  1. In football a lot of times miscues and mistakes are direct result of scheme faced...wrong route on several throws were due to bomber coverage being different after snap from what they showed pre snap..and did all year causing CGY confusion and not allowing receiver to be were they wanted to be..and db's being in spots post snap were they normally wouldn't have been..hence the 3 pics..plus we dropped a couple too..
  2. Fartado led league in passing (yards only) only because he was able to play pretty much the whole season..took over after first drive in game one and sat out only last game of year. Was 6th in TD passes and the 7th and 8th guys (nichols and Harris) were 2 and 3 tds behind him and they missed a lot of games Hardly a QB to strike fear into defenses with his arm in the best of conditions..and 100 percent healthy which he isnt...we play a clean game and control the lines like we did basically all yr against them..we win easily
  3. The game was a combination of better coaching...players out performing others..and new schemes on both sides of ball to confuse CGY..basically playoff mode ball by well prepped team. BLM was piss poor solely due to what he was seeing..and wasnt comfortable save for the first drive all game. On offense the second half "adjustment" was just a continuation of what was game planned from the start...they felt them out..and like Collaros said in the presser got CGY to reveal how they were gonna roll on defense all day and they exploited it..with pre-planned scheme. I guarantee you as well we got a dose of Streveler light in first half to give full dose in second half to wear down and hammer it home as it got colder and players got more tired and to preserve him for crunch time and grind out the game..and it worked flawlessly...well done coaching staff and well done team for executing it...plain and simple that's what happened.
  4. Truthfully we could..and should have won all 3 against the riders..and were missing key peices in some regard in all games (Harris..Nichols..Alexander.) and played them basically when we were in our funk. We now have legit QB play to worry about coupled with our triple headed running threat..solidified the backend with Taylor and Maston and replaced Hecht with Alexander and are basically healthy..I see no reason we lose other than the divine intervention of some piss poor one sided referreing..
  5. Now there is the distinct possibility ol crafty Richie Hall has flipped the switch and changed up the defensive philosophy for the playoffs..and if so kudos to him and can guarantee you on the closed practices we have been running it a lot so will be well versed in it. If BLM couldn't figure it out, there is no way in Regina (hell) Fartado can..if he is even playing or healthy enough to make any impact. Can just see it now about Rider fans whining about losing again cause they had to play backup QB and the irony of it will be they lost to a combination of our backup and a guy they tossed away and didnt give a chance again to because they got enamoured with Fartados mediocrity and flash in a pan play..he is in no way shape or form top tier starter material over the long term
  6. Hence why he made it out as the West nominee for MODP and not Hughes..the one trick pony who fades out...Jefferson is the more complete player and does things that be benefits the defense in multiple ways
  7. We are peaking at right time..and regardless of if Fartado is hurt or not. He hasnt really did squat against us this yr..or any good defence for that matter..this cgy game was gonna be our toughest portion of the playoffs I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar type large margin of victory against the riders
  8. Probably was his swan song this yr. Cant see him back anywhere next yr
  9. Ahh...sometimes life gets in the way..work..in Cali doin stuff fir a bit had no time to post.. back now tho
  10. If in the West Khari would not be in playoffs at moment or hosting a play-off game...also if it was just one division, again he would be on the outside looking in..sure he did a decent job there but Montreal is steps behind where Winnipeg is at..and that team truth be told had the right pieces already there actually just a putz leading them. I personally don't even factor in the first 2 and a bit season's here for this regime, and to lump that into success/failure rate of them is pointless...They inherited a right mess, and not just with on-field product/coaching...but over the last 3 years plus this one, have won a lot of games, and have made this Organization successful on all fronts, and a place guys want to be. Play-offs 9 times out of 10 is a crap shoot and basically a situation where the hot team coming in, or the lucky/opportunistic ones win...look how many times the West dominates all year only to loose to the hot hand coming out of the East..players play, and the in game moments/conditions/situations/flow determine who wins, not who is wearing the HC Headset. That being said that coach needs to see when he needs to make changes with offensive or defensive philosophies and when to play the meanie and make the tough decisins based on staff/personel...Osh has advanced in that regard bigtime from when he started and you can see on his face and his manerisms in some games this year that he is fed up with certain aspects and if he is back regardless of how this season ends that there will be change...you have to evolve, or you die..He's not and idiot...stubborn and loyal but not an idiot..Same can be said even more strongly with Miller...if he thiks enough is enough he is the kind of guy who will clean house if he sees the need
  11. for sure 100%....we can't sit and stand pat, have to improve whatever way we can, and even if we win the Cup with Streveler a lot of it would be to do with great defense, some luck and quite likely Strev playing over his head and doing it on the ground, moreso than finally having it all click. I want to see him back, but not as the defacto starter, but earn it with his play in camp and showing more progression...which I am certain he will. I think rolling with him as your cemented number 1 going into camp can go really well as he has realized that potential, or it will be a season of highs and lows...more highs than lows and still successful but lots of growing pains...but by years end in that scenario he may have become seasoned and a legit number 1 too...be very interesting off-season and the last 2 games this year and whatever happens in play-offs will be big factors in it
  12. Have to disagree there..Moon was barely a 50% passer his first 3 years with 54.7% being his best year...double digit INT's 2 of 3 years as well...Clements as well his first 2 years was a under 60% as a passer...threw INT's in the teens his first 4 years..never eclipsed 2900 yards his first 5 seasoned and that was playing 16 games as well, Flutie came into league with 5 years of pro experience with USFL and NFL so can hardly even put him in that conversation...Reilly had 2 seasons in league backing up before he became a starter with middling numbers and save for a last chance pre-seaso game was almost cut..Bo levi was a 3rd stringer for his first year and a half before he got his chance to start....learning this game and the position. So looking back none of the mentioned other than Ricky Ray came in with zero experience as a pro and was thrust into a starter role and took off with their feet running...especially with only 2 years experience at the college level prior to turning pro..so his learning curve is waaayyyy bigger than the norm and his advancement is rather spectacular when you look at it all things considered, especially with pressures of a team on a 29 yr drought and in a bigtime playoff battle Reilly...Bo..all served several years as a back-up and Clements and Moon didn't light the world on fire until 3-4 years into their starting career
  13. THE WHOLE LEAGUE WAS DOOFUS... in one particular instance...not multiple times all on their own due to apathy and no fan support...
  14. I agree for most part, but with the bolded parts thats what gets resolved with experience...reps...time in the league and chemistry with your receivers and having that connection where you speak and do things on the filed without basically speaking...and these are the things that with reps and time...he will get...he is bascally still a baby in the grand scheme of things considering his limited QB experience coming into the league...and from what he has done and accomplished already based on that it's pretty impressive and encouraging
  15. back in the day a lot of that though was due to propping up the weaker sisters...and save for EDM all teams were in same boat
  16. Rider's did it soley to pay their bills, and really to when you look at it fleece their fans...as really they are not worth the paper they are printed on...so saying the Packers did the "same" as the Rider's infers that the Packers did it for the same reason...are you a highschool graduate?...or are you still some lil fella living in yer mama's basement waiting for breakfast to be brought down after you make your bed and put your clothes away??...I truly hope it's the latter
  17. You seriously can't even think to use the Packers and Rider's in the same breath...and the Packers didn't do that to save their buts from irrelevance...several times....you get funnier as the posts go on I have seen the Rider's new facilities...very nice...same as other new ones in the CFL...whats the point?? they built it on fake share money and telethons??..haha....you are something else...
  18. most phoney "rider shares" to save their team
  19. You compare him to all Hall OF Famers...future Hall of Famers?...thats pretty heady comparison...save for Reilly right now nobody else in the league is at that level, or most likely will ever get to that level so thats a pretty poor comparison. All scouting reports, past coaches, draft profile...current coaching staff and people I have talked to have all stated his intelligence, and how quickly he can absorb things...picking out 1 or 2 or 3 errors he has made as reason to say he doesn't possess superior intelligence is kind of laughable...almost like cherry picking stats to prop a guy up versus someone else. What other new QB who has ever laced up in the league starting out hasn't been prone to throwing a pick, or forcing a ball...even the aforementioned guys you stated did that and also late in their careers...faulting a guy for trying is hardly an indication of "not" having it. He came into the league as a fresh rookie..with 3 weeks exposure to Canadian ball after barely 2 years experience as a College QB and should have won his season opener against EDM...and won his second start, and should have 2 more wins this year as a starter if not for the defensive collapses, so I would say as a 24 year old he is picking the game up pretty damn well and fast....tho it seems here opinions will vary amoung the masses and the less informed/experienced I will take what has been said by coaching staffs, draft analysis and scouting report people and teamates, as well as my own observation anytime over forum analysts..sure he may not be ready for primetime but saying he is average at picking up Canadian game is a real reach, and your opinion soley...based on what I am not sure...same question can be asked that you asked me...you base his trouble grasping the game based on what??..Nine starts? and cause he has thrown some forced picks?..a couple of which no real fault of his
  20. Salsbury was brutal...I believe he was an under 50 percent or just at 50 percent passer...and no escapability whatsoever...Crandell was prone to dumb mistakes..over and over and wasn't deemed "too intelligent" from what I know and have talked to...Burgess very pedestrian and lack luster....those three don't have skillset or intelligence that Strev has, all they have on him is experience...and that's what he is learning now.
  21. I did a post a long while ago about attendances..with figures...and overall other than recently..and the early 2000's the avg attendance was in the mid to low 20k area...a few years were under 20k for average attendance....you seem very intrigued by me and my posts...spend some time and effort and search them out and see for your self...or are you capable of doing that...it's either here or on the other Bomber site...I am too busy with important grown up things to go back and find it for you, and don't have the time to re-hash some things that are known as fact...but have at er...pretty sure when you find it though you still won't shut yer dickhole TV ratings are hardly subjective and linked to just a team...may get more eyes on a rider game outside of that cruddy province but thats mainly due to the mass exodus of "former" Sask residents...and it's not as Rod Balck likes to yammer on about that Rider Fans travel well...those ugly green uni's in the crowd are worn by defectors
  22. only recently when they have been marginally successful...when they aren't...the support was laughable...quit cherry picking things and base things on a whole...over the course of the franchise...
  23. good luck with that...even when cold hard facts or actual history hit them square in the face they argue or dispute it...
  24. Crandell...Salsbury...just off top of my head without even thinking much..I'd say Burgess too as he was limited skillwise but relied on smarts..
  25. as mentioned before...a lot of things Streveler is learning/gaining on the fly are things most back-ups/new guys have had 3 or 4 years of more than him..being a QB all through college...Streveler is learning a lot of these things, as well as a totally different game all at once...not making excuses for him, but that is a huge thing, and a lot of the instinctive reactions that a QB has and does without even thinking due to reps...game play and practice he is just getting...and he has been getting better....even an untrained eye can see it. His overall body of work for a fresh faced rookie new to Canada in his first 2 years (with only 2 years of College experience as a starter) and a lot of it in a neutered offence is pretty impressive...he has generated 40 td's basically...not sure how many were result of coming in for 1 play after Nichols got us to goaline, but even then it's probably not more than 10...and even in some of those instances he was brought in when ball was outside the 5 yeard line, and threw some TD's to end Nichols drives, as well as ran them in. Show me the TD total for any of the now "elite" QB's in the league in their first 30 games or so and I bet few if any come remotely close. He is gonna have ups and downs for sure...but there are more ups then downs, and what rookie/second year QB hasn't had them..save for Ricky Ray?
