  1. @PentonKirk: ESPN reports former #Bombers DE Phillip Hunt will sign with the Detroit Lions. He had been talking to #CFL teams.
  2. Bonner's scouting report: Donovan Bonner School: Missouri Position: OLB Positive: Moved into the starting role as a senior, then totaled a career-best 62 tackles. Relatively athletic linebacker who shows ability in pursuit. Scrapes well laterally, displays a good head for the ball in and a solid open-field tackler. Gets outside the numbers to make plays. Effective in space and squares into tackles. Remains disciplined with assignments. Negative: Average skill in pursuit. Does not have a big body of work on the college level. Size/speed numbers limits the available schemes he can play in. Analysis: Bonner was a solid linebacker whose game took off last season. He flashes athleticism and shows good skill defending the run and could find a backup role on the inside of a 3-4 alignment.
  3. At 6.1 245 he will be a DE in the CFL.http://www.mutigers.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/donovan_bonner_452624.html Apparently some websites have him listed at 235 lbs. And just FYI, Bear Woods is listed at 245 and is one of the best CFL MLB's. My guess is Bonner is being brought in as a MLB.
  4. @PentonKirk: @ice_matty35 @BomberJetsTalk I've heard it's a guy named Donovan Bonner.
  5. Lewis gets $120k. Glad Bombers didn't sign him.
  6. Yep...bring him in for a cup of coffee and a number two.
  7. Until he gets hit awkwardly again and is once again out for the season.
  8. Griffiths looks to be training camp fodder.
  9. Bombers Add Two To Roster The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has added International linebacker TraShaun Nixon and National offensive lineman Tommy Griffiths. Nixon (6-1, 235, New Mexico State, April 4, 1992, in Oxnard, California) finished 2014 on the Stampeders practice roster. He attended training camp with the Toronto Argonauts in 2014 and was also invited to a tryout camp with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints earlier last year. Nixon played two seasons (2012-13) for New Mexico State. He was second on the Aggies with 93 tackles in 2013 and led the team with 13 tackles for loss and three sacks. Nixon earned second-team all-Western Athletic Conference recognition in 2012 as he recorded 96 tackles, including 9.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception. Griffiths (6-3, 285, Wilfrid Laurier, May 26, 1991 in Richmond Hill, Ontario) played 21 games over five seasons at Wilfrid Laurier University. Griffiths was named an OUA First Team All-Star in 2014, his first and only season as an offensive lineman, after making the switch from the defensive line. He was with the Toronto Argonauts through last season’s training camp.
  10. I'd be in favour of this. His contributions were invaluable.
  11. I don't see Dan West making the Bombers roster this season.
  12. Sounding like it might be Hurl.
  13. Heard Lapo was constipated during that pre-game speech.
  14. @JDunk12: Official: Sources confirm Canadian OL Sukh Chungh to attend Chicago #NFL Regional Combine March 8. #CIS @UCDinos @CIS_SIC
  15. He's too breakable to play FB... but I get what you're saying. I hope we got the "sign a declining veteran for leadership" thing out of our system with Korey Banks. Some guys who lead with their play, have nothing to lead with when their play tapers off. Agreed. Unless it's for the league minimum, I want nothing to do with Lewis.
  16. I said give him $225k if needed. My thinking was that we HAD to have one of Rogers or Bryant.
  17. @SUNMitchell: Nik Lewis is very close to making a decision on where he'll play next year, per sources. Likely this week. #CFL
  18. So if I change my name to Lamar do I get an invite to training camp?
  19. Says the refund will take a year to process.
  20. Exactly. Walters offers $150k. Desjardins probably counters at $350k. Aside from reading Rider forum's why do people have this impression of Desjardins? The Bomber's won 5 free agent auctions, did they pay too much? After all they beat Ottawa all 5 times. Taman has the highest paid Canadian receiver by a mile, Popp has highest paid receiver and Wally is paying huge for a pair of LB's yet Desjardins is the only GM ruining the league with out of this world contracts? I don't get it. Can't say for sure as there's no evidence that Desjardins was after any of the players that the Bombers signed. Ottawa signed SirVincent Rogers before the Bombers signed Bryant so it looks like he was their priority for Import O-lineman. Some comments from Walters suggested that this was also the Bombers grading of the two. Anyone know what $$ Rogers signed for? Heard Rogers got $140k per season. Bryant got $160k. Rogers was seen as more attractive if the two because of perceived value. In my opinion Walters ended up getting amazing value from Bryant.
  21. My guess is yes, he's won a lot of contests. lol ....and scared a lot of children. I wonder if he could be arrested for indecent exposure while walking around with that thing??
  22. "likely"? When has there been even a hint that the Bombers are interested in re-signing him.SMH.Oh puleeze. Kelly won't be back. There's no "likely" about it.My SMH is directed at you making a big deal out of such a small detail. The reason I said "likely" is because you just never know; I've seen stranger things happen before. If all the new guys we bring into camp **** the bed, Kelly could be brought back. Unlikely, but you just never know.

I don't get it. It goes back to the Burris contract. Bombers offered a fair market value contract at $375k per season for two years. Desjardins countered at $475k per season for three years.
