  1. Actually, they had francophone names and were allied to a prominent Quebec politician.
  2. And it made certain people, very, very wealthy.
  3. Maybe they could coax Rudy Linterman out of retirement. He was best ever long kicker.
  4. Clements was a great QB with decent arm and average running ability, but more that made up for that with smarts and probably a lot of film room time.
  5. McKnight's enduring presence still boggles my mind.
  6. He sure flamed out against the Bombers in the playoffs.
  7. Fighting off rabid coyotes (indistinguishable from Rider fans) all the way.
  8. The business part of pro sports sucks sometimes.
  9. But at 4.66 for the 40 yard dash, he's not a burner. Pretty versatile, though.
  10. William Stanback has hit the street. Pot, meet kettle, kettle, meet pot.
  11. I hope Walters is right on top of this. Kongbo would probably have to take a cut, though.
  12. Agreed. No one is promising a starting role to either Gray or Kolankowski or even that they will survive training camp or not be traded. Que sera, sera.
  13. We seem to be totally discounting Barriere as a possible Q2. His CV is impressive enough.
  14. Apart from perhaps the kicker, they sound like training camp bodies.
  15. Barring a miracle of biblical proportions, I suspect it will come down to either Oliveira or Shoen. Can't decide which I would prefer.
  16. And he will not be alone.
  17. I would think that the percentage of the salary that would be forgiven under the cap should reflect what percentage of the snaps that were taken during the season and playoffs.
  18. What if the salaries of any starting NI over and above the minimum wouldn't count under the salary cap?
  19. Oliviera being a local works both ways. Do not underestimate the value of being home and the comfort of familiarity and lower cost of living, not to mention the presence of family and old friends. Money isn't everything, not to mention having an o-line capable of protecting him and extending his playing career and post-CFL body health.
  20. Agreed. Every decision is a compromise.
