this is the same thing we said about BC last year... their plan was to cheap out at QB and load up on other skill positions.... so either it works out and they're on the hook for paying the QB (which they would've had he not gone to the NFL)... or it doesn't... Toronto has to win it all this year for the plan to work out

agreed... I said this at the end of last season about both Jeffcoat and Wilson... love both those players... one could argue they were the two front runners for the Bombers MODP nominee in the first 4-5 games last year... Jeffcoat was arguably the best defensive player in the GC (on either side of the field)... but as is becoming far too common, injuries ruined all of that... and how long can you rely on guys that are constantly injured?

It pains me to agree with this statement... because Jeffcoat is such a meaningful player... but at some point, that loses meaning when you can only rely on him for 6-8 games a season

I agree with was a weird penalty… and I’d be willing to wager not a single person on this board knew it existed… however, the one thing I found telling was I looked down at the Hammy bench after that call thinking they’d be livid… neither Reinboldt nor Steinhauer were complaining and the bench was calm… which led me to believe they agreed it was a legitimate call

Don’t forget… Lawler had one of the best OPIs ever in the 21 GC… loss of down on that one is a turn over, not 3 points… without that play, we might not have won

I know this is kind of an “old man yells at cloud” take… but I actually agree with you here… I immediately noticed the player without high socks and thought it looked bush league… I’m also a sucker for traditional numbers… hate seeing DL and LB wearing single digits… when Biggie first showed up and he was wearing #50 at camp… 🥰

I agree... not expecting the # to be retired... but I thought they would take it out of rotation for a little while You can't really retire most numbers because you need so many in football... but I think there's probably a time frame there to honour some of the greats... not sure what that is, maybe 5 years?... I don't remember if #1 was issued only two seasons after Charlie left... but if it was, I would disagree with that too.... I remember being a disappointed when #97 was issued only a few years after DB retired...#85 still hasn't been issued since Milt retired.

I would say I’m a little disappointed with our upgrades (or lack thereof) at LB and DL… I suppose if C Thomas, Haba, and Bennett end up being legit players, that helps the DL a lot… but going into the season with a LB core of old Bighill, always injured Wilson, uninspiring Clements, and most unknown Cole is underwhelming… hopefully Clements and/or Cole make some major steps this year as both are still relatively young (both 26) So in your scenario, the day 1 starting DL is the Jeff’s, Thomas and Schmeckel?…Why do you keep saying that Schmeckel is the replacement for Sayles?… when it’s very clearly Walker… and if for some reason you’re assuming we are replacing him with a Canadian, then it would be Lawson… I can’t see Schmeckel making the active roster, never mind being a starter

So all the people saying that Leggs will make the team because of his passport... that's actually irrellevant because Castillo taking up the DI spot is the only thing that really matters... and that still happens whether the punter is Leggs or one of the globals

Let's say you're correct and the teams sticks with Castillo and a global to punt... how does that effect the roster composition?... Castillo has to be DI'd and the punter just counts as one of our two globals? No effect on how many Canadians dress?

I think I recall hearing he has university eligibility and it’s likely that was the plan for him all along.
