  1. Roster is up. As expected mostly. Grant is the the nationalized American so that means... something?
  2. Looks like he's back! https://twitter.com/DarrinBauming/status/1665773097654337541 𝘋𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘯 𝘉𝘢𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 @DarrinBauming · 3m Demerio Houston in at boundary corner for Winston Rose, who is not suited up today — he has to be in question for Friday night. Back in for Day 1 of Week 1 prep: Bighill, Jeffcoat, Lawrence, Schoen, and Oliveira, which is very positive news for the #Bombers.
  3. This times 1000 I’m super excited to see him on short yardage and get a package of plays to change it up. But he’s thrown like 15 passes against 3rd stringers, let’s not anoint him yet.
  4. Clements hasn't shown anything ever. Rather keep Wade just because he's not Clements.
  5. Where were you looking? It was the top middle of CFL.ca when I went looking for it.
  6. I definitely remember the hype around Williams coming up here and being amped for the Bombers to crush him. Don't remember Williams being an ass about it though or coming in super cocky. Thought that was all the NFL fans dumping on the CFL.
  7. Worked for the playoffs in 2021. Leggz is still on his rookie deal, and Castillo already had a bonus paid by Edm so shouldn't be an issue to fit both under the cap. Good chance both guys will excel in separate roles. Leggz is the better punter. Castillo the better kicker.
  8. Local kid (only 19) trying out for the Bombers as a territorial exemption. Mekhi Tyrell, anyone know anything about him? Drew interest from the NCAA but had academic issues. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2023/04/19/newest-bomber-way-ahead-of-his-time
  9. BA is a great show. Basically the only musician I've seen talk about the CFL between songs.
  10. Ya based on his FG stats he's not replacing Leggs as placekicker. Maybe punting (and kick-offs?)
  11. Sayles miss the block. Prukop threw the INT. Both gone, so those problems are solved!
  12. Definitely need more rotational ends. Would be nice if Kongbo returns. Hope they bring a bunch of rookies to camp.
  13. That makes sense. His intangibles might be hard to see from the perspective of someone outside the team.
  14. Bailey fits his role well but there isn't a lot of cash left for the 3rd american receiver (who would be the 4th receiving option). Probably better off having one of the younger cheaper guys in that spot.
  15. The market does seem crazy right? There aren't that many top shelf QBs so I guess teams have to make up for that by trying to buy the best receivers they can
  16. Shoen can score from anywhere on the field. Demski can score from anywhere on the field. Lawler isn't going to run away to take it to the house but can win 30/40 yard jump balls anywhere on the field.
  17. I'd agree with that. He might not get a premium price either, there are a lot of flashier FA receivers out there this year
  18. Maybe the DB covering Ellingson undercuts him for the pick. Maybe Ellingson can change the angle for the catch. Maybe the ball hits the turf. All I'm saying is that if Bailey doesn't run to that space, the DB covering him (who makes the pick), likely wouldn't have been anywhere near the ball.
  19. I'm not saying it was a good throw but that's not how any of this works. If a receiver is in totally the wrong spot, that's on him not the QB. It's not like Bailey was beside Ellingson when the ball was thrown. He ran his DB into the area from the other side of the field from where Ellingson was coming from.
  20. Prukop said the the Freep that the throw was to Ellingson. Looks to me like Bailey drew coverage to the ball. Not saying it was a good throw but sure sounds like Bailey shouldn't have been there. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/2022/11/22/i-didnt-do-enough-collaros-says-of-grey-cup-loss Short-yardage quarterback Dakota Prukop admitted Tuesday he’s lost sleep over the interception he threw in the fourth quarter in Sunday’s Grey Cup. The Bombers had a 23-17 lead when Prukop came in for a play and attempted a deep pass that was picked off by Shaq Richardson. “I would’ve liked to have Greg (Ellingson) more open. If he’s (wide open), then you take that shot. But the situation we were in and with the momentum, I just really wish I could’ve moved on and found the next receiver,” said Prukop in front of his locker. “So, yeah, that one hurt, man. Buck made a great call. I told him before the game ‘If you put me in, I’m going to take care of the ball.’ I’ve done it all year and on that play, I didn’t. It sucks.”
  21. From the postmortem as the team cleaned out their locker sounds like Ellingson was the target on the deep INT by Prukop. What the hell was Bailey doing running his guy into the area?
  22. Back to the overall topic of loving this team. When ZC threw that INT with a couple minutes to go, that is game over for most teams. How great was it that we got the stop on D, unheralded Cdn special teamer blocks the kick, and then the offense did just enough to get a chance to win the game. Didn't end well, but that was awesome.
  23. Lawler and Schoen would be such an embarrassment of riches. They are very different receivers and both great at what they do.
