Kudos to Doug Brown

Out of all of our media, Doug Brown is the only guy that actually asks hard-hitting questions...  Osh getting pissed when he asked about off-field consequences for penalties

Irving cuts him off to come to Oshea's aid.

Osh clinging to 'sticking together' line...

It's not a video game. You can't just put a QB in with no practice time and he plays to his ability.

Teams can fine players up to half a game cheque.

No they can't. The league can and the PA can grieve it. The limit for the team/coach is very low, was something like $75 in the last CBA.

Players can be fined up to half their game cheque, but only by the league office.

O'Shea confirmed on the last CJOB Coach's Show that teams can in fact fine half a game cheque. But he said anything beyond $75 goes into another fund that doesn't go to the players.

He said the league office can fine up to half a paycheque and that the PA would be involved.  An angry coach is not able to take half a players paycheque.  You really think the PA would allow that?

The league would need to be involved but initiated by the team. That's how I understood what he said at least.

If I was O'Shea I might have turned it around and ask a Brown how it was dealt with when he was playing and how would he deal with it? See what he might have come up with.

Instead, O'Shea got very indignant and said he wasn't going to get into it. When Brown tried to rephrase the question in a kinder light O'Shea got even more indignant and rude. Not very professional.

But it would be professional to go into detail whats said behind closed doors to players?

Why do you feel the need to know what is going on? You cant honestly believe because oshea doesnt dance to the medias tune, that he doesnt reprimand them?

He doesn't have to go into detail about what's said behind closed doors if he doesn't want to.  That's the right of the guy who wears the big hat.  However, he doesn't need to get short with Brown, because Brown is simply doing his job as a media person.

Also, if we are to assume that O'Shea is doing something about stupid penalties, we have to also assume that it's not working very well, so the question was fair comment.
