  1. There are a LOT of people who will disagree with your take that the Bombers were "close". It was obvious from the kickoff that the Blue were not at their best and deteriorated over the rest of the game.
  2. I have no big problem with losing the game per se. Watching the Bomber offensive line get beaten or every. damned. play. and seeing the defensive backfield perform an impromptu version of a Keystone Kops fire drill is concerning. Montreal isn't the best team in the league, but they are showing signs of life. If the Bombers just squeak by them or (horrors) lose, there will be some tough questions that need to be answered.
  3. Hmmm...Prukop throws a brain-dead, unscripted interception that costs the Bombers the Grey Cup, bails on them to play in a chickenshit league and is welcomed back???? Okay.....
  4. If Jesus is your buddy, you ought to be able to shake off any and every illness and injury. If you cannot, its obviously God's will to kill you and who are you to resist or grumble,
  5. Accord to news today, overt fascism is on the rise in the US. https://www.alternet.org/fascism-2661908329/
  6. Most of his troops are still in Russia or occupied Ukraine. He is far more vulnerable in Belarus where his best friend was blown to hell a few weeks ago.
  7. I am at a loss as to why Prigozhin backed off and why he could think that Putin would not kill him. Putin's history is absolute proof that he has no compunction whatever about killing off any real, potential or suspected opposition.
  8. I was at one time. In the rural Manitoba small four room school I attended, books were rare but one was a Latin primer, so I read it and memorized some parts. I was surprised how many English words have Latin roots. Yes, some of the Catholic priests and nuns do wonderful work and they should be honored for that. but it also has its very dark parts, like the orphanages all over the world where children (including babies) were abused and neglected to death. There was the Magdalene Laundries in Ireland and the Vatican's betrayal of Liberation Theology where it was allowed that priests and nuns in Central America to be killed by death squads funded by the United Food Company in exchange for several million dollars given to the Church.
  9. You are correct about Henry the 8th except for one detail. His secession from the Catholic church was not about wanting newer playmates but about producing a male heir to the throne. Did you know that the "fish on Friday" thingie is a part of that? Luther did not want a schism but several local Prussian lords wanted out of the Holy Roman Empire and saw Luther as a means to an end. So they promoted him to be the head of the parade, even though he wasn't happy at first. He did grow fond of the prestige and power, though.
  10. All the GOP and her in particular have is fear and smear.
  11. Prigozhin Just Got Double-Crossed by Duplicitous Putin -Press service of Concord/Handout via Reuters On Saturday night, with his heavily armed mercenaries closing in on Moscow, Yevgeny Prigozhin abruptly announced that he was shutting down his insurrection after a negotiated settlement that would allow him to walk away peacefully. Just two days later, the Russian authorities leaked word that the agreement was already toast. After one of the most extraordinary days in modern Russian history, which saw Prigozhin seize the military’s southern command HQ in Rostov-on-Don before a column of his fighters sped toward Moscow virtually unopposed, it was announced that the former Putin confidant would be granted an amnesty and allowed to head into exile in Belarus. Prigozhin—who forged his notorious reputation by running the world’s most bloodthirsty mercenary army—laughably said the deal was struck to ensure that no “blood will be shed” even though his men had already shot down several Russian helicopters and a military plane, according to reports from Russian military bloggers and the Ukrainian air force spokesman, killing up to 39 Russians. No details of the deal struck in talks with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko were announced by media-savvy Prigozhin himself over the weekend. It was reported in the Russian press that the agreement would see his men spared in order to rejoin the fight in Ukraine under contract to the Ministry of Defense and that the Wagner boss would be granted amnesty for his treasonous mutiny and allowed to drive off into the sunset. On Monday, a new audio recording of Prigozhin was released by his press service saying that Lukashenko had brokered a deal to keep his Wagner Group in business. He claimed Wagner had been due to get shut down next Saturday. Lukashenko offered to find a way for the legal operation of Wagner to continue, Prigozhin said. He made no reference to the supposed deal to keep himself or his comrades out of prison. Why Did Putin Let Prigozhin Walk Away? A few hours earlier, signs first emerged that the deal may not have been struck in good faith. The Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported that the criminal case against Prigozhin had not—in fact—been dropped. The official state news agency, TASS, soon confirmed that the investigation into the mutiny that humiliated President Vladimir Putin was ongoing. A Prosecutor General’s Office source was quoted as saying: “The criminal case against Prigozhin did not stop. The investigation continues.” (Translation: Prigozhin is a dead man walking)
  12. Its called "an idiocracy".
  13. You can bet your bippy that Putin will do his level best to ensure that he does.
  14. His initials are Chris Jones
  15. The Russians executed captured Ukrainian soldiers and Ukrainian civilians, so why would you doubt?
  16. When Jones wanted Doege to take the field, do you think he said, "Here, Doege, Doege"?
  17. Executions of Wagner supporters by the Russian MoD forces have begun. Videos appear to shows the execution of soldiers that support Wagner. (Can't post video here for obvious reasons).
  18. I don’t take medications': Marjorie Taylor Greene says TV turns on 'by itself' to spy on her Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) suggested her television may be spying on her. In a message posted to Twitter on Sunday, Greene cited strange behavior from her home electronics. "Last night in my DC residence, the television turned on by itself, and the screen showed someone's laptop trying to connect to the TV," she wrote. The lawmaker offered assurances that she was not in mental distress. "Just for the record: I'm very happy," she said. "I'm also very healthy and eat well and exercise a lot. I don't smoke and never have. I don't take any medications. I am not vaccinated. So I'm not concerned about blood clots, heart conditions, strokes, or anything else." Greene didn't understand why the television would be spying on her because she did not have "anything to hide." "I just love my country and the people and know how much they've been screwed over by the corrupt people in our government, and I'm not willing to be quiet about it or willing to go along with it," she concluded. She followed up her tweet with a link to a story about smart TVs "spying on you."
  19. If the Stamps weren't screwed before, they are now.
  20. No joke, except that I posted this in the wrong thread.
