At number 2 for sure.

Competition? There's none left.

Tough to say, he hasn't really played much. When he was healthy and a lineup regular, he was an elite import OL. He just turned 30 so he should still have some gas left in the tank. I'd think the FA OL order now is: 1. Bryant 2. Rodgers 3. Harrison
-
Would Harrison be an upgrade over January?
-
Edwin Harrison is the other Stamps OL currently headed to free agency. Is he any good? Is he a guard or tackle?

Oh man that sucks. Looks like Groulx second overall is a given.

NBC mentioned the CFL and his rookie of the year later on in the game a couple times. I was hoping the Bombers might get a mention, but never happened. -
That's what I was thinking too. For all we know, Knox could be the DL or LB coach. Bob Irving seems to make lots of errors in his reporting so wouldn't surprise me if Knox isn't the DB coach after all.

Wow...that's big news no Barron Miles...great for the Bombers!

Good for him ... bad for us ... I think the point is it's bad for him. He can't cash in on his Super Bowl performance because he's already locked in for next year at league minimum. -

Reminds me of Bellefeuille play calling. -
The NFLs cap is fairly complicated, but it's essentially a 5 year rolling cap based on averages, so it's possible to go over the cap in an individual year. And my understanding of the CFL cap is that the first $100,000 over its a dollar for dollar fine, then after that it's stricter monetary fines plus forfeiture of draft picks. Bomber players get off the book incentives too. Henoc, Willy, Kelly and Moore and I'm sure others, all had free car leases while they're in Winnipeg during the season. Bombers also provide players with 6 free meals per week during the season; meals should count against the cap, but no player (or the PA) is going to complain about free meals.

What figures are you using? I would think the Bombers would be closer to $800,000 for those four. Does anyone know how much money was moved to 2014 from 2015 when Moore restructured his contract? Either way, if we use your estimate, there's a big difference between $900,000 and about $1.1M that is the estimated salaries of Durant, Labatte, Getzlaf and Dressler. Well, I said "close to", but these are the figures I'm using:Willy: $300,000 Picard: $195,000 Moore: $185,000 Denmark: $170,000 That's a total of $855,000. Not hard to argue that those 4 Riders are simply worth more. I was just wondering. It was reported that Willy's base was $250,000 when he signed. I think you're low on Denmark. When he signed an extension it was reported he was one of the highest paid receivers in the league. The wild card is how much of Moore's salary was moved to 2014. My guess for a total was around $820,000 so we weren't too far apart. Personally I think Getzlaf is overpaid. We'll have to see if Durant is worth $400,000 this season. He wasn't playing very well before he was hurt last season. I didn't see any reports on Denmark being one of the highest paid WRs in the league and I believe Penton reported Denmarks contract is worth less than Moore's AAV of $185,000.

The more I think about it, you can make the same argument for the Bombers...not cheating, but having lots of money tied up in a few marquee players. For example, the Bombers have close to $900,000 tied up in four players; Willy, Picard, Moore and Denmark.

[Blue Bomber Talk] Early thoughts on 2015 CFL Draft

That would be awesome, but risk is if you take Durant at 2 there's no guarantee the OL Walters wants is there at 11. -
Bombers trade Cory Watson to Saskatchewan

He re-focused on the tackle, not the smack down. There's always the Kuale way to play - don't focus on the tackle, focus on the 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalty after someone else has made the tackle... And then get up and celebrate like an idiot like you made the tackle. -
There is no way we get Heenan. We would have to GROSSLY overpay for SK to let him go -- he's a local boy, old man is a Riderdouche, blah blah.He wants to go to the NFL. Or play in SK. I would like to say take a huge run at him to get SK to burn a bunch of cap money to keep him, but they dont follow the cap anyway so whats the point? I love the CFL and defend it up and down. But the way the cap is treated makes me think it needs a serious cleansing "IF" the CFL is serious about their salary cap rules they should occasionally conduct an official audit of suspicious accounting to keep teams in line. I nominate Mr. Taman and his "numbers-by-napkins" system as a likely benefactor of this program. The sickening smell of fudge is beginning to waft across the prairies and it's only February. That's a good point. Does the CFL conduct audits or is it all based on the honor system? Of course they do audits. Every year. We may have different definitions of audits. Does the CFL go through each teams books, compare their records to players actual pay etc? I thought Walters said that basically teams just submit their salary spreadsheet to the league, they review and that's it. So my question is how thorough is the leagues review/audit? If there's no meat to the audit, teams could really abuse the SMS.

@ArashMadani: The Journal de Montreal reports Byron Archambault, the terrific Carabins LB, will take part in the NFL regional combine in Denver on Feb. 21 -
I'm a little surprised Kromah hasn't been re-signed. I thought he was solid.

Do you have a link to that interview? I just watched one from the Riders website and didn't hear him say that. The reference to the salary being evenly spread out is near the end of the interview:
