Has anyone been following the Ice Caps playoff run?

They are up 3 - 1 in their conference finals. One win away from making it to the championship series.

Interesting article here about scheduling issues if the Ice Caps and the Texas Stars were to meet in the finals.

Would love for them to play a game or two here. They are already moving the team so can't really alienate the fan base further. They've likely already taken the ice out of the MTS center. Wonder if there are other contractual reasons that wouldn't let them play outside of St Johns.

The Stars outshot the Caps 50-35 in the game. Hutch made this really big save with less than a minute to go with the Stars goalie pulled and the commentators were talking about Hutch having a brilliant game. From the limited amount of the game I saw, he was great. O'Dell opened the scoring and Riley had the winner.

apparently hutches 49 save performance is the third most saves a goalie has ever made in a calder cup final, fun fact.. the other 2 were in the same  game, a quadruple overtime game, one goalie finished with 83 or 84 saves, the other with like 73 or 74. Hutch did this in  regulation.

This series is reminding me of how the Moose did against Hershey back in the day.  Playing against a high powered, superior team...but stuck around due to the tremendous play of their young goalie Corey Schneider.

Darn, the IceCaps lost 2-1 in OT. That early whistle by the ref disallowing a Caps goal really hurt.

Hutchinson deserves to at least be our backup next season - and a legit chance to win the starting spot.

man, was flipping back between the caps on mts at the girlfriends place and cbc for the rangers kings and the production value of that ahl game was just awful. All the stars players looked very very black. But can't complain that much cuz it was on. Too bad for the caps, hutch was outstanding again tho.

Klingberg could be a good fourth liner for the jets next year...

 

Morrissey, ODell, Klingberg, Hutchinson - I'd say these guys are closest to NHL - maybe Redmond or Chiarot...

That's to bad... I think Redmond and Hutchinson make the club. Klingberg is a career ahler

Klingberg might fall into that same category as O'Dell.  he might be too good for the AHL but not good enough for the NHL.  I think Klinger is talented enough but as far as where he fits in, he's probably got to make the 2nd line on the Jets or his style and talent doesnt fit in the bottom six.  He might be a decent trade option to a team worse off then the Jets that might give him some playing time.

Klingberg is a free agent is he not? I don't ever see him sticking with the main roster, I'd suspect if he is indeed a free agent, they let him walk.
