straw man argument because of a little thing called ratio. Of course Adams and Woods are better, just as most NATs have better IMPs that could play in their stead. Should we miss the playoffs i expect pink slips for quite a number of people.
  18. So the Oline, do we see something like Vanterpool for Wallace on Saturday? If Kramdi is back, he'd help balance the ratio and Vanterpool could replace Woodby. I mean, we need a Kolo upgrade but I'm not holding my breath. Heck, Logan hasn't offered much but no idea who you replace him with.
  19. In a vacuum I don’t mind them taking a shot on 2nd and short. I was more irritated at the context of them pissing around with Strev at the 5 yard line, then proceeding to not use the SY set when it would have been prudent.
  20. Guilty conscience because he knows Schoen shouldn't have been playing
  21. I went and listened to it and I thought he was a bit of a ****. DT could have criticized a number of coaching decisions in that game but decided to softball a discussion about a feel-good story involving one of MOS’s favourite guys and Osh got all bent out of shape because of the word “injuries”
  22. I love taking shots on 2nd and short... but you can not lose yards. Nothing there then the ball goes into the 5th row.
  23. Yes, but situational awareness.....I like an attempt at times, but almost the end of the half really tight game, in field goal range, not the time...IMO....you run, you keep the clock going. Yes I understand they are good against the run, even if you don't get it you are set up for a FG....IMO I am seeing a pattern of Hogan going against traditional thinking and trying only what I can describe as trying to be too smart.....There are times, but there is also times to just stick with tried and true traditional thinking....at least this is my ,2 cents
  24. The other thing to consider is that Zach has always been less than great at the short passing game. He's a mid to deep guy. Now we're in a situation where we seem to only be able to run a poor man's lapo offense which is just not suited for collaros at all.
  25. considering our system, the wrs not working well with zach, how frequently he was hit last night and the fact we couldn’t and didn’t try to run, zach did every thing and more you could ask. Yes his arm is significantly reduced from what it was, and his tendency to hold it too long hurts us some times. but he did what you need to do to win considering the position he was in. Oc, then kola, then wrs. that’s the hierarchy of problems on our O imo. after that it’s qb depth. thing is, a better oc could have our wrs atleast working back to zach or playing scramble rules properly, and put guys in better position to be used. If you fire hogan tomorrow and promote jackson, bench kola, and have a real battle for the starting wr spots, i think you see our offence improve drastically and quickly.
