[MERGED] Drew Willy Watch 3.0 Has Ended
gbill2004 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
According to CJOB Willy is out this week. Adams and Cotton also out. -
Marve starting gets me excited. Brohm starting makes me want go into a deep depression.
-
He's too stubborn, too loyal and he doesn't understand offenses enough to challenge and critically assess his own OC.

I think people here think the bombers are a playoff team - two years ago we were the league's doormat. Wasn't even close. We have improved greatly to a team that can compete on most nights. However, when we play a team that is better than us (and IMO that's just about every team in the league I'm afraid - even SK as though they are losing they are not getting pounded) and they play to their potential - that's what we get - pounded. I PVR'd the game as I was at a family bbq - watched it last night and laughed all through the 1st half - but the second half - I was impressed with our fight. I was really impressed with how Willy played. That, IMO, was a good character building game. We were beaten very badly in the first half but came out swinging in the 2nd half - almost made a game of it. Good on them! That is a step in the right direction believe it or not. We are a possible playoff team if Willy is healthy and it is increasingly in doubt as to whether the current O-line can do that. We weren't the worst team in the league last year because Ottawa started up and if Willy is off-line for more than a game or three this year, the only thing that will stop us from being bottom feeders will be the Roughies.True, the team defence tightened up in the second half against the Tabbies, but considering how impotent the Bomber offence was all game, do you think we had a hope in Hades of winning? Maybe Bellefeuille needs to start taking Viagra.

Exactly we are 0-3 against the best two teams in the league only have to face Edmonton once more at home. 3-1 against the rest of the league. If we can win 7 or 8 games in the next eleven, we should make the playoffs. I doubt that a 9 and 9 season even with crossover potential gets us there with three teams in the east already with 4 wins. Gonna have to start counting the free squares on the bingo cards to see what our chances are for the post season. Sweeping the Riders is becoming critical. Jeez, nothing like even more pressure going into the rubber match in September. Rubber match...does that mean all the players wear condoms during the game?

So that fact we haven't heard anything yet on Willy, is that a good or bad sign? Last time, we heard rumors the next day I believe that it wasn't as serious as it looked. My concern is this could be bad. Sure hope I'm wrong though. -
While Durants salary won't count against the cap I heard he had a sizeable bonus that willRumor is DD got 200k up frontThat's stil close to $300k not counting against the cap. I could be wrong but thought he was in the low 400"s like 425'ish. Your right about the money savings but I'd rather DD on the field than save the money. Been a tough year so far without himI read his last contract made him the highest paid QB right around $500k per season.

Cam Marshall.

I thought the Bombers have interest with Peters during the free agency too because of his familiarity with Ritchie Hall's D ... but I could be wrong. You are correct. Bombers did have interest. Not sure about now, but I'd hope they still do.

He played later in the 4th.

I've posted on here several times that I believe the protection problems are a result of (in order):1. Bellefeuiles schemes 2. Willy holding the ball too long and pre-snap reads/adjustments 3. OL talent/coaching
-
I've counted several times where Willy gets sacked and he's had 4+ steamboats of protection.

How long does it take to heal from a hyperextended knee? For a mild knee hyperextension, you can expect your knee to heal in 2-4 weeks. For sever knee hyperextensions with additional injuries such as a meniscus tear and ligament tear (acl, pcl, mcl), it will be necessary to have surgery. The rehab process for a sever hyperextended knee with a torn ligament will take 6-9 months of rehabilitation. -
The mortgage payments are no problem. IGF is an asset to the Bombers, not a liability.

Have the riders been blown out this year like we have, several times? I don't think so. For me, it's discouraging to have the team look decent against BC, and then just a few days later, look so unprepared and outmatched against Hamilton. this game was over before the end of the first quarter. I find it hard to accept that Hamilton's players are that much better than ours. Would we as fans be doing somersaults if we traded receivers with Hamiltion? no. running backs, quarterback? don't think so. thought our new o lineman were cream of the crop. so… That leaves coaching. Hamiltons D-line and Canadian depth are elite.

I've never seen it. I respect JBRs football knowledge, but often he sees things in a game that just aren't there.
-
O'Shea is having trouble understanding he's not a player anymore. Unfortunately I think he'll only figure this out after his first firing.

Bellefeuille and to a lesser extent Willy holding onto the ball too long are the problems with protection. The actual OL isn't the primary problem. Flat out wrong. Willy had guys in his face when he got the snap on numerous occasions. About the only sack he took where he held the ball for even a remotely longer than he should have was a 2nd and 20 when he needed extra time to let the guys downfield get open. The OL is the entire problem with the offense. It is abysmal and was even bad by the low standard they've set for themselves tonight. They looked like they were running different plays than the guy next to them far too often. Sorry man. You're wrong. Bellefeuille, Willy, then the actual OL (in that order) are the problems with the OL.

Yep I'm starting to lose patience with O'Shea.
