CM Punk Signs with UFC

Not a shocker that Punk is interested in MMA or that he'd want to work with UFC but plenty of shock that UFC would sign him to fight.

Punk has zero athletic credentials outside of being a professional wrestler and casual training. Has never fought at any level. Is 36 years old.

The backlash seems to be that UFC looks bad for signing a "celebrity" to fight.

Which part of wrestling is "fake"?  The word gets thrown around a lot by people who either have never done it or dont get it.  Lots of real contact and real injuries in a fake sport.

Saw the OTR vid.  Just my opinion but it showcases Landsberg at his douchiest.  Right from the start with that idiotic "potential opponents" video.  If Punk was a frequent guest of the show and had a

UFC needs Punk to win his first couple fights and become a legit draw.  Interest is fading in their product.  Revenues are stagnant or even declining.  Most of their main draws are either in limbo (GS

For those interested, WWE Network launches today on SHAW.  Havent seen which channel yet.

I did read on the SHAW site that customers will not have access to the Over The Top streaming service which is interesting because I was under the impression that that access was done through WWE.com  I also believe that SHAW customers will not have access to any on-demand content at launch.

For $12 its worth it for WrestleMania but the real value is in the archival content.

I have had the free preview on Bell for the past month. Its really good only draw back is they repeat the same programing several times over the course of couple days. With Shaw though you will be able to access on-demand content eventually which although not as big as what is online still a big library.

WWE offers access to their Over The Top service to customers though so that would give you full access to the US version of the Network including all archival content.  Ill have to play with it to make sure I can watch it on TV using a connected device.

So it is confirmed that the WWE advertises that Canadian subscribers to the Network channel can get online access to the Over The Top service but what they do not specify is it's only for Rogers and Eastlink customers, not SHAW.  I will be cancelling after WrestleMania.
