  1. Yup, pretty obvious forward pass. Almost got Yantz hurt on the non whistle there.
  2. Lafrance with the nice run.
  3. pretty obvious PI there ARASH.
  4. Just a couple bad plays by enstrom lead to 2 detroit goals, the give away and the penalty he took lead directly to 2 goals for detroit.
  5. pretty obvious the color guy on the score or sportsnet 360 is cheering for Montreal. Pretty brutal commentary.
  6. MB for DC? haha man
  7. Should be a good one. Wings giving the start to back-up goalie making his first start of the season, Mrazek or whatever his name is. Get on him early and the Jets stand a chance. Hopefully PAV plays well too, without PAV we have no chance.
  8. They've already promised to try real hard next year. What more can you ask? reality is, NOT MUCH else they could do. I mean, what do you want them to do? FORCE guys to sign here? kidnap their families? put a gun to their heads? all they really can do is try. That's reality. Then as fans, what do we do, oh wow they signed that guy we wanted, then that guy struggles or sucks? UH OH, better fire the GM right... It's a never ending cycle really... all they can really do is try, There is no magic formula, can sign this guy and that guy and all these guys but what does it mean? That we will win? Nope cuz the games still need to be played on the field. I mean hey sask is sitting at home right now meanwhile 1-6 or whatever they started montreal is one game away from the grey cup playing 1-6 or whatever they started hamilton tiger cats.
  9. Well that sucks.....was hoping Marcel was in the conversation too He probably is, just there isn't any topics on this site talking about MARCEL.. quick create one, get a bunch of responses and soon enough, there probably will be a "tweet" suggesting MARCEL isn't safe.
  10. I just find the timing of his "tweet" interesting, benevides gets fired, there is a topic on this site related to his firing with people going, hmm what about him as DC, then penton tweets that? I don't know, penton might be credible but the timing is rather odd.
  11. The fact is, this team is having a hard time scoring 2 goals a game and are what? 8-3-3 in their last 14 games? Goalies gonna let in bad goals every now and then, even HUTCH let in a bad one VS NJ... but the fact that we have a hard time scoring 2 a game and have such a solid record over the past 14 or so games, Well, i think honestly, if not for PAV really in 90 percent of those games in the last 14, we don't win any so i mean if he lets in a weak one every now and then, I'm willing to cut him some slack, considering if not for him really, we wouldn't be where we are in the standings right now. People can blame the goalie all they want but reality is, if not for pav and his strong play, we'd be fighting buffalo for dead last in the league.
  12. The fancy stats, so like Corsi and Fenwick and stuff like that. Those are interesting but i always find the eye test to be the best. Those fancy stats tell you that some games the guys you thought sucked really bad actually had good corsi and fenwick numbers. I'm not in to the fancy stats like some are, i just watch the game and really, stats can tell you a few things but what it doesn't really tell you is starting this guy over that guy would make you win. I don't really buy in to the fancy stats stuff, i think that's just what they are. stats. Stats can prove a lot of things but they can also deceive you considerably. Let's use football as an example, Nic Grigsby had some damn good stats for the bombers but watching the games, you knew he wasn't as good as his stats showed he was. As for the whole back to back goalie situation, well, every team does it a few times a season, that's for sure. Honestly, sitting here not knowing exactly what the thought process was behind playing PAVS back to back, i can't say but i can say that i really don't think he was the issue that game at all. The powerplay goal like Maurice said would have beaten most goalies in the league, gotta give props sometimes to the opposing team for making a nice play. The other 2, Like maurice said, would have beaten every goalie in the league. Reality is, we start hutch and the likely scenario sees us losing 4-3 in OT anyway.
  13. Hutch didn't have to do much and if you think that goal pav let in versus minnesota was soft or weak, the one hutch let in was the definition of a weak goal. Good game tho, boring first but good 2nd and 3rd.
  14. Or you know, Penton like others here could just be speculating.
  15. Well, Let's just say Benevides is one of i'm sure many soon to be candidates for the DC job. I suspect we will see lots of change on certain teams this year. Lots. The one question i'd have about Benevides would be, did he lose the room and if so, why? Or was he just scapegoated by a GM who made some very questionable decisions in the off-season? Need to know the answer to that one before i'd hire him as DC. People can say what they want about Buono, but.. there is no doubt that it's his way or the highway, sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't, This seems to be one of the times where it didn't. To me, this screams Buono saving his own ass here. You listen to some of those BC players talk and say things like 24 should still be here, was that a benevides decision or was that a Buono decision to get rid of him? I dunno, they got some problems there in BC tho. That's obvious.
  16. Yeah the D really wasn't the issue in BC at all, they went something like what? 3 or 4 games without giving up a TD at one point, the team to score that TD on them, The Bombers lol Lawless pushing for Lapolice already to get the JOB there in BC. would Lapolice, after what he said about the controlling GM Joe Mack really want to take that JOB in BC if wally is actually running the show there?
  17. Is this buono throwing benevides under the bus? Buono made quite a few questionable moves in the off-season.
  18. randy turner ✔ @randyturner15 The B.C. Lions just fired head coach Mike Benevides. In other news, the #Bombers announced they are going to try really hard next season. Odd thing to say considering the bombers have already signed 3 guys.
  19. Bennnett? Injury prone. Doesn't help the Jets at all. Lol the Jets are competing right now. From Atlanta? Buff was there all of one year if that.
  20. Would definitely be an interesting choice for DC around here.
  21. Pens would have to give up lots to get him, they are pretty tight against the cap and i'm not convinced he would agree to go to Pittsburgh anyway. Just get the feeling with Buff that playing close to home is something he really enjoys. Every time i see buff outside of the rink (not often mind you), or i see him at the rink, he is having himself a damn good time. I dunno why but i think he is a pretty important piece on this team. Jets themselves are fighting for a play-off spot right now, I don't really see them moving players to be honest, i could see them adding players tho if they are still in it closer to the deadline. I don't really see them getting rid of any right now tho.
  22. Realistically, I see them going after one of the OL guys (Canadian) so Holmes or Heenan, I could see them throwing some big money at one or both of these guys Westerman is another guy i think they go hard after, Just get the feeling that they wanted him pretty bad a few years ago, so now that he might be available, i could see them throwing some cash at him too. Maybe some foot soldiers also, not necessarily the biggest names but the guys that might get you the best bang for your buck, Sam Hurl, James Green,Jason Arakgi, One of the Long-Snapper type of guys. As for the internationals, Ernest Jackson and Willy have a history together, I could see them going after him, but i'm not sure they really need too. It shouldn't be that hard to find one or 2 international receivers. Also need to remember that a few other Internationals might shake loose, Perhaps even by giving up a late round pick, a guy like Xavier Fulton comes to mind, buried on that Sask depth chart but a pretty damn good tackle. Free Agency, seems to me that it's a way to upgrade the teams national depth, so i think if there is a national player that will help the team, they will go after him and hard. Internationals? I'm not sure exactly, i don't think i'd be throwing piles of money at the International free agents, reality is you should be able to find a few through scouting and that stuff, Don't get me wrong tho, Jacson and Bear Woods are interesting names but i wouldn't break the bank to get them. Go after the Nationals here, that's our biggest issue. National depth and theres a few guys there that will certainly help us out.
  23. Using up the extra cap space i'm assuming to sign guys to new deals. Love it. Anderson is a great player and was missed lots when he got hurt.
  24. Nope, he looks pretty good here on the wing. Just a little snake bitten but he's been dominating at times.
  25. Yeah, shocking really. Apparently he's still a game time decision but all signs point to him playing.
