  1. Interesting email came out from the CFL today with a pre-sale for playoff tickets for every team except BC and Winnipeg. Montreal has playoff tickets on sale. Is the fix already in???
  2. Bruce Johnson is absolutely NOT better than Washington. He is. NotIs.
  3. Bruce Johnson is absolutely NOT better than Washington. He is.
  4. Lirim has probably gone from a multi year offer with nice guaranteed money in the neighbourhood of $100k per season, to a near minimum contract offer with no guaranteed money. He gambled and lost.
  5. WINNIPEG, MB., October 13, 2015 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the additions of International receiver Jace Davis and International running back Steven Miller to the practice roster. Davis (6’1, 206, Northern Colorado, August 22, 1991 in Lone Tree, Col.) played 43 games for the UNC Bears, catching 162 balls for 2,470 yards and 16 touchdowns. In 2010 he was named to the Big Sky All-Conference First Team, and in 2012 he was an honourable mention. Davis spent time in the NFL with the Texans and Ravens after signing as an undrafted free agent in Baltimore in 2014. Miller (5’7, 172, Appalachian State, March 23, 1991 in Plainfield NJ) ran the ball for 1,368 yards and 11 touchdowns in his senior year with the Mountaineers. He also added four touchdowns through the air that year. Miller spent the entire 2013 season on the Detroit Lions’ practice squad, before heading to Saskatchewan in 2014. In spot-duty with the Riders, he racked up 131 rushing yards, and another 310 on kickoff returns. The club also releases running back Jeff Scott from the practice roster.
  6. Walters might leave on his own to Guelph.
  7. CGY (11-4) & EDM (11-4) are battling for the first round bye and WSF homefield advantage. If both keeps their winning ways it would be a tight race to the finish. I believe CGY has the tie-breaker. Same thing in the East for HAM (9-5), TOR (9-5) and OTT (8-6). HAM has all the tie-breakers. Ths is a tight 3-race (WSF home, ESF home, 3rd West/crossover) to the finish. I see no team resting players. The standings on CFL.ca currently has Edmonton in 1st place and Calgary in 2nd. So I think Edmonton has the tie breaker. That's correct. Edmonton won the season series against Calgary this year.
  8. Glenn would make Montreal a championship caliber team in my opinion.
  9. I'm worried the Als trade for Glenn this week. That'd make them the favourites for the last playoff spot.
  10. What's funny is the reports on here said the kid was looking really good and was improving as the camp went on... Looked great in training camp. But pre-season games were a different story. He looked lost. Also heard he showed up for practices right at the last minute. Not a good idea for a rookie.
  11. Heard Reaves didn't have the right attitude. Plus he was a mess when on the field.
  12. Not much of one tho. If he was here all season sure but bass Westerman and Adams are the MVPS of this team.Ya not saying for the entire season because he wasn't here for most of it. I just meant on a per game basis, in terms of a difference maker. He's right there with Westerman.
  13. An argument can be made for Ian Wild being our MVP. He's a legit, but underrated, stud.
  14. Lots of rumours he'll end up with the Bombers.
  15. I'd say last game of the season is the earliest we see him play. I'm beginning to think we may not see him again this year.
  16. Career Stats: Has made 38 of 49 field goals in his career with a long of 56. Converted 174 of 177 extra-points and will go down in school history as one of the top kickers WT has had. He ranks third all-time in school history in scoring at 288 points. Set the school-record for field goals in a season in 2012 with 20 and owns the school record for career field goals with 38. Broke the school record for consecutive PATs in a career with 64 during the 2012 season as he made 69 of 70 for the year. Has the second-longest field goal made in school history at 56 yards against Abilene Christian in 2012. 2012: Ranked tied for ninth nationally in field goals per game at 1.33 this past season. He also finished 35 nationally in scoring at 8.60 points per game. Went 38 of 49 in field goals made with a career-long 56-yarder against Abilene Christian. Went 69of 70 in extra-points, setting the school-record for 64 consecutive extra-points made during the season. Earned first team all-conference honors and earned Daktronics First Team All-America accolades, as well as being a first team Daktronics All-Region selection. Castillo also earned D2Football.com Honorable Mention All-America honors and BSN Sports First Team All-America accolades. He also was a Little All-America First Team honoree. 2011: Castillo became one of the best kickers in the Lone Star Conference during his sophomore campaign for the Buffs in 2011. He connected on 9 of 13 field goals with a long of 44 yards for a percentage of 69.2. Castillo was good on 6-of-7 from 20-29 yards and 2 of 3 from 30-29 yards on the season, he also went 49 of 50 in PAT’s to rank second on the team in scoring with 76 total points. The sophomore also filled in on kickoffs at certain points of the season, kicking off six times for 385 yards and two touchbacks. For his efforts on the field, Castillo was named to the All-Lone Star Conference First Team. 2010: Castillo stepped into a starting role for the Buffs as a redshirt freshman during the 2010 season. The La Joya native went 9 of 13 with a long of 40 yards for a percentage of 69.2 on the season. Castillo was a perfect 5 for 5 from 20-29 yards out and 1 of 1 from 30-39 yards. Castillo also kicked off the ball nine times for 476 yards. The freshman was named a member of the All-Lone Star Conference First Team for his efforts on the field. 2009: Redshirted. La Joya High School: Castillo earned first team all-district honors as a placekicker and was a second team selection as a punter for La Joya (Mission, Texas) HS. He also lettered in baseball and soccer for the Coyotes, while also playing in the band. Personal: Born Nov. 1, 1990. Mother is Maria Guadalupe Cazares. Castillo graduated with a degree in history and starting graduate school this fall.
  17. The main problem is he can't get the run game going because the play calls and schemes are so vanilla and predictable.
  18. Is that Brett The Hitman Hart?
  19. @Ravens: We have promoted WR Jeremy Ross to the 53-man roster and waived DT Christo Bilukidi.
  20. I know but you need backups. If Bastien gets injured, no Canadian WR to step in. It's doable but leaves us very thin.
  21. Start with handing Neufeld a plane ticket to Saskatoon. We can get a late round pick for him but yup, start with the oline and then receivers, Marcel may be a bad coordinator but your top players can't be missing assignments and dropping balls in big games. Was really disappointed with both Nichols and Moore's performances last night, as leaders on the O. these guys need to be able to step up for big games and make **** happen. Hard to do much when you're always 2nd and long. A lot of that rests on Marcel's inability to get the run game going.
  22. Picard had an upper body injury. Goossen is ready to start. Didn't miss a beat with him in there. His snaps didn't float either like Picard's. Actually - I have to disagree a bit with you on that one g-bill. We did miss a beat - a big beat - as in Picards' standard roughing call he always gets (like in first half), a sure hold he would have done on Denmark's TD, and I'm sure he'd have had a few 'blown' assignments where Nichols would have been blown up. Not saying I don't mind missing those beats though Overall - what a second half. Tracker opined in the chat if the bombers had ever come back before to win a game (this year) well we know now. I wrote the team off in the first half but glad I stuck with it in the second half. Oh - Castillo for Mayor - did extremely well and didn't seem to mind the long converts at all (only had to kick two of them though but was money both times) lol yea, you could certainly make an argument that Goossen is an upgrade over Picard. Only thing with Picard out is that it creates a bit of a ratio issue. Same with Kohlert...Bastien might be our only healthy NI receiver at the moment.
