Penalties Galore
I don't know quite what to make of all the penalties tonight ... For a moment I thought someone had hired the zebras to help with a Vegas bet on beating the odds of both preseason games ending in a tie; that would be quite a payout but then I slapped myself in the face: "Nah that coudn't be it" So I am not sure what was behind all those pass interference and roughing the passer calls .... I don't think the zebras could have called that many in the huddle.... was it just new Yankee DBs not knowing our rules ... or do we have a coaching problem? Or maybe the DB's were tickling the receivers with a feather? BTW when was the last time we have seen an offensive pass interference call .. they seem to occur much more below the border but I can't think of why that would be fair ... It must be that I am just blind and can't see without the benefit of the TSN broadcast crew Tomorrow I will be interested in seeing the statistics .... I want to check to see if Edmonton's penalty yardage gained exceeded their total offensive output

that's quite a judgment and untrue .... I just will pick certain issues and stick with them until addressed .... I am upbeat on the Blue this year as most .... this is the best team and the best hope we have had since the Milt Steagall days ... I like MOS's leadership but he has flaws that are not minor and may cost us the championship this year or next .... I have lived and died by the Bombers since 1961 when I wasn't old enough to read the newspaper .... I love the Bombers and everything CFL (and in the last 15 years the New England Patriots) Its far easier to label someone a Negatron than to have a fair and open discussion about the issues of the moment You confuse Bomber loyalty with conformity and party line .... why do you think Kyle Walters has sharp disagreements with MOS .... do you put him in your Negatron category too? You seem as unreasoned as a babbling Democrat waving the Hillary flag mindlessly uttering party propaganda

Everybody wants to over simplify and label ... better to live off emotion than to think discretely with judgment .... sort of reminds me of the American political system

What makes you think I "hate football and this team"?

Pre-Season Week 2
so 8 Canadian starters?

Bombers cut Apodaca, Frederick and 9 more
I am sort of ok with low risk Lapo and controlling turnovers but if our new DLine fails to get pressure on the QB .... it could be a long year if we are repeating last year's defensive stats .... as it stands we are totally dependent on winning the giveaway takeaway battle

"nothing here" if you like but i want to keep an eye on his propensity for good judgment .... like betting your season on a 61 yard FG or sticking with Willy until forced by management to make a change ... or sticking to very passive coordinators in an aggressive league I love MOS as our coach but he needs to learn to take some advice and modify what he does, not just over manage or under manage .... I think MOS takes us to the western final this year but that is still two victories shy of a Grey Cup .... someone needs to help MOS overcome his stubborn flaws

Bombers cut Apodaca, Frederick and 9 more
the question is not conspiracy bu a questioning of MOS's judgment ... there has been reason to question part of it in the past and the suggestion that certain blind spots continue to exist to the detriment of the whole club ... others who see the flaw/s may end up in sharp disagreement ... that is the nature of the current discussion/emerging problem identification

IIRC he was viewed as the next up and comer before Nichols' multiple injuries and hence the need for Reilly to do it all

So tell me why no member of the media has asked why Apodaca was cut ... is it their job to NOT ask tough questions? Don't rock the boat right? Did none of them see any potential in Austin?

And we earn our fees straightening out organizational problems ... our diagnostics measure conflict as one of 7 crucial areas .... respectful disagreement and diverse views is very different than striving

What you say is true, at least in theory, and I know my theory (I have a masters degree in leadership) but it is also narrow in viewpoint and not always that practical in the real world where things are more often run off competition, fear and envy ... continuous major disagreements amongst senior managers lead to same very dysfunctional things (especially striving), the opposite of organizational health and then they have to be repaired ... thats the difference between academics (and seminar boosts) and solving key organizational problems between very powerful senior managers

Chris Jones won a Grey Cup and then got a fat contract ... his flaws are everywhere and plain to see but he is a success story .... MOS has flaws too but I also think he will be another success story, maybe even this year .... you just need your strength of character to be greater than your flaws and I think that is even more true for MOS than for Jones .... but that does not mean those flaws won't drive everyone nuts once in a while or even more often than that

Bombers cut Apodaca, Frederick and 9 more
baseless speculation: I don't think so .... see Kuale, Bellefueille and now Richie Hall .... its possibly showing up with Apodaca now who wasn't given a chance to play a down .... I know what i saw of him in practice (he was very good with a great arm).... I am guessing there was no special character flaw in the man or that he was just too green to be a worthwhile project .... it is most likely that MOS just has no interest in Apo and any reason given for his departure will be self justification and NOT good football reasons
-
Bombers cut Apodaca, Frederick and 9 more
My agenda is simple .... I am actually glad MOS is our coach BUT he often will not be open to possibilities outside of his narrow expectations .... thats why he kicks an ill advised FG in a playoff game when he had time to move the ball closer

Bombers cut Apodaca, Frederick and 9 more
as a management consultant specializing in organizational health I can say that what you say is occasionally true and it is very good when it can happen that way ... from hard experience I can tell you it is usually the opposite and that wounds linger and sometimes even fester .... the point I am making is that MOS had a mistaken sense of loyalty and a too narrow perceptual field ... or in other words sometimes he don't see so straight

legs are working perfectly .... work in a leadership spot for a while and see what "sharp disagreements" accumulate to and what impact they have on a relationship ... the little things add up to big time eventually
