  1. 1 hour for every yard he recommends passing for on 2nd and long?
  2. Every company I've worked for you have your new vacation allotment January 1st. Even when it comes to quitting to switch companies lots of people wait until bonus time. Last time I changed companies I switched in March for that exact reason. Got my bonus from the prior company and got out.
  3. No different from any other job. Pretty much every single person I've worked with that has retired lets the calendar year roll over, gets their bonus, takes their paid vacation and then retires. Nobody retires in December and passes up on the bonus and vacation pay.
  4. I'm comparing draft day perception. Who perceived Scheifele as a stud when the Jets drafted him at 7? Nobody I was watching the draft did. It was mainly jokes about how the Jets are still drafting as bad as the Jets 1.0 did
  5. different sport, not an exact correlation, but by these standards was Mark Scheifele a bad pick in 2011 for the Jets? Ranked 16th, he was a bit of a reach at 7. Highly touted Sean Couturier was still available as well defenseman Dougie Hamilton amongst others ranked higher than Scheifele. That season Scheifele managed to get into 7 games for the Jets, earning 1 point. Couturier played 77 in Philadelphia, had a respectable rookie season and earned praise for his mature 2 way game for his age. The following year Scheifele had a 4 game audition with no points before being sent down. So at the draft, many, myself included thought the Scheifele pick was a miss when a guy like Couturier was available. A year later, it really looked like Couturier was the better pick. 2 years after the draft it was a bit murkier as Couturier hit the sophomore slump, but still had a year and a half of experience, Scheifele had 11 games. Fast forward to today, while the steal of the draft probably was Calgary with Gaudreau, Scheifele could end up being the best pick made in the 1st round. So not saying Richards will ever be useful, but the reason teams have pro GM's instead of forum member GM's is because you don't just run an autodraft based on the yahoo rankings. The pick may or may not work out, but there's no harm in holding off on judgement a bit longer before labeling it. Or like I labeled the Scheifele pick when it was made, questionable pick but time will tell. And in that case I was reminded why I'm not a pro scout/gm
  6. I float in and out of wherever the discussion is during the game, whether it's a thread or chat. Found myself leaving the chat room a lot though because the ignore feature doesn't work in there, and I'd get driven out by the crap I don't want to read. So in some ways prefer a game day thread because the few users I don't want to hear from I don't see and can enjoy the rest of the discussion. So I'll still be here either way whether it's a GDT or chat room.
  7. no source on this, I thought Medlock was the only kicker 100% on converts in 2016
  8. I like it, it's nice lots of leg room. I've started going to watch there every year. Based on fan experience I'd move Ottawa to the top, was really fun to watch a game there, lots going on just around the stadium before the game. But BC is my favorite stadium to go to
  9. Of the stadiums I've been to I'd rank them BC, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary
  10. How many games played in each league? Cfl is what 81 games? NFL so far is probably double that played?
  11. all you old people talking about this mythical Grey Cup win the Bombers are rumored to have had. I don't buy into religion because I'll believe it when I see it. I've never seen god or a miracle, or a Bombers Grey Cup win (that would cross miracle off the list at list if it happened)
  12. At this point does O'shea have a contract for next year? I know there was a thread on extension talks, but don't recall if he ever signed an extension.
  13. The way PI is called on now, on a close play in the end zone I'd rather a big body like Loffler try separate the guy from the ball with a big hit, than try get his hands in there and get a BS PI call (in this particular play he wasn't' close enough to do anything other than the hit, but just as a general thought). I loved the hit live, as brutal of a collision as it was.
  14. so back to the topic of the draft order, do we pick 1st? Toronto looking like they're about to lose and finish with 5 wins, Sask if they lose is also at 5. Week 2: Toronto 30 - Sask 17 Week 17: Sask 29 - Toronto 11 So they split the season series, but points are 46-41 for Sask, so in theory they finish ahead of Toronto in the overall standings, leaving Toronto last and us picking 1st?
  15. Could the bombers not fall to 4th if they lose? BC would be ahead of us, and we'd be tied with Edmonton who I believe has the tiebreak on us. So in that case bombers are 4th and cross over
  16. Had this the other day, think i was on my work computer so IE unfortunately. Appeared to be due to tweets loading very slowly.
  17. give rider fans some credit for their delusions. If they were in the west playoffs they'd be favored to walk over Calgary in the west final.
  18. That's an easy question. People on forums on the internet.
  19. I could have done without the site yesterday, but only because I was driving back to Edmonton from Vancouver and wouldn't have noticed.
  20. If it meant something to one of the players I'd give it back for nothing. Either that or tell them I'll exchange it for a Grey Cup victory.....
  21. This is one sentiment that always drives me crazy, but it's so common that it's on the coaches to have the players ready to play. I've never played pro sports, I wasn't even good enough for university, but I've played sports and I'm a competitive person. I can't think of one occasion playing sports where the coach "had us ready to play" in terms of focus and motivation. If you're a competitor that drive comes internally. If the players aren't ready to play a game pitting their 7 game streak against another teams 9 game streak, in my opinion that's on the players. Just my opinion on that particular thought that comes up often in sport. Being ready to play is on the players, executing is on the players. Game planning and play calling is on the coaches. If guys are dropping passes or missing tackles that's on the players. If you're calling a 2 yard play on 2nd and long that's on the coach.
  22. I remember a time when we didn't think they could win 2 in a row.....
  23. I can't say if this is accurate off the top of my head, but for years it's seemed like Medlock has the best accuracy on 45+ yard kicks, which has been a definite need for the bombers who don't always get deep in the other teams end.
  24. To be fair right now there are 3 other teams that are .500 or better Calgary - Haven't proved we can beat them, which pretty much applies to every team right now BC - Haven't played them yet Hamilton - We've beat them twice So for teams that are currently .500 or better we're 2/3 Then there's the teams that are close Toronto - They could be .500 or better, but we beat them twice so they aren't Edmonton - They could be .500 but we beat them once Ottawa - Haven't played them At some point the wins have to count for something. We have 4 losses, 2 to the best team in the league, one to the defending champions who we've also beat, and an ugly season opening loss to Montreal. But Calgary is the only .500 team we've played that we haven't beat, and there are two teams who are below .500 because we beat them. I know it's natural as a bomber fan to just be waiting for the wheels to fall off ,and yes this was the "easy" stretch of the schedule, but news flash, it's not a bad thing (or even something that ever happened to the bombers) to win the games you're expected to win, we normally lose those.
  25. The win streak is 7 games. Only two other teams have 7 wins for the season. A win is a win. It's also hard to swallow using not playing Heath as an indictment of the coach when he's been on the team for less than a week
