  1. Watching Goltz is always a good time. The only question now is how many do we win by?
  2. Ask Chris Matthews. I bet some of the shine has come off for him after this season, deserved or not. It is a catch 22 for some. If you are indeed NFL material you should shine no matter what imo. So do you sit out and get rusty instead of playing and taking a risk showing you may not be good enough? The way Williams was being used I could see him having another monster year in Hammy. Especially against the Bomber D! Like Mr.Dee said maybe something could be worked out for both sides. Maybe he thought he would be in NFL camps by now instead of in the courts though? In the end both sides could lose.
  3. In any case, how can skipping a year make him better? Sure he did not get injured but that could happen while training or practice or in the kitchen... In the end I bet he wished he played. Going into an NFL camp rusty seems like a tough hill to climb. Bet he is back in the CFL next season.
  4. Getting Da'Bolt in to mop up would be nice. Hopefully we get a big lead early!
  5. Now, I have never seen Goltz punt but I have seen Renaud. I would go with Goltz.....
  6. Wow, that sounds amazing. 25 years ago I would be in, with my 10 speed and cut offs, rockin' the Lumber Jacket. 4-5 days, where would the stops be? Just curious.
  7. One word, move the pocket. As far away from that line as possible. Maybe long snapper out for 2nd and long? Some quick kicks to keep them honest? Get 'er done Justin.
  8. With Ray you can actually build an offense around what he does well, the way the D played in the 2 games against Montreal I have no problems saying they'd have won those two games, they would have beaten Hamilton in week 3 most likely as well, probably woulda beaten BC also. So that's at least 4 wins, never mind how many other games might have changes with a more efficient offense. I have no problems saying that if you put RIcky Ray on the Bombers they're a playoff team this season, the east is that poor. Yeah, a third place playoff team, maybe. There are just too many problems. Blatant missed blocks by the OL, questionable safety play, questionable OLB play, lack of a dominant nose tackle (allowing OL to block the MLB), lack of halftime adjustments, etc. etc. etc. We would still not be elite for sure but with Ray we make the playoffs then a win or two away from the Cup. An elite Q.B. gives you that chance. Now, would our coaches even be able to come up with a game plan for Ray? Probably not but if we had Ray with LaPo here in 2011 or 2012 we would be a good team today imo.
  9. I lost it in that BC game when Goltz had Simpson all alone standing on the sideline and he one-hopped it in front of him. Just inexcusable at this level. Goltz had a bad ankle that game as well. An excuse? Maybe, maybe not. Add that to a good D. and pressure all game, on the road...... Brink was skipping balls all over the place when he first started and worked his way through it. He really improved that part of his game with a little more game experience. Goltz is young, athletic and seems to really want to win. Why not see what he really has in a lost season? Putting him back to #3 after a week off to heal and facing a Hammy team he played in pre-season was a huge mistake. What did we gain by sitting him? Nothing. Brain Fart # ??????. Can't even keep track anymore.
  10. Ok but how about when you're throwing 50% in practice and in games? Then what? If he's not improving in practice then he's not going to get any better in games. Please. I've been to practice and training camp dozens of times over the last 3 years and he looks the same as he did on day one. Overthrows and underthrows the most balls of any QB we've had here in that time. It's naive to think it will get better by playing in games. Well then if he's looked the same to you then I guess that's settled. I will definitely not believe the other reports that Goltz has improved, since you have now clearly said he hasn't. What reports that he has improved? is that why he is back to third string now and was 4th string last year? Some improvement! Well, with the Gong Show going on who really knows? Having faith in the coaching staff is probably not the best idea anyway. Trust your eyes and this forum long before them imo. Last year was 52-0 with a better team and facing a weaker Rider team. Lets see what Goltz can do.
  11. It would be interesting to see what our record would be with a healthy Ray from week 1. Probably around .500 and in the hunt. Ray would figure out the blitz real quick and burn the D. stopping it in its tracks. Plus the run would open up for Simpson with play action.
  12. That is why you will never hear the phrase "game speed" when talking about inexperience or a player returning from injury. It can simply be replicated in practice..... Experience =nothing, especially in young Q.B.'s imo.
  13. Getting Goltz to be more accurate is something that can be coached in practice. I'm thinking that they don't have the patience for it right now. The sense of urgency is still there with the coaches, even though it really shouldn't be anymore. All we need is some decent coaches to coach our coaches on how to coach, then they could help coach up the entire team. Goltz is the only reason to tune into this weeks fiasco. Hopefully he makes it the entire game behind our D'Oh-line so I can see him live in the Banjo Bowl.
  14. Well, there would have to be a line as far as fines go. Otherwise the teams could take back a lot of salary from every player during the season for various mistakes. Be pretty tough to win this one in an arb. imo.
  15. I doubt it would stand, could have been miscommunication. Right? Just more hot air being blown around. Should have been dealt with on the spot.....
  16. There are several reasons I am not a HC in the CFL, but lets not get into that right now. But if I was I would have called a time out, got him off the field and straight to the room.
  17. Going out on a limb here but I think there may be a sharp decline in attendance after Banjo Bowl. I think you're on a pretty solid branch...Banjo Bowl takes care of itself...after that look out! It could get real ugly. It is one thing to lose the ticket sales but having empty seats will cost them huge $$$$$ in vendor sales. Can't blame the fans for not wanting to go, how long can you ask people to keep buying a poor product?

  19. Used to be fines and Gassers. Perfect Gasser weather to boot.
  20. The only question I would have for Timmy is what ever happened to Gassers?
  21. At times it seems Burke may have lost the room.
  22. We have enough DE Baggs on the team already. ZING! They would just wave him off anyways....
  23. Maybe he will say something smart like Goltz is the starter for the rest of the season. And stick to it. It is going to be an interesting game coming up. One word, Run Justin, RUUUUUUUUUUUUN!
