  1. Don't know why but I'm getting Flashbacks of Sega Genesis NHL.
  2. This is way better put than I attempted to do. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Great, glad you accept all views. Most of us here do if it is an actual view with some critical thinking, curiosities, facts, healthy skepticism ext etc added to it. What frustrates me with this 'listen to all views and if you don't you're in an echo chamber and you're mean and defensive' is this legitimate approach it's being abused by some imo. For example very simply, when a 'view, perspective, another side' comes in hot (i.e., gaslighting, passive aggressive etc) on this board void of facts, critical thinking and its rightfully called out (yes sometimes it can be called out bluntly by some - that's a whole other issue to chat about) the default response is you all live in an echo chamber, you all are defensive, mean, belittling, can't we just all get along, wow what is wrong with you all'. What are we to do with absurdity because simply words forming in one's head that are typed into an post doesn't make it a view, another side, a perspective until other things are added, like thinking it thru, informing yourself, identify your gaps etc etc.
  4. And I would add we're not terrified, we're being responsible for ourselves and others all while enjoying our many freedoms and choices we have at our disposal.
  5. So if someone who chooses not to participate in something due to holding a 'religious' belief that is blatantly bigoted, prejudice, discriminatory, hateful etc etc etc and we call them out on that, it makes us the haters? Got it. Btw If anyone in the LGBTQ+ community chose not to participate in something like this because they held a 'religious' belief that heterosexuality was a sin it would be called out as well.
  6. Yea and it's not about what he wants for his legacy or optics or anything, it's about following the rule of law no matter who you are that he blathers and blisters and blusters about every time he gets in front of the podium. It's f'ing frustrating and maddening.
  7. Merrick Garland continues to be the most dangerous man in the US right now.
  8. Yup that’s funny my son was just talking about him to me the other day. However, I would guess as I don’t follow 2nd 3rd 4th string NFL qb’s he’s the exception to the rule.
  9. And no guarantee he even gets to enjoy hat on backwards clipboard in hand opportunity for any amount of significant time.
  10. For some, telling the truth no longer matters. Everything is transactional to get what you need.
  11. While they're at it being the same province but different sport, the BC lions should look into their handling of Lucky Whitehead's hand injury for those that remember.
  12. Yotes I think iheart means.
  13. Oilers suck.
  14. Too bad there isn’t a Mike Milbury type guy in the league right now. He would have gobbled this up.
  15. What a crock of shite. Weak pathetic frustrating system of justice that postures itself like a peacock in charge dishing out justice when in reality they are part of the problem just as much as the criminals are.
  16. We should start a thread entitled what's your top 5 triggers and what are some ways you can make them not your triggers? 🙂 The obvious but extremely difficult way is to get off all forms of social media and become a recluse.
  17. Let’s help them achieve number 12.
  18. Yup I hear you. But for what it’s worth this specific conversation I was lurk following about Pensions, Politicians and Preston Manning between you and others was actually a good conversation to read with a lot of critical thinking going on, differing and legitimate perspectives from a variety of sides. I’ve been on both ends of these types of discussions over the years here that can get a bit heated in their own way BUT at the end of the day it’s all good, we all move on and continue to agree and disagree where we see fit but know ultimately we’re all on the same team and part of the same community with similar and differing viewpoints. This is much different than engaging with knuckle draggers like covidiots as you mentioned as an example who bring nothing to the table other than their self entitled, misinformed, misguided non critical thinking narrow view on the world.
  19. Welcome to the internet. It's all good. We're all (well at least most) friends here. 🙂
  20. 5?! Wow, they're growing in numbers.
  21. Fostering an addiction that can lead to other addictions that can lead higher degrees of physical mental financial health problems, family dysfunctions, domestic violence etc etc etc? Hey, we say play responsibly after each ad. Calm down, individuals are responsible to regulate their own behaviours not us. Which is true but a bit more complicated than this. Capitalism with little regard for civic responsibility at it's finest.
  22. No, nope I don't think you appreciate nor care about the question Mr. Matthews (as the brink truck backing up meme comes into focus).
  23. Any variant is no joke regardless of the different types of severity. Protect yourself and others while enjoying your many freedoms and rights.
  24. Yup absolutely and all great receivers who produce consistently great numbers need a QB to ensure their talents are fully realized. Not sure the Elks have that right now. I could be wrong tho, maybe the amateur evaluator of professional football talent in me is not seeing the full potential of TC. Plus my dislike for any team not called the Winnipeg Blue Bombers might play a part in how I'm looking at this.
  25. You’re being too kind. Telling the truth no longer matters to some.
