  1. It wasn't a late hit Tom - again, you're off. Proves what you said last week as well (about the non PI call) that you really don't know what you are talking about. I heard the whistle live. However, none of the players did. I've seen this kind of thing in the past - usually in the NFL the umpire and referee (as they are the ones close to the LOS) will both wave their hands and blow their whistles if the players continue to play - and if a player (QB usually) is hit when they are doing that, they WILL throw the flag for Unnecessary roughness. I heard a whistle but did not see ONE official - and I only heard ONE whistle, until AFTER the hit, then we heard them blowing it again. Too bad for Darian - but he kept playing if had just stopped and stood there chances are he'd be trotting off the field with the rest of his teammates. He kept playing, so did the bombers. It wasn't the CFL's fines moment but it was the OFFICIAL's error, not the players, hence no flag. Late hit - are you smoking crack when you're watching the game? The play is dead when the whistle blows. It doesn't matter who hears it and who doesn't. Hit the QB after the whistle has blown and it should be a roughing play. EVERY SINGLE TIME. BTW: It's Terry, not Tom. Only the large majority of the players didn't hear the whistle, and obviously neither did Bradbury or else he would thrown the flag. Not a difficult concept. Quite frankly, if we lost Willy on a similar play after the whistle had blown, everyone around here would be rightly blowing a gasket. Chamblin can pretend he heard the whistle and you can pretend you did too with that supersonic hearing that the tsn announcers didn't even pick up but fact is.. nobody heard the damn whistle so just give it a rest with the same posts after every game crap. It's getting old
  2. I'd understand articles like these if we were blown out every game but our self inflicted mistakes were basically what cost us each game, people can go on and on and on about the running game and yeah it's an issue but.. riders only scored 1 offensive TD.. the time of possession was very close also, so the riders might have ran lots but they didn't do much else and those running yards let to like what? 1 td and 2 field goals? 14 points really, 1 single. Self inflicted mistakes these last few games with the riders, we hung in there with them, they are a very good team, they aren't as great as some make them out to be, or if they are, not sure why the bombers get no credit considering they hung in there every game and could have won all of them if not for some self inflicted mistakes on our part. The sky is falling for sure with the media and articles like this and a few fans, but really, think the average fan knows this team is on the right track, think the average fans understands we have been competitive every game this season minus 1 (the esks game), think the fans are being entertained, the fans are in to it.. they have come a long way in one off season and sometimes i think people (media and a few fans) forget exactly how far they have come in one off season. Do they need to upgrade some spots? You bet, Will they? probably not this season, we are what we are now but.... what you are seeing is a young team continuing to grow and showing heart, never giving up until the final play of the game. I'll take that over what we had the last couple seasons for sure. How many media guys expected them to win 6 games even? how many of the "fans" complaining the most expected 6 wins? I'd wager to guess, NONE of them. You had fans and the OP is included in this group on the chat during the game going on and on and on and on about just the most ridiculous stuff, ruining it for everyone else in there trying to actually talk football while the game was going on. Every little play was HOLY OVER REACTION, seriously, it became nauseating at times... most times actually, but funny thing is there.. those maybe handful of fans in the chat who were going on and on about nothing, that's who these types or articles are aimed at and the other interesting part is, most the people in the chat didn't want to hear this crap then and certainly don't want to hear it now. But you know what, for those handful of fans, that's cool, as annoying and ridiculous as it got in there, they aren't paid to write their BS, our media is. Articles like this are a joke and i hope to god most people don't take them seriously. Gonna say it, think Winnipeg in general has some smart knowledgeable sports fans, I'm not sure why our media tries to pretend we are ******** with articles like this though. Football is supposed to be fun, entertaining, it's really there to kill some time, it's actually sports entertainment really... people can say what they want but this season for the bombers, it's definitely been entertaining. I'll take this season over the last oh i dunno 10 really.
  3. #Riders have most 100-yard rushing games in #CFL this season (5) - @_GODSWILL2886_ Will Ford 2, @Ant_Allen 2, @JMessam 1 #TSN
  4. You do realize sask runs on every team right, they average like 150 yards rushing a game.... It means they run on everyone, not just the bombers.
  5. i don't know but if i had to guess, his veteran presence. Probably a good locker room guy. Perhaps he'd make a good LB coach one day. I dunno. I want to compare him to Chris Thorburn from the JETS, why did they resign him? Who knows, must be something they like. It's gotta be something we all can't see though.
  6. Sask just runs the ball, they run the ball versus every team, they are a team built to run the ball. Honestly, I think the RUN D when we play heavier backs is a problem but when we don't, It's not as much, guys like allen and messam who run north south are a problem, Cornish would be a problem, but with that being said, I don't think the RUN D cost us the game or any game for that matter, Maybe last weeks but even then, we made several mistakes in other facets of the game. Look at fords average, then look at Allens and Messams, the bigger backs are a problem for us, we don't have the players to stop these big bruising backs but finesse backs, like most the league has, we seem to do OK against.
  7. Leggett, Johnson, Grigsby, Stoudemire are all pretty solid additions to the team. Regardless though, Kuale did get benched for a lot of the second half, tsn made note that he was parked on his butt on the bench right next to O'shea. I dunno, i wasn't at the game and my tv doesn't show the entire field but... One of Kuales UR's were a for sure, the late hit on dressler, the one on the qb was just a dumb play but it looked like he started to commit himself prior to the qb releasing the ball, hard for a guy to stop in mid air really.. the other one? no idea. I will say though that after the game on CJOB, o'shea was asked about Kohlerts UR and on replay he said it was pretty obvious the player took a dive. So, With that being said, perhaps sask's players were diving a bit on the UR's today and the refs bit. Kuale was stupid though and i'd like to see him replaced but with WILD injured for probably a while, he won't be. Not this season.
  8. I actually really like Montreals jerseys, the one thing i don't like is the MTL... Looks kind of silly, i understand that's the Montreal "Initials" like WPG means Winnipeg but... Looks like a college team, Why not just put Montreal or Als Or Alouettes.
  9. Pretty apparent and it's been said lots of times before but pretty obvious burris blames everyone else but himself.. Always pointing the fingers at someone other than himself, not sure what Ottawa saw in the guy, he's washed up for sure, Hasn't thrown a TD at home all year.. That's just awful. I'll give hank some benefit of the doubt, sometimes, the receivers do drop the ball but lots of times, more than half, it's a bad throw from him and he's always blaming someone else. I'm starting to wonder if i was a player on the redblacks and my qb was constantly blaming someone other than himself, would i really go all out for that qb? Wheres the leadership from Buriss? You see it from every other qb in the league, even on drops, my fault and point at themselves, even when it's not their fault, buriss? blames everyone but himself.
  10. They are using Collaros better, still trying to make him a bit of a pocket passer and i don't think that's his strengths but... Not letting him throw deep too often, just little screens and 5 or 10 yard passes and letting the receivers or running back get the YAC yards. Montreal is also very very bad and Toronto wasn't much better last week either so... Gotta wait till Collaros plays a good team. Think Hamilton though is the best team in the east, all things considered. Just don't think they are as good as the worst western team.
  11. Really? 4 hrs before game time and all ready with the officiating? The officiating in the CFL has been crap all season. I'm surprised you're surprised. Yes, that is true. But every game the Riders have won it's always because of the officiating according to the oppositions fans. Which is total b.s.. I don't think nobody ever said that. I just think you are kidding yourself if you think rider fans don't ***** about the refs either. We all do, it's what fans do. At times we are wrong, at times, it's pretty obvious the refs are wrong.
  12. Collaros looking really good.
  13. Rider fans seem to be loud when they have to be, Bomber fans are loud all game.
  14. Als are awful, nice jerseys though. Crompton 1/5 for -3 yards after the first quarter , als had 1 yard of net offence after the first quarter
  15. This game just like the other 2 that we have played vs the riders will come down to turnovers, if we don't turn the ball over, we should win. If we do, who knows. That's really whats cost us the last 2 vs the riders, the riders haven't looked that great, they got a little bit lucky really, don't turn the ball over and we probably would have won both the previous meetings. Seems to me there is a poster (or 2, mainly just the one) who has no idea what he's talking about and has apparently watched different games, The reason we lost the last 2 vs them was the turnovers, if not for the turnovers, we win easily really. Really nice out today, no wind at all.
  16. Hajrullahu Sure but how many kickers win the Most Outstanding Rookie award.
  17. says one of the guys who just cant admit he was wrong wrong about what exactly? that we shouldn't have signed messam? If you think for one second that Messam does the same behind our oline as he has done behind sask oline, you are kidding me, he's not even their number 1 running back, THe guy sat unsigned for 2 3 weeks. Should we have signed him? I don't think so cuz i don't think he'd make that much of a difference behind our oline. Messams stats for this season 38 rushing attempts for 258 yards. Messams rushing against the bombers... 25 carries 190 yards... Meaning in his other games he has had 13 carries for 68 yards. He's not as good as you think. Would he have made a difference if he was playing for us? No, he wouldn't have because then he wouldn't be playing against us. He's put up all his numbers vs the bombers. 7.6 yard average vs the bombers. 5.2 vs the rest of the league on way way less carries.. THe guy has had 75 percent of his carries this season vs the bombers. He'd make no difference to us at all. Fun fact though : bombers lead the league in giving up the most rushing yards, don't matter who we play or what running back it is, they all RUN on us. Unless the argument is we should have signed him so then he wouldn't be playing against us. But even if that's the argument, why sign a guy just so he doesn't play against you, guess we should sign john chick and everyone else who gives us problems too, just so they wouldn't play against us. Your really reaching... its time to admit it now How am i reaching? Everything i said there was true.
  18. Bombers MOP- Willy MODP - Leggett MOC- Hajrullahu MOOL- Morley MOR- Grigsby MOSTP- Hajrullahu Not sure why Grigsby winning MOR would be a huge laugh, the guy leads the league in yards from scrimmage does he not? He's actually not as bad as this board made him out to be. Name another rookie for his team that has had the impact Grigsby has for us. You can't do it cuz that guy don't exist.
  19. Came back to soon i guess, hopefully he recovers and doesn't play again until next season, give the guy a full off season to recover and i'd suspect he's back playing again. But what a crappy game, yeah i get it was rainy and wet but... what a pathetic game, I'll give Ottawa some credit, they got a Damn good D but... man oh man, this was one of the worst games i watched in a long time and i only really watched the first half... 7-5 final? No touchdowns? Brutal. I'm not scared of BC at all.. they looked very very crappy tonight. Just as a side note, i was hoping in the off-season we would have got us Khari as our OC, but after watching a few BC games, i'm honestly glad we didn't.
  20. LOL. seriously? now you are dissecting ultra vague tweets that could mean just about anything? Maybe he broke up with his girlfriend? Maybe his injury isn't healing properly and he has no control over it. I mean really, This is getting crazy, dissecting tweets now?
  21. Kirk Penton @PentonKirk Mike O'Shea says Cory Watson, who left today's practice, is fine. #Bombers Bauming said the same and said o'shea said watson is fine and will play sunday.
  22. I think the term "healthy scratch" gets over used too much. I doubt he's 100 percent healthy just like i doubt Vega was last week either. Sears hasn't exactly been an iron man in his time with the bombers, he misses significant time every season, for all the "hate" lets say that watson gets, sears seem to get a free press and he's injured just as much if not more. Johnny Sears Jr ✔ @JJr0 When you can't control it, focus on what you can control and be in full control Guess that's the tweet that implies he's a healthy scratch? Pretty vague really. Maybe he's referring to the injury he has?? I mean, it's just as easy to think that than it is to think he's a healthy scratch.. can't control the injuries can he?
  23. Well, first of all, and i'll just say this because that's really all you need to know, Ehlers can't be sent down to the AHL this season, it's NHL or Junior for him. He's too young to play in the AHL.. it's junior or NHL for him, no St Johns for him cuz he's not eligible to go to St Johns.
  24. The other thing is, those under 30's, heck let's say under 40's even, 35 to be fair crowd, they will have families of their own and kids of their own and just like what happened to most of us, our parents were fans so in a way it made us fans too, our kids will become fans too. It's a never ending cycle really lol.
  25. Chris Getzlaf's status for Banjo Bowl is "up in the air" due to injury according to Coach Chamblin Should have traded him when he was healthy.
