  1. I do not argue that it is not inevitable- it is. There will be no "final resolution" accepted by all - there will always be Luddites. The process of conversion will not be quick or gentle.
  2. I chose the Riders over the Stumps and now need to disinfect my keyboard.
  3. Agreed- too bad about Teague Sherman. He showed promise before his life caught up with him.
  4. Mayhap he is ticked at being screwed over and pining for home (the Bombers).
  5. The transition to renewable energy sources will be a fraught with dissent and lumpy at best. I recall reading newspaper articles from the 1910-1920 era which bewailed the movement from horses and oxen to gasoline-powered lives. Many were fearful and even hostile.
  6. BBC called it a "tourist submarine" and the searchers are almost ready to give up. Sad,
  7. Choice1 IPTV has a free streaming program for subscribers that is quite good and even allows you to record shows.
  8. Report out of Toronto today indicate that Mitchell suffered a groin injury. Will be out for a month at minimum and not very frisky, either.
  9. You ability to drive is affected by many other factors than just your BAC. There are reactions to prescribed meds, dehydration, stress, psychiatric conditions OTC meds, your age, gender and if you are a heavy drinker.
  10. TiCats are such a mess that prying Bennet out of them isn't as impossible as it was yesterday.
  11. Aaaand...there goes BLM (and I don't mean Black Lives Matter).
  12. But if you show signs of impairment and cannot pass a field sobriety test, you will be charged and, in all likelihood, convicted of an impaired driving offence.
  13. Aww, c'mon guys. The commentators have to try to hype the game and put lipstick on every pig they are witness to.
  14. Chad Kelly may be a dink but he has made some good plays- better than Mitchell.
  15. Surprised that the Argos are not using Harris's receiving skills.
  16. Apart from the Bomber-Rider tilt, this is the most entertaining, competitive game of the week. Me likee.
  17. Can't play here- has cat stuff tattooed up and down both arms. Maybe with a belt sander....?
  18. Both of her friends are heartbroken.
  19. That would depend on a) which end of the economic spectrum you are on and/or b) If you have a social conscience. Since so many construction workers are Hispanic and unregistered, abusing them is good Texas politics.
  20. The reality is that Jones is a terrible GM and has probably crippled the team by maxing out the player budget. If/when the new GM and/or coach comes in, there will be a helluva mess to clean up. The season is probably lost, one way or another.
  21. Agreed that the Bomber pass coverage was very poor, but Harris did drop a couple of nice passes into the receivers' hands.
  22. Jones may be the worst coach in the CFL, but no question that his reign in Edmonton will be memorable.
  23. In my practice, I sometimes see the results of boys and girls who grew up without a Dad. I say "dad" not "father" because they are quite different, and children who grow up without a father-figure (dad) are behaviourally and cognitively different that those who grow up with a dad in their lives. So, for what its worth, here are a few questions to ask your dad or perhaps might suggest to your offspring to ask you. The discussion can be uncomfortable and intimate but well worth doing, in my opinion. If your father is still in your life, consider broaching one of the topics below during your next phone call or weekend at home to gain some insight into the person he is: 1. As a kid, what did you think you wanted to do for a living? 2. In hindsight, is there a time you didn’t stand up for someone or something (a person, a cause) but wish you did? Why didn’t you at the time? 3. How has your idea of what it means to be a man changed over the span of your life? 4. What’s one thing your mom or dad always used to tell you growing up that turned out to be true? 5. What were some of your biggest insecurities when you were in high school? 6. Are you where you thought you’d be at this point in your life? 7. What was the first time you remember really getting your feelings hurt? By whom and what happened? 8. Who was the first person you said “I love you” to in a romantic context? Did he or she say it back? 9. (If your parents got married): What was the moment you realized you wanted to marry Mom or Dad? 10. If you could have dinner with three famous people, living or dead, who would they be? 11. What did a typical Friday night look like for you at age 17? 12. Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, but never got the chance? 13. When do you feel the happiest? 14. What’s one underrated but important skill a person should possess? 15. What’s the best gift you’ve ever received? 16. What has been your favorite age so far and why? 17. How do you want to be remembered?
  24. Netanyahu Says Israel Will Move Ahead On Contentious Judicial Overhaul Plan After Talks Crumble - ASSOCIATED PRESS TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday his government intends to move ahead on contentious plans to change the country’s judicial system after talks aimed at finding a compromise solution appeared to be crumbling. The government’s plans to overhaul the judiciary plunged Israel into one of its worst domestic crises ever earlier this year. Negotiations between the government and opposition parties somewhat alleviated the crisis with attempts to find a middle ground over proposed changes to the country’s justice system. Those talks were jolted last week over a crisis surrounding the powerful regular committee responsible for picking the country’s judges. Opposition leaders said negotiations were frozen until the committee is formed. At a meeting of his Cabinet on Sunday, Netanyahu said the opposition hadn’t been negotiating in good faith and that his government would move ahead cautiously on the overhaul. “This week, we will begin the practical steps. We will do them in a measured way, responsibly, but in accordance with the mandate we received to make corrections to the justice system,” he said. Netanyahu put the overhaul on hold in March after mass protests erupted in opposition to it. The decision to move ahead is likely to flare tensions and fuel the protest movement that has continued to demonstrate each Saturday, despite the plan being paused.
