BomberBall. Posted Thursday at 08:26 PM Report Posted Thursday at 08:26 PM Schenn is playing too much. Playing him in back to back games seems like a bad idea. Namestnikov back at 2C because they haven’t tried that yet…. Oh wait, he’s been there most of the season and has 8 points. Ugh. Can we somehow pull out a win tonight? Losing to the Leafs is a special kind of infuriating. captaincanuck12 1

BomberBall. Posted yesterday at 01:44 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:44 AM Weak call on Pionk and of course it ends up in our net on the PP…. And of course it’s in the last couple seconds of the period. I feel like there’s going to be a hole in my wall if they don’t hang on and get the W tonight.

captaincanuck12 Posted yesterday at 02:49 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:49 AM Comrie.is beyond useless. Get rid of him and Nyquist, Nino, Koepke. Time to tank. Bring up Milic, Yaeger, Lambert and Chipper. What a ******* joke this team is. 1 hour ago, BomberBall. said: Weak call on Pionk and of course it ends up in our net on the PP…. Will Chevy's head fit in it? Bomberguy 1
Bomberguy Posted yesterday at 02:57 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:57 AM I was young but I remember the 80-81 Jets (the year before Dale Hawerchuck fell into our hands). I think their record was worse than this team but not my much. Maybe we can get a break and the lottery will fall our way 🤞🏻. Chevy will probably draft a Swede for our first pick anyway 😕

I do (I don't think Nino is the problem) yes I do think a Moose is due for a full time promotion
Bomberguy Posted yesterday at 03:13 AM Report Posted yesterday at 03:13 AM (edited) Near the of the Bombers disappointing 2025 season I was thinking “I can hardly wait for hockey season to start so I can feel good about a Winnipeg team again”. Well that blew up quick 😢 Edited yesterday at 03:13 AM by Bomberguy

Noeller Posted yesterday at 03:22 AM Report Posted yesterday at 03:22 AM Haven't gone winless in 8 since since Atlanta... Yikes. I'm not a huge hockey guy, so this doesn't bother me so much but jeeze...

It got so bad that Sports Illustrated sent a writer to follow the team as they were approaching the old NHL record. SI called the team the Loserpeg Jets. But we had the last laugh drafting Dale Hawerchuk. Bomberguy 1
SpeedFlex27 Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago (edited) (I found this on social media today. Back when having a professional hockey team was actually fun. Fourty eight years ago today). From December 29, 1977 to January 1, 1978, a game between the Soviet National Team and the Winnipeg Jets called the World's Greatest Ice Hockey Game was held at the Yoyogi Stadium in Tokyo. This is the cover of the program. The game featured the Soviet National Team's Olympic team members, Vladistav Trejak (GK), Vloajmr Petrov (FW), Valery Kharlamov (FW), Boris Mikhaylov (FW), Valery Vasilyeu (DF), and later enter the NHL Nikolai Makarov, who later joined the NHL. The Winnipeg Jets are led by Bobby Hull andAnders Hedberg, Joe Daley, and others. The significance of this game was to show that there is a major hockey league other than the NHL and that the WHA is an international league with European players in addition to Canadian players. The fact that a single team played a good game against the Soviet National Team also demonstrated the high level of the league. It was also significant that stationery and other items with WHA character designs were sold in Japan. Edited 21 hours ago by SpeedFlex27 Piggy 1, bb1 and BomberBall. 3

I can remember suffering through some very bad Bomber seasons & just sitting staring at the tv screen. Or in myseat at Winnipeg Stadium or the Arena. Also, I was a STH the first 3 seasons the Jets 1.0 were in the NHL. Not many wins those years. When the novelty of seeing teams like Chicago, Montreal, New York Rangers & Islanders, St. Louis, Boston & Detroit wore off, the hockey was brutal. I gave up my seat in the group I was with. I just stopped caring. Going winless in 30 games in 1980-81 did it for me.

As a wise person once told me - there is no great loss without some small gain. You have to look at the long game. We've ridden this core group for a long time with the Jets and had some good times. Just like the Bombers have ridden a core group for a long time. Now comes the pain. It always does. But some day, we will rise again.
