This game feels like a classic "trap game" spot. Coming off a big win against an undefeated team, back to back the next 2 weeks against your biggest rival, and playing against a team that you should've lost to a couple weeks ago.
Would not surprise me at all if the Bombers lost this one, but I obviously hope I'm wrong
These would be the lines I would like to see come opening night
Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler
Laine-Little-Stafford
Connor-Perrault-Armia
Tanev-Lowry-Burmistrov
Copp/Thorburn as your extra forwards. Dano and De Leo start in the AHL. Once Matthias comes back, Copp or Burmistrov probably the odd man out.
Our defense is another story (and a tire fire in general without Trouba), but these 4 lines aren't the worst (although I think that 2nd line might be a bit of a possession black hole)
This. I'd even throw in a draft pick or something to sweeten the deal.
If we can somehow get Ristolainen in this deal I'd be over the moon, but I can't see any world where Buffalo makes that deal.
Figures the week I finally move off Andrew Harris to Chris Williams, Williams has his worst game of the year.
Going back to Andrew Harris this week to try and break my 0-9 going back to last year.
Not sure how many people this interests, but DraftKings and the CFL have partnered up, and Draftkings will be offering CFL contests starting with week 1.
I'm personally pretty excited. I played a ton of NHL and NBA on DraftKings, but have been playing a pretty low volume this summer (outside of a couple golf lineups each week). CFL will give me something to get excited about again.
I wouldn't say it changed the face of 2 franchises. Sure Dion Phaneuf was the leafs captain, but is he really actually a good hockey player? He's a 3/4 D man at best, but I do like the situation he's going into in Ottawa.
Ottawa basically traded away the corpse of Milan Michalek and a bunch of AHL players and added a mid-tier D-Man, so it doesn't change them a whole lot.
The last part I do agree with - The real value in this trade will be what Toronto does with all their free cap space this summer.
I still don't consider this to be a "Blockbuster" trade like some are calling it though.
This i agree with. It's a good deal for Dion. He's going to a team that has an established #1 Dman now, so he can play his role and not be expected to be a superstar.
