  1. It’s come to this: The anti-vax movement is now after your dog: The anti-vaxxers are now going to war against rabies vaccines for dogs Here we are, coming up on three years of dealing with COVID, and not only are people still arguing about vaccines against the disease, but the anti-vax sentiment that seemed to blossom when the COVID vaccine became available in 2021 has also now cross-pollinated and found its way into the veterinary clinic. A study just published by the journal Vaccine, part of the ScienceDirect network, showed that more than half of American respondents now have questions about vaccinating their dogs – even against rabies. The Vaccine study, done in conjunction with YouGov, the public opinion polling outfit, questioned 2,200 Americans between March 30 and April 10 of this year and found that 53 percent of respondents had what the study called some "hesitancy" about vaccinating their dogs. This is a bigger problem than you'd think. According to the journal Frontiers in Veterinary Science, 99 percent of all rabies cases worldwide are contracted through dogs that are household pets. Even scarier than that, rabies is almost always fatal once dogs or humans show symptoms. It's a vicious disease; vaccinating dogs is the best way to control it. Given those figures, you'd think that vaccinations for dogs would be a slam dunk, wouldn't you? Think again. According to the poll by Vaccine/YouGov, large numbers of the American population believe that canine vaccines are unsafe (37 percent), ineffective (22 percent), or unnecessary (30 percent.) According to the study, "A slight majority of dog owners (53 percent) endorse at least one of these three positions." Where the hell did that come from, you might ask? According to Bloomberg, "Nearly 40 percent were concerned that vaccines could cause dogs to develop autism, a theory without any scientific merit." Sound familiar? We've got a prospective presidential candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has been pushing that nonsense about humans for the last couple of decades. That the same bogus theory has now invaded the vet's office shows you how far we've fallen as a nation when it comes to taking care of not only ourselves and our children, but even our pets.

  3. Probably has nothing to do with the smoke- its just the outdoor biffies. There are some very good drugs available to get them to sleep by 6:00.

  7. Gotta give him props for being able to take a beating. He does have a very good set of receivers, though.
  8. A report on MSNBC today said that one in five election workers in the US have been threatened already and the campaign to elect a president has not really started. The thinking is that the right-wing wingnuts want to scare off all the principled elections workers so that they can get their people into positions to sway the results, even by illegal means.
  9. That's a load of bull.
  10. Difficult to tell if Crum is a good enough QB to start in this league. He has so little talent around him that he looks bad even if he is not.
  11. Craig Dickenson all set for the LDC
  12. Disagree. Assuming his mediocre performance last appearance was an anomaly, the only teams that he would NOT start for this weekend would be Bombers, Argos and maybe the Lions.

  14. Trump Campaign Official Urged Cops To Hang Themselves During Jan. 6 Riot: Report Dylan Quattrucci was confirmed by NBC News as the Trump 2024 official ranting against police on video on the night of the insurrection. A man who is now an official for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign was caught on video urging police to kill themselves near the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection, NBC News reported Thursday. Dylan Quattrucci, the deputy state director of Trump’s campaign in New Hampshire, made the obscenity-laced rant after Trump loyalists stormed the building to interrupt the certification of President Joe Biden’s victory. “If you are a police officer and you are going to abide by unconstitutional bullshit, I want you to do me a favor right now and go hang yourself, because you’re a piece of ****,” Dylan Quattrucci said in the clip, shared by the Sedition Hunters on X last month. “Go **** yourself.” Quattrucci’s identity was confirmed to NBC by two people familiar with him.

  16. Revealed: Jeffrey Epstein set up meetings with Trump allies before 2016 election Four years have passed since wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein, facing federal sex trafficking charges involving minors, was found dead in a Manhattan jail cell. A medical examiner ruled that Epstein, on August 10, 2019, had died from suicide by hanging. Epstein, who was 66 when he died, associated with a lot of famous people. According to the Wall Street Journal, Epstein set up meetings with some of Donald Trump's supporters before the 2016 presidential election. Those supporters included Thomas Barrack and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel (a major donor to MAGA Republicans), WSJ journalists Khadeeja Safdar and David Benoit (not to be confused with the jazz musician) report. Another was the late Vitaly Churkin, who was Russia's ambassador to the United Nations at the time. Forbes reporter Sara Dorn, in a separate article on Epstein, notes, "The New York Times reported in May that e-mails from Epstein's assistant show he planned to meet with Thiel at least three times in 2014, but the paper did not confirm whether the meetings occurred and Thiel declined to comment at the time."

  19. Ammon Bundy: God Told Me to Go To My Arraignment Sarah Miller | Idaho Statesman Militia leader Ammon Bundy said he was considering fleeing Idaho, but God told him to go to court—conveniently in time for an arraignment that, if skipped, could have led to his arrest. Bundy, a right-wing figure who rose to fame in a pair of armed standoffs against law enforcement, is facing two lawsuits from St. Luke’s Health System. The Idaho-based hospital group says Bundy and his activist organization, the People’s Rights network (PRN), defamed doctors by falsely accusing them of child trafficking. Bundy did not participate in the defamation lawsuit, and was ordered to pay $26 million after he lost a default ruling this summer. St. Luke’s sued Bundy a second time this month, accusing him of hiding assets to avoid paying the default.
