  1. @Pascucci015: Blue Bombers release OL Chris Kowalczuk, RB Errol Brooks, DL Kenny Tate, and WR C.J. Tarver
  2. I firmly believe Willy was the Bombers number one target based on comments made by Walters and McManus a couple months before free agency began. I also believe the Bombers wanted to pair Willy with either Collaros or Burris.
  3. Perhaps Walters is working on a trade and doesn't want to cut a guy he might be able to trade for value.
  4. @CFL_News: #Redblacks release: receiver Garrett Burgess; DBs Chika Madu and Larry Parker; RB Eric O'Neal. #cfl #cflottawa via @HolderGord
  5. Maybe we can trade Ford to Sask for something of value...
  6. @PaulWiecek: Hearing Bombers will submit their cuts to league by tonight's 10:59 deadline, but won't inform players or announce publicly until tomorrow.
  7. Jaymar Johnson reminds me of Wallace Miles.
  8. Alouettes PLAYERS RELEASED Ismael Bamba WR Sherbrooke National Jheranie Boyd WR North Carolina International Robert Godhigh RB Georgia Tech International C.J. James DE Colorado State International Collin Klein QB Kansas State International Stephon Robertson LB James Madison International
  9. With Feoli-Gudino and Carter stepping up, I wonder if starting 3 NI receivers might now be an option? Start Kolhert, Watson & FG, with Renaud and Carter backing them up. Not ideal but might be an option on a rotating basis, considering the recent injuries to Lucas and Newman.
  10. Are Etch defenses known for getting good pressure on the QB?
  11. Maybe we should drop a pile of horse manure on his front lawn and he'll get the hint...
  12. Let's post todays cuts in here: The Edmonton Eskimos have released: •international wide receiver Kevin Cummings •international wide receiver Mark Dell •international quarterback Jacory Harris •international defensive tackle Cedric McKinley •international defensive end Ernest Owusu •national defensive back Shea Pierre •international linebacker Donovan Richard •international offensive lineman Trevis Turner •international defensive back Anthony Watkins •international offensive lineman Justin Wells
  13. The one thing that worries me about our starters is the starting OL giving up 3 sacks in the first half. That's not good. A new OL takes a few weeks to gel. Wylie will hopefully speed up that process. I'm quite optimistic about the OL this season.
  14. I kinda hope Suber gets released. I like the guy but he's just too short to be an effective DB.
  15. It's his shoulder but I've heard nothing on how serious it is. Heard a rumors it might be separated but nothing confirmed.
  16. Did anyone see how Collaros looked yesterday?
  17. Tons of positives from this game. Need to tighten up the run defense and the return coverage on special teams and we're good to go!
  18. A few random thoughts after last nights game: 1. Trading for Patrick Neufeld was a great move by Walters. I've paid close attention to Neufeld the first 2 games, and in practice and he is a legit CFL NI o-lineman. He can play tackle and guard, and even center in a pinch. 2. Goossen is going to be a very good center for the Bombers. I suspect he will be starting by game 6-9, which may then allow us to start 4 NI's on the OL. 3. I suspect Kyle Walters will be keeping a close eye on other teams cuts, looking at Canadian d-linemen. I think they are comfortable with Jake Thomas starting, but if that's going to be a designated NI roster spot, we need more depth there. Evan Gill would sure look good in a Bomber uniform right now. 4. What's the injury status of Jesse Briggs? With Newman going down, likely for the season, I wonder if he could start on a rotational/part-time basis at one of the linebacker spots? When he's in we have 4 import DL's and when Jake Thomas is in, we have all import LBs. 5. I really want to find a way to get Maher on the roster. Having a weapon like him who can hit 47 yard FGs with ease, and his extra 15 yards on kickoffs is huge. I also like his intangibles; his obvious commitment to the team with his wife giving birth yesterday, and his willingness to tackle on special teams. My gut feeling is that we end up going with Hajrullahu and Renaud. 6. Drew Willy is a legit CFL starting QB. I'm also thinking we will be happy with Bellefeuille as OC this season. 7. I think Brian Brohm wins the backup QB job and Hall is sent packing. 8. Terrible losing Newman last night. I hope he can make a full recovery. Best case scenario is its a clean broken leg and he can return mid-season. 9. Really curious how the RB situation plays out. I suspect Cotton starts the season, with Ford on the injured list. 10. I suspect we will only keep 2 of Jarvis Jones, Dan Knapp and Cordaro Howard. I think Knapp is a lock so it'll come down to Jones and Howard. 11. Today's cuts will include Jesse Peterson, Max Hall, Donavon Kemp, Michael Ray Garvin, CJ Tarver.
  19. The Bombers were playing plenty of backups in the first half. Fraser, Tate and Moseley all got lots of time on the d-line. I also noticed that we rarely sent more than 4 men after the QB and when we did, we got good pressure. Stamps were throwing a minimum of 5 guys at the QB on most plays. My primary concerns after the game are the run defense, and special teams return coverage. Loss of Newman really hurts the ratio too.
  20. That was Cordaro Howard. He was playing well until that play...not sure what he was thinking on that one, just let the defender walk around him without much effort.
  21. Ugly leg injury. My guess is he's out for the season.
  22. If Newman is out for the season does that force the Bombers to start 4 NIs on the OL?
  23. I was very disappointed when we lost out on Collaros and Burris. But the more I see of Willy, the more I'm happy he's the QB we got.
  24. Another angle on the Brohm vs. Hall for the backup QB role is that Joe Mack brought in Max Hall, whereBrohm was brought in on McManus's recommendation. The current regime seems to like their "own guys", so that could give the advantage to Brohm. Not saying it'll play out that way, but if its close, they could decide to go with Brohm because he's "their guy".
  25. They're building condo's, retail complex, and a hotel right next to the stadium.
