It’s about time Atlanta got a hockey team. I don’t know why no one tried it before.

I see alienating the working class is funny to some. Cool.

it wasn't a joke? What does the "working class" (whatever that even means anymore) care about what hockey players make. Mark injects humour in a lot of his posts, I assumed this was yet another subtle joke.

Middle Class, Lower Middle Class, Lower Class, People living below a living wage unable to afford going to NHL games and/or buy their favorite team’s merchandise.

Not to mention the fact putting one’s children in hockey, community or club, is out of reach and getting out of reach for a lot of people. The gap between the 1 percenters and the rest of us schleps is getting wider and wider.

Youth sports in general are getting more and more expensive and its a shame.

Like funerals, it’s a GoFundMe situation now. Now we know why kids love soccer…cause it’s all their parents can afford.

Dude keeps signing 1 or 2 year deals. There’s a reason for that. He signed 3 weeks into free agency also. Why is that. You’d think a dude with 30 goals would get more than 1 or 2 years and be signed immediately but nope here we are. He’s not good.

Cleats aren't cheap. And if you play/practice a lot and use quality balls, that can be a couple hundred bucks a year for a team. Nets, field rental or upkeep, it all adds up.

Good skates cost 500$ plus. Nevermind the sticks.

My son played club soccer for five years. It was not cheap.

Registration isn’t cheap. Equipment generally is compared to every other sport. Golf is like 1500 for a good driver now.

Just under $1,000 for a good driver that's brand new model year. But you can get a demo that's a year old and still new for half that. But your point is valid that golf is crazy expensive. I used to be super into it in high school then was very casual for many years, and got back into it full bore a couple years ago. Started playing year round thanks to virtual/indoor leagues and this past winter I dropped thousands to buy all new (to me) gear for the first time in about 20 years. Such an expensive sport... But when I'm playing a nice course with my buddies, there is almost no place else on earth I'd rather be.

Kind of one time cost for clubs also. Will get years of use generally.

Yeah. See a little pricey but 1 time for clubs bag and then occasionally balls and tees and accessories prob = cost of 1 broken hockey stick and normally you break a couple sticks

Robertson rejects a 120 mil contract with Seattle and signs a one year 12 mil contract with Dallas.

Risky but hey hope TO signs you next year to a ridiculous long term contract and you flame out leaving them holding the bag while you rest comfortably on the pile of cash they delivered to you.

Win win.
